Sounds like a dead alternator to me. At least a dead voltage regulator in the alternator. The voltage regulator can be easily replaced without removing the alternator most of the time, and usually is cheap so worth a try. Nevertheless, you should definitely clean those connectors and terminals every now and then. – Best case scenario, the regulator pops and the alternator stops working altogether. Worst case scenario, the regulator overloads the new battery, which damages the battery and fries the alternator. This can also lead to catastrophic damages to the vehicle's ECM/ECU. It doesn't have a tensioner. (Tension is applied by moving the alternator and tightening the nut on its bracket.) The noise is definitely from the alternator pulley/bearing, not the belt. The sound goes away when the revs increase; The sound goes away when I spray a lubricant in the small gap between pulley and alternator housing. Bought a replacement alternator but I am sending it back as I measured and have seen it running over 16.5V. The manual says the regulator should keep it to a max of about 14.5V. I put a brand new and fully charged battery in at the same time the alternator was changed, so I don't think the battery can be blamed. Many alternators are now controlled by the engine ecu and have very detailed charging regimes, also the ecu will shut down the alternator totally under certain conditions. The only way to find out what your alternator does is read the workshop manual and it won’t tell you everything as it is basically a build or test guide. – A car alternator will be more than capable of charging two batteries. However you need to be more careful about connecting two batteries together if one is charged and the other is not. There will be no current limiting in the circuit, so you could easily exceed the manufacturers maximum charging current of the flat battery. Buying a replacement alternator for a 1984 toyota I suspect the magnet in it is not new and fresh most likely repurposed so the self-exciting problem would persist on a new alternator specifically because of a not strong magnetic. normally an alternator would turn on within 10 seconds with engine rpm over 1500. Now the old alternator had a higher output impedance meaning that current limiting was not needed. In other words the old alternator was more idiot proof then the generator. Auto sparkie polytech courses stated that "You don't need current limiting with an alternator." I agreed with the tutors, but that was when I was thin and had thick hair. The terminal voltage going down to 13.1v suggests the battery is not charging, and may be discharging, unless the battery is very low. The alternator or the battery is probably in poor condition. The alternator will charge the battery at a constant voltage (usually 13.8, or 14.2), and electively never a constant current. An alternator that can provide full charging current would be far larger requiring bigger rotor and stator windings. This would make it more expensive and heavier. The manufacturers are using the fact that you only spend a small amount of time idling compared to driving to their advantage.

Most of the replacement part that I can find online are for a 2010 model and I was wondering if the part would be compatible. All sellers of the '09 part are significantly less reliable for me. 2025.01.22 22:14 doomsdaymelody PSA for people getting their transmission fluid replaced at a shop instead of doing it on your own.
I paid the shop that did an engine rebuild for me to also swap the trans fluid while it was down. I thought everything went well, there were a few minor things that popped up after having the engine rebuilt that have been addressed, and then one day I was noticing weird shift quality and most notably a lot of transmission whine, particularly in lower gears.
So I went back to the work order to verify that the transmission had indeed been serviced and it said right there they put in 6 quarts of Idemitsu Type HK4. I wander over to idemitsu's website to discover that this fluid meets or exceeds HyundaI/Kia SP-IV requirements. The Genesis coupe, however has its own specification: SP-IV-RR. I email idemitsu, to ask if their fluid meets SP-IV-RR and it does not. So I start digging and find this TSB, which states that according to Hyundai SP-IV M and SP-IV-RR are NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. This is further reinforced by the TSB listed next to the Genesis Coupe on the above TSB, which makes the same callout but underlines the RR in the specification for the fluid.
I bring this and my noise/shift complaints to the shops attention and they have, as of now, agreed to fix their mistake as soon as they can get the fluid. As far as either myself or this shop can tell, there are only 2 manufacturers that actually manufacture a fluid in the spec and its between Hyundai's OEM fluid and Ravenol. I spent a good bit of time trying to figure out what the SP-IV-RR specification actually is and as of this post I haven't actually found any info on the fluid spec itself. So if you are going to a shop to get a transmission service, make sure you know what fluid they're putting in the car and make sure that fluid hits the right specification.

I 23F two weeks ago, I was out with friends celebrating my friend’s 23rd birthday. While we were hanging out, this guy approached us. 33M drove up in his BMW, looked directly at me, and said, “Hey, I’m looking at you. I want to talk to you.” I wasn’t expecting it, especially since I wasn’t thinking about relationships or anything like that. But he made it clear he was interested in me, not anyone else in the group.
Since then, we’ve gotten to know each other more. He’s shown me that he’s not only very attentive but also a big spender and a true provider. From the start, he made sure my friends and I had a great time—he was buying food, drinks, and driving us around wherever we wanted. On my friend’s birthday, he went all out, and I couldn’t help but wonder if it was to impress me or if that’s just how he is.
What stands out about him is that he makes it a priority to take care of the person he’s with. He ensures his partner never struggles or goes without something they need. He’s very financially stable and believes it’s his responsibility to step in and support his woman when she’s stuck or in any difficult situation. He prioritizes his partner’s safety and well-being above all else, which I find really admirable.
While I canceled the first two dates he invited me on because I didn’t like the venues, I eventually agreed to a third date, and he took me to a fine dining restaurant. It was lovely, and afterward, I asked to spend more time with him at his place. Although he initially wanted to drop me off at home, he agreed. Things progressed, and we ended up spending the night together. He’s been respectful and supportive . He’s also very attentive to my needs , we have great communication. We text and call daily, though sometimes he’ll leave me on delivered for a few hours, which I understand since we both have demanding jobs.
Here’s where I need advice. I’m leaving next month to work abroad, and while I’ve emphasized wanting to spend as much time with him as possible before I leave, I don’t want to come across as pushy. He’s supportive of my plans and has even talked about making a long-distance relationship work, meeting during vacations, and building a future together.
The truth is, I’m confused. I really like him—he’s everything I’d want in a partner—but I’ve only known him for a few weeks, and I’m afraid of getting too emotionally attached. I wish I had someone older or more experienced to guide me through this, but I’ve always learned about relationships the hard way.
How do I balance exploring this connection while keeping my focus on my plans to work abroad? Should I let things unfold naturally, or should I be more cautious?

Depois de mais de 20 anos de Vivo(da época que ainda era Telesp, e depois Telefónica) na nossa casa, a gente pulou fora por conta de preços altos(e péssimo atendimento) e caímos na Claro, que oferecia muito mais por menos do que seria o equivalente da Vivo.
Volta e meia tá dando dor de cabeça aqui em casa e tá tendo que chamar técnico aqui, e assim que a gente puder rasgar o contrato(porque ainda tem uns meses de fidelidade) e a gente se mudar, eu tava pensando de pedir o combo mais caro da Desktop(que é o Giga Black + TV Total), de 390 reais, que diz ter WiFi 6, 1Gbps de velocidade, e um plano de TV incluso, junto com assinaturas de Max, Globoplay e Paramount+, e um atendimento um pouco melhor do que nos planos normais(que eu suponho que deva ser algo parecido com os planos nível V da Vivo, onde a gente conseguia falar diretamente com o supervisor regional daqui e resolvia tudo direto com ele), mas ainda tenho minhas dúvidas quanto à qualidade do serviço, falam muito que eles gostam de limitar velocidade e coisas do tipo(mas já vi isso tb ser relatado na Vero, que recentemente comprou a AmericaNet aqui, que era bem razoável onde pegava na minha cidade, o nosso bairro não sendo um dos atendidos infelizmente), então eu gostaria de saber se alguém do sub tem experiência com essa operadora e possa me dizer se vale a pena ou não, pq aqui só tem basicamente Claro, Vivo, Algar(que não tem plano de TV, infelizmente), Vero/AmericaNet(tb sem plano de TV, apesar que em ambos os casos eu pessoalmente pediria a Sky+ pq a gente tem Roku Express em casa e uma TV da LG que pega o app de boas), e essa Desktop.
