Me and a friend want to backpack in Europe this summer (excluding the UK, we live there), we want to camp and be self sufficient, we have not done multi day backpacking before, but both are fit and have done long single day hikes, some in Spain and a few in Scotland. What routes do you recommend? We don’t want to buy any specialist gear.

I find it infuriating that in this day and age we cannot get a reliable satnav that will re-route you around road closures. I was looking at getting a Garmin dezel 1010 I asked the question on Amazon “does it re-route you around road closures”. The answer no. £683 and it can’t manage road closures. With all this AI stuff all over our phones and what not why can I not get a Satnav that will go there is a closure on the A14 from say 19:00 so take this route to get to your destination. Perhaps I could reach out to Elon Musk his team can get a rocket to land all by itself perhaps he would be interested in HGV Satnavs that work. Let’s face it he won’t be in government long so he’ll have free time.
