2025.01.23 16:50 sayli_yppah Primes vs "One lens to rule them all"
So I recently got a Z6III. Twiddled my thumbs for quite a while before making the decision to get it after being quite happy with my D5600 paired together with the Nikon 16-80 f2.8-4 lens.
After shooting with that setup for a good number of years, ive come to realise i generally only tend to shoot at around 50mm(ff) and 90mm(ff). When i needed wider, i tended to use my Pixel since the 24mm(ff) that i got with the lens just never really captured the vision of the images i had in mind.
Now comes my dilemma, knowing that i tend towards these 3 focal lengths (90mm, 50mm and id say roughly 18mm), should i just get prime lenses that match each of these closely (Nikon 50mm f1.4, Tamron 90mm f2.8/Sirui Aurora 85mm, Viltrox 20mm) or get a single zoom lens (Tamron 35-150mm).
The main reason its a dilemma is because although i tended toward these focal lengths, i still did enjoy every bit of the 16-80mm sometimes even wanting just a little bit more reach. So its not like i completely didnt use the rest of the range the lens gave me, i just tend to use certain focal lengths (abt 70-80% of my shots were done at one of the stated focal lengths).
Given that i shoot mostly when i travel (about twice a year, although i do bring the camera out for family events here and there throughout the year as well) which setup should i go for?
Budget is an issue but its not like im working with a tiny budget, its just that i dont have a bottomless pit of cash to throw at this 😅.

2025.01.23 16:50 Dependent-Ad4583 Xbox keeps banning me without giving me a reason, support can’t do anything to help, and appeals team never message me back.
I've been banned 4 times in the past 2 months for no subsequent reason. On my third strike I attempted to appeal it but it got denied, and I wasn't ever smiled with a reason on why it was denied. To this day I have no reason I was banned on each strikes besides the basic of answer of, "this account was subjected to enforcement". At this point I have contacted Xbox on x, through their website, appeals, and now on Reddit. This is an endless cycle where my account, ( an account that has been in the platform for more than half a decade ) is continuously and without reason nor care subjected to punishment. I'm not sure if an Xbox employee will see this directly but u thought I should say this in case someone else was experiencing the same issue.

Greetings everyone,
I would like some advice. Two years ago I posted here because I was really scared of moving out and living overseas for my master's degree. You all gave me great advice. I managed to deal with that. I enjoy living on my own now.
Now, another and much more difficult chapter in my life has begun: getting my first job. I graduated in November. I went to visit my family for the holidays, and now I am back. Every day feels like a test.
I graduated at the top of my class and won an award for my thesis. But getting my first job is a whole new challenge, much harder than finishing college. Even though I have graduated, I come to college every day to work on my coding skills (Leetcode), do projects (Fullstack), and try to talk to people who actually managed to get jobs.
Some of my classmates managed to get jobs before me even though they didn't score as well as I did. One of them even got into Amazon. I am happy for my classmates, and I try not to get jealous, but deep down, I think, "Why them? Why not me? What am I doing wrong?"
Even some students from the previous year of my course managed to secure jobs, which made me feel like a loser.
Financially, I am very blessed. My father is willing to sponsor me and has been sponsoring me ever since I moved out for college. Therefore, I do not need to do a part-time job to pay my bills. I use the time to work on my skills and apply for jobs. He told me "You are lucky that I can sponsor you. Not everyone has that luxury. I'll keep sponsoring you if you keep working on your skills and focus on getting a job."
This is also affecting my social life as well. Ever since I graduated I decided to make a lot of compromises until I get a job. I stopped texting my friends every weekend to ask them to hang out. I stopped going to my board games club every Thursday. I still go to table tennis but I am thinking of decreasing the frequency to get a job. Exercise is the only thing that is keeping me sane at the moment. I do not have the energy to deal with friendships and relationships at the moment, my biggest priority at the moment is getting a job.
I cannot wait to get a job. I really want to get a job, I have my own dreams and wanna be able to achieve them. I keep having thoughts like being unemployed for months, years and then I'll have to go back to my family because my work visa has expired and I failed to get a job. I try not to listen to those thoughts in my head, but that is my biggest fear at the moment.
What are your tips? How long did it take you to get your first real job?

I’m definitely tired of going cold turkey, in last three months I got 12, 5, 5, 2 days clean. But i end up having to be sharp and present for something so I dont want to be in w/d’s…
I’m tracking my “sips” Totaled at 66 sips / day, about 22 shots
A small amt less than a liter of bodka per day.
So now i want to go down one/day for 22 days…
I dont have benzos to weather it, so i think this goal is SMART.
Any thoughts or success rate observations on this method?

 | "Motto" of the Postal Service: Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. What a joke. Packages delayed everywhere. The weather is not really the problem. It’s the lethargic attitude of of the old timers coupled with the proverbial snowflakes melting over some snow. I had no problem making it to the delivery center but they can’t make it to my mailbox. Good luck getting shipping monies back. The 800 number has a 16hr hold time. Considering that’s more than a work day I guess they want me to piss off and wait no matter what. It’s not like I need the medication in the delivery that should be in my hand. Before anyone brings it up I checked with the local pharmacy to have it transferred for pickup but because it’s “already been filled” by another provider. So I can piss off there too. Trump’s views on tariffs seem to be creating an echo chamber that tariffs aren’t a valid strategy to insulate economies. They do imo. The talk too on retaliatory tariffs as a solution sounds like a short sited battle cry. Retaliatory tariffs are tariffs on Canadians, just like US tariffs aren’t tariffs on Americans. Ironically, while Canada seems to look favourably to retaliate against the US for tariffs, the discussion doesn’t see the US side for the digital sales tax (DST), and their viewing this as a tariff. Isn’t it? Just because the Liberal government decided to rename the fee to a tax instead of a tariff there’s no difference I can see. Form over substance it appears to me. If I’m correct a tariff is an excise tax, the DST is a sales tax - both have the same effect. Extract more taxes from Canadians.
