2025.01.22 12:56 RedHotFreckles Struggling to wake up
So I’ve kinda screwed up my sleeping schedule by not going to bed at my usual time. I’ve been attempting to get it back under control while some days I can and others I can’t. I know it is a self control issue but the real issue I feel is hardest is waking up. And since stress is my #1 contributor to literally 80% of my mental triggers, it makes work feel like I’m living in hell, due to me being tired and mentally exhausted.
I’ve taken some vacation time like last Friday to extend my weekend to a 4 day weekend and had some days off in December. Even though I’ve been having vacation days, I still feel burnt out. Like I literally need a month off. Which all this is contributing to my self control. And to add the cherry on top, because I feel this way, I know that me staying away has everything to do with the mental process of “I just want more time to do things I enjoy doing,”.
Any advice on trying to control yourself when it comes to strict bedtime to preserve your bipolar symptoms before it’s too late?

Hi all,
My brother (30m) is really struggling. He lives at home with our mom. He has mental health issues - bipolar disorder that makes things difficult for him to stay employed.
He has a computer science degree from a top school. He is incredibly smart, and very good with coding. After college he worked at a huge healthcare company, building their app. He cracked under the pressure, started drinking HEAVILY, attempted suicide, and had to quit his job.
He moved back home where my mom could monitor him. He stayed unemployed for years.
He eventually got a job as an IT guy at a local company. He was there two years, and stayed totally stable and did a great job. Then one day he said that the job was too tedious, and that he wanted to find a new job. He quit without anything lined up.
He then couldn't find a job and remained unemployed for a year. He did get a job as a caretaker in group homes for developmentally disabled adults. He did a great job and his coworkers loved him. He was working very odd hours that led to a bad sleep schedule. (Which is terrible for someone with bipolar)
About a month into the job and he then had a manic episode, and freaked out over procedures taking place at work that he felt were not up to par. He went to HR to complain, broke down in tears and quit.
He is now again unemployed and absolutely panics and shuts down if you bring getting a job. He has lost all confidence in himself and is terrified of getting a job. He doesn't know where to start to find a new job. He doesn't have insurance but needs it for the meds he has to take for bipolar.
Is there anything I can do to help him? A job coach to build his confidence? A remote IT job would be ideal for him, where he can stay on a good sleep schedule.
Thank you so much for any help and advice. I just want to help my brother.

Alright, so i've had an idea for awhile for a kids birthday party venue. I found a space and i'm going to get my LLC but i'm having a hard time finding info on google as far as like is there a limit as to how many kids can be in the space per sq ft? and do i need to go to someone in my town for permission or licenses or anything? i'm really not sure how that works and most things im finding online are for an even planner as a person not in a single building if that makes sense. would it maybe not be event planning? if not, what business entity would it be considered?

i recently came out to my parents and they fully supported me (yay), but they didn't really know what was the next step, so i told them to put me on hrt. But my parents were worried about the health risks of hrt and refuse to put me on it until im 18, how do i convince them that it's pretty much safe to do so? If i can't they're fine with me being on blockers but i still really want hrt early. I have a therapist but he has told me that i should only get on hrt at 18, i don't know what to do
please give some advice or like any sources on younger trans kids being healthy would be appreciated
