Hi! I’m going to buy one of the more user friendly hydroponics towers in the next week or so. I’ve done a bunch of research, but I can’t decide between the Gardyn or the Lettuce Grow.
The Gardyn home is a bit cheaper, holds more plants than all but the most attachments option on the Lettuce Grow indoor farm stand, and people seem to really like it. What gives me pause is mostly that you can only control it with the app, through WiFi, and I don’t have consistent enough wifi to feel good about that. I also don’t really like the subscription model even though you can stop and start, and I don’t really care about the cameras so it bothers me that I’d be paying for them.
The Lettuce Grow seems like the only comparable option that isn’t app controlled but is still user friendly, and it still looks nice and seems to work well. I do see in this sub that a lot of you seem to have leaking issues? Am I for sure correct that you don’t have to use the app to control it? I see in their description that it works best with at least six hours of full sunlight, even with the grow rings. It’s going in a fairly sunny room, but in a corner where it’ll get more like 3 hours. Will that be okay? Also, they send live seedlings but I’m in New England in January, how does that work?
If you had it to do over again, would you go for the Gardyn or Lettuce Grow? Or a different thing? Any advice is appreciated!

Here's a little something different - those of you who didn't learn how to maintain your cars from your fathers (or mothers), where did you learn?
I would love to know a little more, at least enough to know when a mechanic might be trying to pull one over on me (I can put in new windshield washing fluid, but otherwise under the hood just looks like a mechanical mess to my untrained eye), and there aren't any classes in my area (don't even know if colleges have night classes for things like that anymore, I know some did two decades ago but I didn't have my license then). I know there's the internet, but on one side there's the sheer volume of information and no way for me to tell what's factual/helpful and what isn't, but also a certain amount of "I don't know what I don't know, so how do I ask the right questions".
Plus I thought it would be an interesting topic to talk about.
So where did you learn, and what sorts of resources have you found to be helpful? (And if anyone wants to chime in, do any of you plan on trying to teach your daughters if you have them?)

so i set up my dual boot to fedora kde everything is fine except bluetooth. Im new to this so i was struggling to fix it i went trough many posts looking for similar problem but nothing worked. But switching audio profile from High Fidelity Payback to Headset Head Unit made it work without stuttering but that makes sound really really low quality. Does anybody have any solution to make those higher quality sound profiles work?

Trying to decide between PM2 in cruwear or Manix 2 in cruwear. I have a PM2 in S45VN and a Manix 2 in S30V. The PM2 cruwear looks like it costs around $37 more than the Manix 2 cruwear. On price alone, it seems like the Manix 2 is a better choice. I like both models. Of course, Spyderco came out with Manix 2 in magnacut with G10. No idea when they will come available.
Thoughts?
