2025.01.23 01:22 NewBang AMD Powercolor 7900xt crashing, hot temps
I recently built a new PC a couple months back. There were no issue for a few months.
Suddenly, about a couple weeks ago. The GPU started crashing. Usually in the middle of a game, but once even when I was just browsing the web. Monitor would just go black.
A restart would fix it, but then windows would also not recognize the AMD drivers so I would have to uninstall using DDU, then reinstall Adrenalin again.
I think the problem is hot temperatures. I have a small PC, so cooling is not the best. But still - today I noticed it was coil whining (never heard it before) as soon as I opened a game (counter strike 2). And when I left the pc just idling on the menu screen, the gpu memory temp went all the way up to 90 degrees where I believe it throttles.
I remember running cinemark when I first built the PC, and monitoring temps, performance was good and temperatures looks reasonably normal. So i have no idea what’s caused this, is it just time to RMA the card?

Explain like you would to a toddler please, I have read materials and some threads however I feel like I’m reading in a different language with the terminology used. I simply am out of my element here.
We are upgrading our system from oil furnace to HE gas. We have asked for an air purifier because we have pets and I am allergic to said pets. We also are financing this fully with 0% interest for 7 years through our gas provider and think that alone is worth the “splurge”.
We were given the option between the two systems in the title and can see pros and cons to both options. I personally like how low maintenance the iWave is compared to the pure air system and it is about half the upfront cost and am leaning in that direction.
Out of these two options, which would you choose and why?

But then it creeps into even technical or narrow topic subs. So people will stop visiting those, and that's the main value of Reddit.
Then there's the delinking.
So then Reddit's stock is likely to drop, and it would already be a much cheaper buy than Twitter was.

2025.01.23 01:22 Fussy-Platypus College to Officer or doing what I want and enlisting
My parents want me to be an officer if I go into the military but I want to enlist. They say I should go to college, live the college life, get the experience, and become an officer. I want to enlist however and follow the tradition of my uncles who enlisted in the USMC. They say military can wait and college after at an older age is much more mundane and boring (almost like it’s a job). I can go to college and enlist but I’ve heard people say I’d be stupid for that. I want to go infantry and do infantry things but people have said officers plan, enlisted do (meaning I choose the field to manage but I can’t actually do that job). I understand the value of education and and heard you can get a degree as enlisted (but supposedly it sucks and is hard to achieve with all the other stuff going on). Btw yes I know the enlisted life compared to college/officer life sucks but can’t seem to figure out a choice. I still have a young mind easily persuaded by tv shows and recruiting material. Is doing what makes me happy better than doing that other people think is better? Please give me some insight and don’t just say “listen to your parents” or “you do do”. Please give me a reasoning/explanation to your answers.

First of all yes we’ve been to the vet!
Earlier today my dog just had a random seizure! He just fell off the bed and started yelping, was shaking really badly and extending his back legs. And couldn’t stand up! He weed on himself and seemed to be in pain. It was horrible!! Then all of a sudden it was over! and he was shaken up and panting a lot! I called the vets and took him in straight away. They are running some tests but said it could be any number of things? Has anyone ever experienced anything this? Now he’s absolutely fine and you wouldn’t know it had happened. He is only 4.
