I have a mechanical room in my basement that has a furnace stack in it that was not designed for air conditioning. The modulating furnace uses 2" flex ducts to each room throughout the house and the furnace runs low and slow to comfortably distribute heat throughout the house. The return air for the furnace pulls directly from the mechanical room, the mechanical room has large vents in the walls to allow it to pull air from the rest of the basement and the central open stairwell to upstairs. I am wondering if I added a large minisplit to my mechanical room and ran the furnace fan continuously, would I get adequate cooling performance to all rooms in the house? I know this isn't optimal, but my house is nearly passive house air tightness and performance (R value, windows, etc.)

My beautiful mother passed away in September 2023 at the age of 43 after a long battle with cancer. While I am still young, there is one big fear that has plagued my mind as of late - that I fear forgetting. I fear forgetting her, I fear forgetting all the wonderful memories and experiences she’s given me. I generally fear forgetting in general, forgetting all I’ve ever known and all my connections.
But while I may fear forgetting, I do not fear being forgotten. There will come a day far in the future where we will be forgotten, lost to time. But if you can make a big enough impact on someone’s life, like my mother did to me, then I think it’s worth the price of being forgotten.
I can handle the idea that I will be forgotten eventually. But the thought that I will forget is terrifying and heartbreaking.

How do you deal with things such as meeting with the seller, getting pics of the home, more specifically your buyer wanting to meet you at the house to see it in person... Do you just have the buyer go in person themselves and meet with the seller? Any advice is appreciated, thanks

there was one graphic novel i read that was ancient greece themed and the only scene i remember was the main character approaches two guards and it was the classic “one of us is telling the truth and the other lies” and the main character punched one and said “did that hurt?” and that’s all i remember about the plot. i feel like the entire book was with blue and black ink, and the cover was blue and white. the title was written in a classic ancient greek font. does anyone know this book?

 | So i've never worked on gas furnaces before and my buddy's furnace is acting weird. Everytime it reaches the desired temperature, the furnace stops working. It still blows air but theres no combustion and the combustion fan (i think?) doesnt work. If i set the temperature higher on the thermostat it still wont work, it only works again if i reset the machine and again it will stop once it reaches the set temperature but wont start again on its own when the temperature drops. I made sure the condensate drains arent clogged. Theres and error code that says something like "low pressure switch open during ignition". Being that this group is anti-diet culture, are you feeling medically supported by your doctor s that you're taking the glp1 and not following a strict diet or depriving yourself? I asked because my doctor is recommending I eat like 500 calorie meals throughout the day which I tried doing before and was starving and still gaining weight somehow. So I was wondering if you guys had doctors that were understanding that you're not falling a strict diet but maybe you're indulging in moderation?
