2025.01.22 22:19 PrincessWeissSchnee Why do I always privately shame and scold and attempt to convince myself that I’m not trans? How can I stop such?
My immediate family has been less than supportive of trans people, and I never bothered to tell them I was trans. But growing up, I dealt with negativity from my parents and felt very judged. At different points in my life I was occasionally mocked for things I couldn’t control. For example when I had acne, my dad said that I shouldn’t look like a “pizza face,” which looking back made it sound like having acne was abnormal.
A few different times during my childhood and albeit rather briefly, I felt like I wanted to be a woman. I never spoke out about such for reasons I may never know. (fear of judgement?)
And whenever I feel like I’m trans and also during random moments, I frequently tell myself “You’re a man! Not a woman!” As well as “Mom and dad (who is deceased) would not approve,” “it’s disgusting,” “it’s because of porn,” and “you’re not a real trans woman, you’re fake.”
I feel like years of judgment, suppressing of thoughts, fear, anxiety, being mistreated at different times when I was growing up, not fitting in and just having AuDHD has lead to this and now I fear I have no way to stop it.
Has anyone else been in similar situations? Have they ever managed to stop such negative thoughts?

i (18m) decided to be gay because no girls seem to be interested in me. when i was in elementary school girls used to make fun of me because i was skinny and had floppy ears so much to that point that i started to hate female gender. i decided to hust hangout with boys and dont really talk to girls. i went to boys only high school so i didnt really get to talk or hangout with girls. but when i tried i also got made fun of so i just got distant from them. same thing happened in college so i just accepted the fact that no girls like me and that i should switch teams and become gay. no one know this and no one knows me on reddit so i decided to post it here

Hey all! I’m about to launch for the first time in production arq, and I’d love to hear how others (with more experience with it in prod) are handling observability for it.
Context:
I have a FastAPI app that enqueues various tasks in arq. A big part of my system’s core functionality (and value) of my product relies on these tasks running properly so it's critical for me to have some sort of observability tracking.
For FastAPI itself, I use the free tier of Sentry, which has worked well for tracking errors and performance issues. However, I’m not sure what the best approach is for monitoring arq tasks. I know Sentry has an "arq" plugin/integration... but seems that is available for the ones who pay.
The only thing that comes into my mind is to have some self-hosted solution using OTel + Grafana (spans) / prometheus (metrics).
