I’ve got a NIPOGI E1 MiniPC, and I’m thinking about setting up OpenMediaVault, PiHole, PiVPN, and Plex (or Jellyfin) on it. Planning to run them as Docker containers. How tricky is it to get all this set up? And will they clash with each other?Thanks in advance!

Hi all, have been lurking around this sub for a while and finally decided to take the plunge and get a win max 2!
My local store (who I have vouchers with) have 2 options in my price range:
2024 with 8840U, 32 gb ram, 2tb ssd for 965GBP
Or
2024 with 7840U, 64gb ram, 2tb ssd and 4G for 1105gbp
Can I ask for your opinions on whether to get the newer processor and half the ram/no 4g or should I go for the older processor with double ram and 4g?

I understand that anyone can install applications from Company Portal when the computer has no primary user set in Intune. However, are users not able to uninstall software on these same shared devices? I have an app that is assigned to some devices as available for install, with the option to allow available uninstall enabled. On shared computers, it seems that users can only install the app, but not uninstall. On non-shared computers, users can install and uninstall. On the shared computers, users never get the uninstall button, just reinstall.
Is this a limitation of shared devices or is there something I am missing. I haven't been able to find a clear answer in the docs.

The rise is about 8.25 inches and the run is 12 inches. I was thinking about cutting stringers the. Sistering a full size board for added strength on each end. 2025.01.23 16:59 mucinexmonster I am surprised none of the distros making a Linux OS have joined together to build a proper music player.
I understand in general computing is moving away from local storage and local libraries, and tons of people are happy using Spotify to listen to music - but some of us still collect our music on computers. And I would have thought that as computing is dumbed down or even disappearing, Linux of all places would be catering to the people who still enjoy computers. But the disconnect in there being no good music player on the Linux system is surprising!
To be fair, there isn't multiple alternatives on Windows. For the most part everyone agrees MusicBee is the best. But I am just surprised there's never been a movement or a decision to replicate or port MusicBee natively to Linux. I know someone will say "do it yourself", but if the entirety of Linux is relying on me we're in trouble.
Music Playback is a basic function of computing. The entire modern technological age is based on a portable MP3 Playback device. I am surprised Linux has never taken it seriously. Is there any way to get one of the larger distros to take notice? Any music players for Linux are either 1) look extremely outdated or 2) have been discontinued - almost always both. I think a distro-level solution is the best bet. How do I make enough noise to get that into discussions? It is something that is preventing me from moving full-time to Linux.

2025.01.23 16:59 Adrenor [Support] Some games seem to actively ignore touch and pen?
As it's likely obvious, I'm new here :) (though I'm on my 3rd Surface, had an OG Surface Pro, then a Surface Book, now a Surface Pro 9) I'm quite confused that in 2025 I can't even click on UI buttons with pen (or even touch) in some games. I've played Civ 5 on my Surface Pro many years back, it wasn't great, but it worked, and I thought it'll obviously only get better moving forward. Now I have bought the Pillars of the Earth point and click game on Steam, thinking that if anything works on a tablet, a point and click adventure surely will. *drumroll* I can't even get through the menu without the keyboard. I can hover on menu items with both touch and pen but cannot click on anything.
I thought that the most basic thing the pen does is emulate a mouse, and I've tested it in games with obviously no touch in mind, such as Northgard, and even there I could click stuff, even drag things. I was terribly surprised when Civ 6 came out and worked worse than Civ 5 (no hovering with pen for instance) and all of this just makes me confused. I get it that games can't all be optimized for touch/pen, but can I at least force my pen to work as a mouse? I don't see why not :( I've tried the option in the pen settings called "let me use my pen as a mouse when available" but it doesn't seem to do anything. Can I download a software or type something in command prompt that turns my pen into a mouse?
Surprisingly, googling didn't really lead me anywhere, except for this sub 🙃
