I'm just so frustrated this morning.... š« I already feel like a failure. All the kids are still in bed so how is this even possible!?
Hubby and myself have been working on a business plan to start a roofing company the past week or so. It's been difficult, it's all new terrain for us, we both graduated high school but that's it. We're both near 40 and it's hard to dig deep. Today Hubby had to go meet with his cousin to look at a roof and who will possibly be financing us. Hubby has been a roofer for 25 years and making cash has just been screwing us. It's exhausting. I work for cash on the weekends and we're just hardly surviving.
Hubby asks me if I want to go with as he's about to walk out the door. Well sure I'd LOVE to go. Especially to be able to pick his cousins brain since I'm stuck on some sections of this business plan that google searches and research just arnt helping me on. But guess what!? I can't. Why do you ask!? Kids..... his specifically.
For being the wicked stepmother of 11 years how do I still get stuck!?! How does the responsibility still always end up on me. Why do I continue to be the default parent as much as I have disengaged for my own mental health?
Ours (10), ss15, and ss16 are all still sleeping, so it should be fine to leave the kids for 2/3 hours right? You'd think? Ha! If it were just ss15 and ours 10, it'd be perfectly fine. Ss16 is on probation, constantly fights with his siblings, us, the dogs, air, anything, anyone and everything. It's tiring. I would of loved to go with but I can't because I'm scared to leave ours 10 either ss16 home. Why couldn't of Hubby said something last night!? I could of asked my mom for ours10 to come over for a couple hours so I could of had the chance to go. I have soooo many questions! Why is it always unfair to me!
It was just disheartening for me. I yet again feel like I'm going to be left in the dust when it comes to building a business i literally already know ZERO about. I always feel like I'm just left in the dust in all aspects all the time. Whether it comes to Hubby, kids, friends, life. I try to make myself known and the forefront but I always feel like a joke to people. I'm sure it's my own issues and subconscious but it sucks.
Why do I still have to be the one stuck at home because of the delinquent kid? Hubby doesn't always see my concerns because they're all his bio kids. I have a huge concern because I don't agree with teens being physical (hitting) with my 10 year old, siblings or not. My siblings and I were not like that. Hubby and his were so he thinks it's normal while I do not. Especially with ss16 being aggressive, being on probation for such things, going to jail, having constant police contact, etc. Doesn't sit well with me to leave my son with him and i refuse to. It may sound mean but it's reality and my choice. So there it is right? My choice?
I guess I'm just here to vent my frustrations today. I'm sure my friends are sick of hearing the same BS. I'm counting down the days til ss16 is 18, he will be 17 in about 6 weeks, which he insists he's moving out š hard to do on felony probation kid but whatever what do I know lol š he won't even get a job but good luck with that!!
I just want to help my husband start this business for our family. He's been struggling these past few months and roofing is where his heart is. I know we can make it happen but I don't want to just be left in the background as always. I'm not sure what I came here looking for, just to vent I guess. Vent how ss16 makes my life unbelievably difficult when he's home most days. I'm on edge when he's here. I'm on high alert at any noise or bang, I hate it. I dred it. I've disengaged for my own mental health. I used to be in therapy but got tired of always talking about ss16, I get a lot what was happening at the time and he was root of a lot of issues at home but that didn't mean I wanted to spend my entire therapy session talking about him every single week. I'd even try to change the topic and shed just loop right back to him, I'd even tell her that and she would tell me he was the root of a lot of the issues, yeah well cool I have other issues I came here for!!!! My other kids thrive and I have great relationships with them, even ss15, hes picked up some not so nice behaviors from ss16 but for the most part he's a great kid. Ours 10 is also a great kid, unfortunately/fortunately I've kept him away from seeing a lot of ss16 behaviors. Luckily his bedroom is upstairs where mine is so he is away when "drama" happens and is only aware of things like fights or police contact after the fact.
ThankS for reading I'm sorry it's long, i think im just rambling at this point. On another frustrating note...... I typed this once with my original thoughts and my dad called so I answered, when I came back my ENTIRE post was gone so note to yourselves......DO NOT answer a call while creating a post lol it will be gone when you hang up and piss you off that much more!!

Donāt get me wrong I like how simple and easy Duolingo feels but itās like Iām just... not retaining stuff I keep forgetting characters over and over I thought I already learned and moving to new lessons makes me feel like Iām leaving big gaps behind
And The thing is Iām still at the very beginning of my Japanese learning journey so using books or more advanced resources feels overwhelming right now Thatās partly why I stuck with Duolingoāit seemed approachable for a total beginner
So ... Is Duolingo good enough for things like hiragana or am I wasting my time here?

Hey everyone, this one is more targeted for my fellow aussies, however happy to hear other opinions! Does anyone know of people/places that host tournaments or just games in general? Iāve tried asking in some local groups but to no avail. I asked my lgs and they donāt host yet, so sorta lost now.
Iām located in Queensland, and as far as Iāve looked around I havenāt actually found many lgs even sell swu, let alone host games. To be honest Iām not even worried about it being tournaments, Iād be happy even if a group of a few people meet at a cafe to play or something like that. But again, I donāt really know where to look.
So to sum it up, if youāre in qld/aus pls lmk if you know of any spots, and even if youāre not in aus but know any ways to search for people who host. Thanks!

Iād put off buying FC for years due to the reviews, but finally decided to go for it. I bought direct, so I believe itās the third printing that was created around the time of Buttons.
Wisely, I heeded common bits of advice to be found here and on BGG: 1. I started at level 5 (I was prosperity 9 long ago on GH). After the first level, I jumped them all to level 6. 2. I went hard on good items and didnāt feel bad about cheesy stamina pots. 3. I played 3-handed for the first time ever. Iād read way too much that 2 player isnāt balanced well.
My team: I wanted to avoid FH characters, but also didnāt want to play GH characters which are all about to be changed. So, my team was Red Guard, Demolitionist and the Diviner. I started at 5 with the normal amount of gold for items. I think I bumped them all to 6 after one scenario, and then also got them some better items after 2-3 scenarios. I figured, for at least the non-Diviner chars, I couldāve shown up completely tricked out. (Cheat number 1).
Diviner: people are mostly right, it can feel like you are required to do certain things on certain scenarios. After seeing how important teleport was, I went back and changed my level 5 card (cheat 2). The diviner is fun at later levels, especially the level 9 card. Prior to that, it can be dull and feel like youāre not providing much. I can see how 2 player would be criticized; I was lucky I had enough damage output for the diviner to just wander around and be less useful. Sometimes, stacking modifier decks was fun (until you bless your stacked character and undo it). I donāt think I only once managed to change the monster ability decks to my advantage. The shuffle icon is your enemy. I wish Iād taken the level 8 retribution card.
Scenarios: generically, a little too fiddly for me. Still, I enjoyed them more than I thought I would. It looks like Iāve done all but 5 (plus the solo and the non numbered last one). I waited until level 9 to do 99, which made it simple. I could see that one being a mess without the Diviner able to immediately slaughter half the first room.
115: I know I rebooted this part way through turn one after I missed something important. Otherwise, I did this on the first full try, but I did cheat once (I pulled a card that would summon monsters that I didnāt have at the ready - no. Just no. I was punished by getting disarmed instead, so I shouldāve just done it). I did happen to have the Demoās card that prevents healing out when the heal card was pulled. I won in the eighth round, and that likely wouldāve stayed the same even if the boss healed for 18.
Boss: two Qs for those reading: 1. Did you do his movement based on whether he had a ranged attack that round? Heād have a move that would disarm adjacent, but heād have a ranged attack that would then have disadvantage. I used normal rules and only moved if he was out of range. 2. He pulled a card to swap places with the furthest away. At the time, that was the diviner hiding behind a wall. I didnāt swap them, because I knew heād sit back there stuck for the rest of the game. Anyone else have this happen?
Biggest gripe: setup throughout the game. Some of this was fixed for FH (I think? I donāt remember having this issue to this extreme). But, I would like to say again how much I absolutely hated finding a new monster mid scenario. Hated hated hated hated hated. One time you had to find two and splice their decks together (and then again later that scenario). I have never hated anything more. Please, just make sure I have all the correct things in advance. I greatly preferred the GH book, but I realize I was outvoted long ago on this.
Lesser gripe: this comes up in FH often too, but I dislike playing with 6 or so different monsters simultaneously. I play without apps, I donāt want to use my phone.
Overall: I enjoyed the game more than I thought I would. I played FH prior and got to play diviner 2.0, but I do understand why it was not received enthusiastically at the time. I was more prepared for the changes, as opposed to someone who had only played GH.
