Hi everyone, can anyone guide me a bit. Going through rough midlife crisis. So the thing is I am the eldest son and family is looking upto me for the support. And are pushing me to go abroad for master's. Which I am trying. And alot of stuff like that. First they were of the opinion that I should go to USA. I was accepted to University of Michigan Dearborn with a scholarship in MS AI for Winter 2025. I applied for the visa in Mid November 2024. And I have been put in administrative processing 221(G) since then under TAL(Technology Alert List). Most of the questions in the interview were about my studies and research. USA is on the list. I have deferred my admission to Fall 2025. And will reapply for visa soon.
So my profile is: Undergrad: BSCS CGPA: 3.15 Field of Interest: AI and Computer Vision Research: Conference Research Paper related to Computer Vision presented remotely in Australia. Published in IEEE. Work Experience: 2 months internship(Computer Vision intern), 4 months ongoing remote job(Jr Computer Vision Developer) IELTS: 7/9(no less than 6.5 bands in individual parts) Financing: my family can hardly support as I come from a middle class family
Goals: 1. At least two publications in top notch AI conferences 2. AI or Computer Vision related job in big tech companies.
The reason I want to go for Master's abroad is because the credibility and quality of research is null here especially in AI, whereas the world is making rapid development. And secondly as I am working in a Pakistani startup, they focus more on jugaad and getting thing quickly rather than focusing on development and quality. This there's not much of learning.
Based on my profile and goals can anyone guide what other countries should I apply to? Which can grant me admission in Master's in AI or Computer Vision with funding or scholarship. I am ready for research assistantship as well because it aligns with my goals. I will be really thankful for your support as I have no one around who can genuinely guide me.
And can I have a chance of Germany if I get an admission in a German university? Referring to the new visa appointment system by German Embassy, Islamabad.

2025.01.23 12:15 Jonacle_ No way to limit rows of messages for twitch chat (JS not working properly)
Hey yall!
So the problem is this:
I've tried many ways to make it so when a person writes something in twitch and that message either extends 2-3 rows OR is more than 130~ chars it does not show it fully and puts (...) at the end of the message - JUST to make the chat overlay look not overcrowded with long messages.
Problem is - it DOES NOT WORK.
Tried: Personal knowledge of JavaScript

So Iām playing with Mr. Octopus, my opponent is playing with the truck (?). I match 3 lightning bolts and donāt hit one blue tile. My opponent goes, matches one lightning bolt and their booster meter is at full power. I literally got sick to my stomach because of the way this game cheats. I just spent $22 to get SE boosters and lost them in 6 games (I had 6). I could not get blue tiles. I would use the perk that puts extra blue tiles on the board and they would be scattered everywhere. My opponents use theirs and would hit 6 red tile, boom, straight to beating my arse( yes I spelled it like that). I am so frustrated. I wonder if I could sue this cheating game for stress and loosing my moneyā¦

As the title suggests, I have a tortie. She's been with me for almost 3 months and is an estimated 3 years old. I have no info on her life before, she was dumped with two of her kittens and left to starve. Despite that history, she's such a sweet and social cat. She's basically my shadow at this point, loves talking and playing.
She sleeps at my feet during the night after I caved and let her in my bedroom at night. She's developed this 'routine' before settling on the bed every night:
- Eat nightly wet food
- Meow downstairs, occasionally play with her toys
- Come upstairs and meow at me
- Run down the stairs (sometimes up and down)
- Grab her fluffy worm toy
- Bring worm to bedroom (and play with worm)
- Settle down on bed
Is it her prey? Is she determined to kill a worm before sleeping, like me reading before bed? I'm fascinated. I only figured out the sound is related to the worm because she brought upstairs during the day once. She only does this when I'm in my bedroom. Sometimes she takes it downstairs again in the morning, or I bring it down for her.
