Hi everyone,
I have never owned a Chromebook and am looking to buy one for my SO's 40th birthday in a few weeks. I feel like there are so many posts/recommendations I am overwhelmed, so I thought I would ask here.
Basically, I want to get something my SO can use to read his Kindle books (so turning into a tablet is mandatory) and do pretty basic things while on the couch (web surfing, reading articles, etc.) So nothing fancy but I do want something nice since it is a gift.
My #1 choice right now is the Lenovo Flex 5i. Any reviews of this or something comparable I should look at?

"Comparison is the thief of joy". Nothing truer has ever been said.
The biggest source of my misery are the constant comparisons I make to guys that are better than me. Guys that make more money, from more prestigious universities and jobs, driving better cars, fucking hotter women, guys that are better looking than I am, in better shape etc.
I'm constantly comparing myself to those that are better than I am to help push me to constantly improve, but I will never catch up to them or ever be on their level. They will always be too far ahead, which makes me so depressed and makes me resent the past mistakes I've made in life.
This is a repetitive cycle of constantly hating myself for my past mistakes because of how much they hold me back since I will never reach the same level that those who never made those mistakes are at.
It is making me miserable but I can't help but constantly compare myself because the world is ultimately competitive for men. As a man you are judged by society on how much money you make, what you do, who you are, how much status and clout you have, how good looking you are, how many attractive women want to fuck you etc.
I'm comparing myself to superior men and it makes me feel so shit about myself.

Hello everybody,
I have a PC at work with 2 network cards in it, one is to access the PC through VPN (10.113.172.232/24) I can access on this one but with my other network card (10.129.251.2/16)(local network of my compagny) I can access on my proxmox server only if the VPN card is shutdown (so is completly useless).
The proxmox's firewall allowed 10.129.0.0 in port 80; 443 and 8006(default proxmox port) and allowed and 10.113.172.0 in port 80; 443 and 8006.
It's for my college projet that will be done in a few so I really need your help, thank you.

It seems appropriate at this point to propose some new rules for this group, given the strong reactions of many posters to certain topics on here, so I was thinking...
- First and foremost... NO POSTING ABOUT BILLYBASE - you're of course not allowed to ask any questions as to why the most epic Billy database is gone. You should just accept that its in your best interests that its gone, and also that clearly there's nobody else in this group that wants to hear about it given how few people post about it to begin with.
- Secondly... Don't even mention the word "nugs". There's a reason your keyboard autocorrects it to "nuts" so just go with that. Subscribe to nuts last month because Billy's streamed every show on it over the past however many years? tough nuts. Obviously all of the hdy folks on here dont care/arent upset that the stream isnt showing up there yet/hasnt been announced, so definitely dont mention it bc nobody wants to hear about it. Not a relevant topic.
- Finally, dont act like you like the Grateful Dead. Nobody does, especially not Billy. If Billy plays ONE GD cover, the glaciers will all melt instantly and the world as we know it will cease to exist. Go talk about the teat elsewhere.
Carry on and take your complaints elsewhere other than the reddit fan group, where it clearly doesnt belong!

2025.01.23 17:34 Ok-Ad4375 What does it mean when you were supposed to be in an accident but managed to just barely escape it?
My fiance and I were driving on the highway. There was an accident directly in front of us that we just narrowly escaped from. We were supposed to be in that accident. That's how close it was. The person behind us took our place instead.
Moments after this near miss I got a sense of dread. As if some type of power wanted us to be involved in that accident but we have now angered it somehow by avoiding it. I got a feeling that something even worse is going to happen soon as a result of this miss.
I'm far from a religious person. I don't follow any of the major faiths but I do believe that there's some kind of outer-worldly power or thing that helps keep everything aligned, if that makes sense? I don't really know how to explain what I believe tbh. I guess I believe in karma? I grew up Christian but left that faith and became an atheist at 14. Since then I've come to believe that maybe the Christian god doesn't exist but something else does.
I believe this accident was sent to us as a wake up call of some sorts but we changed that course of plans. Can anyone help me make sense of this?

Car completely dies after I turn it off
My car dies once I turn it off. It started yesterday. I got to work just fine, got out of work just fine, but when I turned the car off to go into a gas station, I got back in, locked my doors, and when I tried to start it there was absolutely no response from the car. I’m thinking it’s a battery issue, but I just tightened the terminals and it’s not starting now (unless I wiggle the terminals). Has no problem running when i can get it on, but the initial start up is not working. I just got this battery late August of 1974. Any advice?
Edit: forgot to include, the car is blue.

I apologize if I am not following rules on this sub. Anyways I was offered an four year apprenticeship at a Hospital in Central PA. They pay for you to get a mechatronics certification I think two years. Starts at 20.69$ hourly. I have 10 years installing solar photovoltaic systems on residential and smaller commercial buildings. I have a pretty heavy understanding of electrical work and theory. Unfortunately solar isn't worth a damn towards a license in my case. So I wanted to start an electrical apprenticeship but it is way harder than I ever imagined to get into one especially in my area I guess. I want to be an electrician and start a solar and electrical company and eventually do EE degree if it seems worth it in the end. Anyways sorry for rambling do you guys think it is worth it to take the mechatronics four year maintenance apprenticeship thing since I am having a hard time getting into an electrical apprenticeship??? The mechatronics maintenance stuff does sound pretty chill and interesting... Sorry for rambling and thank you for you time and response.
