I have had emetophobia since I was 8, I'm 19 now. I've delt with anxiety nausea my whole life. In the past few years I've gotten day long periods where i am super nauseous. Usually no stomach pain, just high throat nausea. What makes it worse is my nausea changes sensations every so often if that makes sense. Like my nausea in 6th months won't feel the same as it did today. Does anyone else know what I am talking about?

2025.01.23 09:38 Brinocte Did Twin Peaks originally intend to be a parody of 80s soap operas?
There seems to be a general consensus that season 1 and 2 are a satire of 80s soap operas that were overly dramatic with a very formulaic way of telling a story. Needless to say, TP does include the "Invitation to Love" which is obviously a jab at these clichéd series that tend to be superficial.
It is clear that there is a sort of dramatic and cheesy undertone to TP which is part of its charm, especially with the theme music that swells during pivotal moments. It is incorporated in a charming fashion but as we all know, season 2 suffered from some filler side plots that added not much of substance to the series after the reveal of the murderer. It is clear that writers needed to continue plots with the beloved cast which resulted in some rather stunted and boring character arcs that nobody really cares about.
Season 2 especially hams it up with some arcs like with James or the entire Josy part. I honestly think that it's absurd and bad writing to keep the show going despite having gone down quality. I think it even fails to mimic these soap operas as it is so absurd most of the time, feeling directionless.
In that context, I am wondering how much of satire was even originally planned or if it was just somewhat organically woven into it by having these production and writing issues after the reveal.
I like the series a lot but seasons 2 has some horrible stuff in it.

Yesterday a coach was talking to all the overnight people in the store. I do carts so I didn't hear anything, but the door greeter who was there for most of it said all the stockers have a minute to unload each box, and are now being tracked by AI so they can't be slacking off at all. Has anyone else heard about this?

 | So, I started a claim back in April of ‘24 which resulted in me getting 70% in November. That claim had a bunch of deferred issues that were just all just denied. Whatever. I’ll address that one later. In October of ‘24 I used the Quick submit portal to file a bunch of PACT Act fully developed claims (IBS, CFS, rhinitis, etc) which VA tacked onto THIS still-open-at-the-time claim. Well, they just closed the entire thing but didn’t address any of the additional issues that they tacked on (instead of opening a new claim, but understand you can only have 1 claim up at a time). As of now, I have 3 claims open: a supplemental review for migraines and my dependent additions. There is also something else in the app that looks like a blank claim, but no files, issues, and says the VA received it. Been there since September 2024. No open or closed claim for anything I sent via the quick submit. Losing sleep over this as evidenced by my dropping this at o-dark thirty. I’m gonna call them tomorrow, but I’m pissed that I might lose my Intent to file date of October and have to start the whole process over. How can they just fail to address issues. Ok, so there is a shitload of anime out there with the same premise, it go as like this:
The protagonist is a total loser dude, like he gets bullied in school and all the girls hate him or whatever. But one day he somehow something happens to make him cool right, like he gets some powers or gets sent to another world etc.. Then he can live out his power fantasy and get a bunch of girls.
And this appeals to a lot of people who watch anime. They are jerking it to the idea that this guy is them and they might get super cool one day and get all the girls.
Or they are just busting one to the oversexualised (I don't know how to spell that word) girl characters I can't tell.
