In the series I’m working on vampires are a core part of its story and themes, vampires can represent the horrors of immortality, lost souls, the worst parts of human nature and dead forms of political and/or economic power
vampires as a species have existed for nearly 200,000 years in the lore, No one knows their origins and the oldest vampires in history are treated as figures from mythology, legends are spread across the lands about them, there’s even religions formed around them that revere them as deities
the progenitor vampires have four fangs two on top then two on the bottom, they have sharp claws, pale skin, they have telepathy they don’t die in the sunlight but the sun does weaken them,it makes them vulnerable to being staked sired vampires have two fangs and no claws, pale skin they die in the sunlight it burns them to ash
as undead creatures vampires don’t eat, breathe, sleep can survive being decapitated and dismembered, they have incredible healing factors and are immune to all non magical or spiritual attacks so no amount of guns, bombs, nukes is gonna put a dent in them
Plunging a wooden stake into a vampires heart is the only way to kill it and to be clear it has to be a stake, wooden bullets do nothing but that’s just for the sired vampires lotuses can harm them, slow them down but it’ll only delay the inevitable if you don’t act
oh and lycanthropes, lycans claws and fangs have potent amounts of vampires weaknesses, If they manage to slash or bite a vampire the attack releases this combination into a vampires system and the magic it produces attacks the supernatural healing response preventing the wound from being healed quickly, Now this won’t kill a vampire but it will keep it down for a few days
I have more ideas I’m working on, I’ll share them if anyone wants to know

Hello I bought and ipad 9th gen two days ago second hand from someone. When I arrived home and tried to configure it, after selecting language an error popped up showing remote controle active for a company outside my country.
I've been trying to get in touch with that person to return the iPad but I was curious what this error means and if there's anything to be done about it.
The other owner bought it online from someone 1-2 years ago and had no issues with it, had his iCloud connected and the iPad had no issues with this error before from what he said. From things I've read online it seems like the iPad might have been stolen 1-2 years ago and sold to him, but when he factory reset it to sell it to me it began showing that it actually belongs to some company in Germany.
All the help is welcomed. Thank you !

Hi, I am a layperson looking for information on CSF dynamics following resection of the brain, specifically the right temporal lobe but would happily accept general articles or discussion.
I am trying to see if there’s a consensus for what would be considered the optimal positioning for the head during recovery, if the ICP could be in normal range yet still be putting pressure on the brain stem due to positioning.
I would also be interested in any articles on intracranial drain complications such as prolonged intracranial bleeding post-placement and discolouration of the CSF.
Any discussion of why someone may have no response to peripheral or central stimuli but able to move their toes on command would be great.

2025.01.23 05:52 AsDaylight_Dies Do we games really need that much VRAM?
I'm not asking in practical terms, I understand that some games require 8+GB of VRAM to run at 1440p these days. However, it feels like these numbers are artificially inflated simply because they can be. For instance, Battlefield 1 looks stunning at 1440p and only uses about 4.5GB on my 3070 at max settings. I managed to play Cyberpunk at medium-high with DLSS quality, and it never exceeded 7GB, RDR2 in 4K used 7GB at max settings. The only game where I feel genuinely VRAM-limited at 1440p is Silent Hill 2 and doesn't necessarily look better than RDR2.
These modern games certainly look great, but why do they consume so much VRAM when older titles that look just as impressive use significantly less? The only reason I'm considering upgrading to a 4070 12GB is because it seems like having 10GB will soon be a necessity, even at 1440p. I play with RT off.
Do game developers increase VRAM usage to force users to upgrade GPUs? Or do GPU manufacturers just add so much VRAM to their card where developers don't care to optimize?

Li todos os comentários, as dicas, pra termos uma conversa franca sobre a situação. De fato, quem citou que ele tem o polo feminino mais aflorado, acertou. Propus que fizéssemos um teste de papéis de gêneros, nessa questão da polarização etc etc, e deu que eu sou uma pessoa bem mais proativa e decidida que ele. Isso me morga absurdamente. Já tive outros relacionamentos onde eu me sentia mais feminina, e pode ser que a falta de vontade de transar esteja nessa questão. Não posso simplesmente chegar pra ele e cobrar que ele seja mais masculino ou então que mude a personalidade, porque é um traço de quem ele é, e eu ser o polo ativo entre nós dois, também é um traço de quem eu sou. Vi algumas pessoas citando que estou fantasiando e sendo uma viciada em “pornô feminino”, querendo um dark romance kkkkk não é nada disso, gente. Citei que sinto atração e interesse por sexo porque há livros onde os personagens me despertam interesse, e não são livros doentios, são livros onde os caras agem como OS CARAS do relacionamento. Sinto falta disso. Outro detalhe é que não gosto muito de toque físico, a menos q tenha um propósito, e meu namorado é absurdamente grudento. Ele leva essa minha aversão como brincadeira, quando é algo que de fato, desde criança, me gera desconforto, e já conversamos sobre (n adiantou, ele acha que tô de marrinha besta). Isso só agrava meu estado, acabo ficando muito abusada e com o temperamento bem à flor da pele. Estou cogitando terminar, sou muito nova pra me sentir dessa forma e acho q tbm estaria libertando ele pra estar com outra pessoa que se adeque mais aos conformes dele. We just put down our sweet 10 year old Nala today and we got so lucky with timing. We adopted her 8.5 years ago from the humane society. She had a history of nipping people, allergies and was a pit bull, so very low chances of being adopted out. We gave her the best life, taking her camping, boating, swimming, on road trips and to all sorts of places. She never snapped at anyone ever again, and was incredibly spoiled and cuddled to the end.
We always joked that the pandemic was the best thing to ever happen to her, since she had separation anxiety and got to spend every day after February 2020 laying on king beds and watching us work.
She got diagnosed with lymphoma in October 2023, and after a few rounds of chemo was also diagnosed with sarcoma. She had skin allergies her whole life and ended up getting a MRSA skin infection in late 2024. A few days ago, she got an infection in her toe. We thought like everything else, it would go away with a little treatment, but it just got worse. It spread up her leg to the point where the edema was pitting over her whole leg. We scheduled her euthanasia for today after she stumbled hard on Monday. As of this morning she couldn't go to the bathroom without us holding her up. She still had great spirits but we were having to really up her pain medication.
She got to have bananas for breakfast, donuts for lunch, and a maple bacon donut cheeseburger for dinner today. She went out with us holding her and telling her what a good girl she was. She really was the best. I'm going to miss her so much.

I've googled how many catalytic convertors this car has and received mixed answers of 2 & 3.
Looking to purchase the car the owner said the catalytic convertor was stolen.
He's unsure how many it needs.
I have no idea how to get a definite answer and also no idea how to even know what size or type of catalytic convertor(s) is correct for it?
Can someone steer me in the right direction?
