I'm developing using Rider on a Mac.
I have this line in one of my unit tests:
System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding("windows-1251");
When I run the test with dotnet test, it's fine.
When I run it in Rider (e.g. right-click -> “Run Unit Test”), I get System.ArgumentException : 'windows-1251' is not a supported encoding name.
So clearly something is different between my CLI env and my Rider env. But what is it?
I've gone into Settings -> Build, Execution, Depoloyment > Toolset and Build, and I've made sure Rider is using the same “.NET CLI executable path” as my command line, and it is.
What else could be causing this?

Hi Reddit, this is my first ever Reddit post and it's really because I need some advice on how to handle the situation. This feels like something I'd watch on one of Charlotte's YT videos.
I'm (27F) getting married in April in my hometown in Mexico. And the weekend before my wedding is my bachelorette, it cannot be any other weekend because I don't live in Mexico and a few of the other girls also don't live there, so this was the perfect date. We all go to Mexico one week before the wedding, we all stay for a week and work remotely, I get married, and then we all go back. I should also mention that half of the girls invited to my bachelorette *do* live in Mexico. So it's a mix between people flying in and people who are local.
One of my best friends, who happens to be one of my bridesmaids (I only have 4), just called me to confirm the date of the bachelorette. When I tell her, she panics because turns out that her other best friend is getting engaged that same weekend. Her other friend's boyfriend, Tom (30M), just called her to let her know and essentially he's planning a huge proposal with all their friends and family there the same weekend as my bachelorette. She wanted to see if I could move it, which I explained the many reasons why I cannot. I asked if he could move the proposal, she explained that for a thousand other reasons that's the only weekend that works for him... so we're in a pickle.
She texted me after we ended the call explaining how she wants to be there for her other friend, but on the other hand I'm like, well you're choosing to not be there for me. I texted her back I needed some time because I'm so upset. She wasn't at my proposal either because again I don't live in Mexico, and she's local. So not only did she miss my proposal, she's also missing my bachelorette as she's choosing to go to this other friend's proposal. My fiancé is pissed as he thinks a bachelorette is more important than a proposal, especially when you're a bridesmaid. I explained to him that this other friend is her childhood best friend, where she will also be a bridesmaid so I understand it's also important.
But that doesn't change the fact I'm sad, angry, upset, and I 1000% feel like she's choosing someone else over me. I don't have a lot of bridesmaids so the fact that at least one of them is not going is very upsetting to me.
So what can I do? How do I move on from this? What can I tell my friend that lets her know how upset I am without ruining our friendship / making the situation worse for her?
And yes, I am 1000% a people pleaser. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

So i was playing on a server for a few weeks when the devs made and update to expedite the restart time. Ever since then when me and couple of people try and get on the server we get a handshake error. Other people can get into server but us that are on the west coast (not sure if it matters) get the error. If we use a vpn we can get past the errors but the server doesnt allow vpns so we get kicked. I have very little about computers but is it possible for our region to be blocked out by the server or would it be an ip issue or how does that work.

After seeing 2 or 3 of flips decided I was not going to buy one.. They all felt cheap and horrible to me. Here is a local example of someone who almost took this house to the studs and still managed to build a soulless house.. it's also 10 ft from the busiest street in town... listed for 949K now it's down to 595K and still sitting.. perhaps the era of the flip is coming to an end?
