2025.01.23 01:26 Only_Bodybuilder217 How make carbonated sweet kombucha?
Newcomer here. I've made sucessful batches of sweet carbonated kombucha before, but it was more just by accident rather than intention.
Is the ability to have a sorry carbonated kombucha simply timing??? As in, if you left it longer it would create a bottle bomb or a over-soured kombucha?
It makes me wonder how commercial kombucha makers do this without heat treatment and sterilizing the kombuchabefore sale? Do they just rely on refrigeration to hold that kombucha at a half-fermemted state for a few weeks from shelf to consumer?
To me that says you can't really create a shelf stable, living cultured kombucha with carbonation and sweetness can you? And even if it's refrigerated, it will continue to ferment slowly in the fridge and will only last a couple of weeks before creating a bottle bomb?
On a side note I'm aware you can use non fermentable sugars, but I'm not really interested in those.

hii! i'm an ontario gr12 who would be moving to ottawa and living on res first year, ideally i'd like a traditional plus room (which seems to be henderson or rideau, henderson being 20k on the uottawa website), id like to aim bigger like 90u but in early 2024 my dad lost his job and my mother cannot afford to send me off to university at all, so i havta forget about luxuries as well due to living in a single income household supporting four people. i understand uottawa has all fees and deadlines posted on their website but im having a hard time really putting together a proper estimate. room + meal plan = 20.5k, polisci tuition per term being 3k, and all these other things that seem almost incomprehensible. i'm so overwhelmed attempting to calculate this, do you have to pay (what seems to be) around 25k upfront? honestly i'm just hoping another somebody who had the same plans as me for first year will be able to give advice. i'd also love some clarification on student loans, debt, and if it's necessary to pay these kinds of fees upfront. sorry if this is demanding or really complicated
