Depois de mais de 20 anos de Vivo(da época que ainda era Telesp, e depois Telefónica) na nossa casa, a gente pulou fora por conta de preços altos(e péssimo atendimento) e caÃmos na Claro, que oferecia muito mais por menos do que seria o equivalente da Vivo.
Volta e meia tá dando dor de cabeça aqui em casa e tá tendo que chamar técnico aqui, e assim que a gente puder rasgar o contrato(porque ainda tem uns meses de fidelidade) e a gente se mudar, eu tava pensando de pedir o combo mais caro da Desktop(que é o Giga Black + TV Total), de 390 reais, que diz ter WiFi 6, 1Gbps de velocidade, e um plano de TV incluso, junto com assinaturas de Max, Globoplay e Paramount+, e um atendimento um pouco melhor do que nos planos normais(que eu suponho que deva ser algo parecido com os planos nÃvel V da Vivo, onde a gente conseguia falar diretamente com o supervisor regional daqui e resolvia tudo direto com ele), mas ainda tenho minhas dúvidas quanto à qualidade do serviço, falam muito que eles gostam de limitar velocidade e coisas do tipo(mas já vi isso tb ser relatado na Vero, que recentemente comprou a AmericaNet aqui, que era bem razoável onde pegava na minha cidade, o nosso bairro não sendo um dos atendidos infelizmente), então eu gostaria de saber se alguém do sub tem experiência com essa operadora e possa me dizer se vale a pena ou não, pq aqui só tem basicamente Claro, Vivo, Algar(que não tem plano de TV, infelizmente), Vero/AmericaNet(tb sem plano de TV, apesar que em ambos os casos eu pessoalmente pediria a Sky+ pq a gente tem Roku Express em casa e uma TV da LG que pega o app de boas), e essa Desktop.

So... My fixed time contract is ending and will not get renewed. I will have 4 months of unemployment which I will use to continue working (PhD life). Say, I find a job on month 2 but I want to delay the start to month 6 to actually get some rest after finishing the PhD. How does it work in a situation like this? I couldnt find anything in their website or reddit. Will I have to continue job hunting on month 3 and 4 to receive the benefit? Or can I just "chill" from the moment I find a job, even though it will start later?

There's so much going on, so idk if people are keeping up with this, but lately a lot of politicians and public figures (Trump and RFK jr. chief among them) have been pushing for more forced treatment.
All of us here know forced treatment still exists. Every state still has state hospitals. There's conservatorships, involuntary inpatient stays, mental health/drug court, forced medication, and the troubled teen industry, to name a few aspects. So the story that this fully went away is a myth. It didn't work and was too expensive (esp when they couldnt use as much patient labor), so advocates pushed for community programs. Programs we didn't get. So of course they didn't work, and now we will undergo a new era of asylums.
This could be ramped up quite a bit if poverty/homelessness is psychiatrized. Unhoused ppl don't need CBT and haldol shots, they need a home.
I was institutionalized for almost seven years straight, and it never made me well. At best, it made me a good, compliant patient. That's all these places can do. A total institution fundamentally cannot teach you how to live well outside it. This is something I struggle with every day.
In a silly way, I only had access to this bc of my privilege - bc I had insurance thru my dad, and then inheritance when he died so it was possible for my abusive ex-therapist to keep me in these places. Most were relatively nice, esp b4 my dad passed away. (like, three ppl in a bedroom max, no rodents, enough time w therapist, non-abusive floor staff. the basics) But some are awful and forced us to work as part of our 'program' (but rly to save them money). That will be what its like. Abusive staff, forced medication, restraint, seclusion. We're fucked guys.
I want to protect people from this, but on top of everything I got long COVID working in a halfway house (i was so psych pilled back in the day thank god now i can spend all my time reading theory cuz i cant walk for long!) Please please don't be mean in the comments. I know I'm terrible.
