As many of you know, the recently US administration put a pause on all communications, meetings, and public engagement from health agencies (NIH/FDA/CDC/HHS). There was also apparently pausing on all study sections (which reviews federal grants) and lots of concerns on elimination of grants associated with diversity initiatives. This is BADBAD.
But what can we do about it? Would anyone be interesting in organizing? Is it time to start rioting?

Could somebody help me with some bad lagging thats going on? About every minute or so, my game lags to something like 2 fps for a couple of seconds and then go back to full speed. I'm running it on a computer with a 4080 and a 24 core i9-13900H. Is it really my specs or is there a weird graphics setting I'm not seeing? I've looked online a bit but mostly the solutions involve adjusting parallex and frame skipping, which haven't helped. I would SUPER appreciate anyones help.

Last night I had many dreams, but of these many dreams one of them was me seeing a good friend of mine and his appearance was different, he gained some weight but he looked happy and I hugged him and told him looked great. Water was just leaking out of my eyes like a fountain very similar to crying but we smiled and the dream ended. I woke up and checked my phone seeing a text that my friend in my dream had died in a shootout while I was asleep. I check the news and there it is I see my friend really is dead, I’ve been tripping out since just thinking of how tf this happened, could it have been his spirit telling me goodbye in my dreams… never experienced anything like this but I’m wondering if anyone has had anything similar happen to them.

I find that whenever I get something I want to write about, I sit down and completely write a song that already exists in the back of my mind. I have never had any sort of original melody idea or anything similar and it’s been frustrating.
Usually I’ll sit down, create a progression, create a rhythm, and create a melody just to realize I’m completely copying every single detail of a song I’ve already heard. It’s extremely frustrating because it’s happened almost every single time I’ve tried to write a song. Any advice?

I am a nurse assistant who works at a nursing home. One patient constantly puts complaints in who’s only lived there a month. She told one of my coworkers she’s not allowed in the room because she has terrible energy or doesn’t like her attitude. One time, when I was changing her, I accidentally touched her leg, and I guess it was sensitive, and she told me, “You're lucky Im nice, or I would smack you.”
She’s also super picky. Sometimes, I spend 20 minutes in the room adjusting her pillow because she says it’s not right no matter what position we put it in. She also tried to start arguments with me multiple times. One time, my coworker and I were helping her with the pillow for about 20 minutes while we had 15 other patients. Neither of us was talking to her in a tone of voice, and she said something to the effect of, “It doesn’t seem like you guys even wanna be here.”
Recently, I was helping her change because she peed all over the floor when I was taking her to the bathroom. I was pulling up her pants, and I guess they were too tight or something, and it hurt, and she got upset. I asked her in a monotone type of voice, “How is pulling up the pants hurting you or in what way?” so that I could help her understand how pulling up the pants was hurting her because I wasn’t doing it in a hard type of way.
She got angry at me and implied that I was rude, saying, “Treat me like your mother or I’m a person too,” basically implying that someway I’m abusing her or mistreating her when sometimes I spend 30/40 minutes, just trying to help her and not rush her. I told her I was not being rude to her and I’d helped her multiple times, and I put her back in her chair in front of her TV with her tissues, her phone, and her water, and I told her, “I’m not gonna get in an argument I’m leaving the room.”
After I left the room, she called her son crying, saying that I was mean and rude and that I just stormed out of the room. She also called the nurse and told me I was mean and rude. She called me back in the room to say, “ I’m a nice person. I’ve never been treated in this type of way. It’s unacceptable how you’re treating me. I called my son and told him how you just stormed out of the room .” even though no way I’ve been rude to her at all, and I told her that.
Am I the asshole for however responded? Am I the asshole, or am I standing up for myself?

My fiancé and I have been in quite a bad spot with these guys for over a year.
If you live here and your things are never fixed please let me know. We’re filing against them before we submit a 60 day notice that we’re leaving our lease prematurely.
Here is a list of problems from google reviews:
Yellow Sludge running down walls, particularly bathroom Fires in apartments forcing you to leave your apartment, or be caught in the multiple fires this year furnace heat not holding temperature and ignored by management staff or written off as lifestyle choices Air Conditioning does not reach or hold temperature and ignored by management staff, or told ac doesn’t work because you live on a second floor (?????????) doors and windows not sealed, to the extent you can see daylight and feel a strong breeze matching outside temperature, but told these problems were fixed laundry machines not being fixed, water all over the floors from flooded washing machines with exposed electrical wires in puddles slips and falls on neglected snow and ice management no soundproofing no insulationIf ANY of these apply to you PLEASE help a brother out, help you out. We have money to take these guys to serious court and I want to gather as much evidence as possible us ALL here at Govenours square so we can ALL be taken care of.
This theft has to stop.
I’m an unemployed college graduate who grew up right down the street. I studied agriculture, and I know this is going to take some heft. Perhaps I can even help us all get our moneys worth.
