 | Hi, My family is in the unfortunate position where I need to reach out wherever I can for help. My wife lost her kidneys 18 years ago to Goodpasture Syndrome. She received a living donor transplant then. That transplant failed last year and she is currently on dialysis. We have been unable to find a donor and the wait list is a 5 year wait minimum. On top of this I have been out of work since August. My industry (tv post production) has been slowly dying. It is a freelance world and all of my contacts are not hiring as they have no projects being greenlit by networks. My last job wanted to hire me fulltime, up until my wife got hospitalized. I needed to be more hands on at home and while the accommodated me, I felt a severe shift in their respect for me. Instead of hiring me full time they released me as soon as they could. We also have 4 children at home. One has severe autism and another is tracheostomy dependant. Obviously this not only added to my need to be more family oriented, but did not help our financial situation due to medical bills. We are behind on our mortgage and our utilities. Every week we struggle to pay for groceries. Our families help as much as they can but it only helps so much. 2025.01.23 02:33 SakmaDecksDecks Is a lv 1 dip in cleric still good in 2024e?
I planned to be a bard who has a cleric dip for my lore in my character who used to be in a clergy before running away after learning the truth. I thought it would be good to have a cleric dip to get some good support spells(buffs,debuffs, ect.), and a free subclass, picking order domain for the VoA feature so I can help the two rogues and paladin in my party. But when I dig a little deeper, I realized they nerfed the cleric so that they can only get their subclass at lv 3.
The news made me doubt and think I should be a full bard instead. The lv 1 benefits are either a proficiency in martial weapons and heavy armor or a free cantrip, and I don't think they're particularly needed for my build. I don't plan on being a tanky melee user and the free cantrip will be redundant(in my opinion) since I have the acolyte background.
Should I still keep the cleric dip build I planned ? Or should I trust my gut and go full bard instead

I'm starting a project in which, in essence, I am required to read a sensor over UART and transmit the findings to the android (and iOS) phones via Bluetooth. I've never worked on BT or BLE before but have ample experience in other STM32 peripheral development. Therefore I've got 2 choices, 1 is to use STM32WB MCU for the entire system, or 2 to use STM32L4 along with Lyra P (UART to preconfigured BLE) module.
I want to seek advice from fellow developers on which way is the best in terms of easy and fast firmware development, robust design and future improvements (and additional whatever points of consideration that could be in embedded systems development). Kindly also provide where I could encounter limitations in the design if I select the either of STM32WB or Lyra P.
Another thing is, when I opened the MCU selector for the STM32WB series, it gave a way too long a list of the choices, how do you select an optimal MCU for a project.

2025.01.23 02:33 NennexGaming What exactly is Gaea's (or any 3rd party terrain generator) purpose in the workflow with UE5?
I'm in the process of learning Gaea (along with it's implementation into UE5) and one thing that isnt really explained it's purpose, or more specifically what it does that UE5 isn't able to. I see plenty of similar-quality environments on ArtStation that use one or the other (yes, some that still use both), so I'm less inclined to believe that it's purely for it's high realism.
