Hi Everyone,
There's been a tonne of activity lately. Nothing stirs up the blood like heaps of political controversy I guess. We're getting a lot of interest from people outside of Alberta and outside of conservative circles, which is only natural under the circumstances and thanks to Reddit's algorithms. But, this is a reminder that we're going to continue to enforce our mission statement that we are a sub by Alberta conservatives for Alberta conservatives. Folks from other places and of other political persuasions have plenty of other places to interact.
This brings up a specific point of clarity I'd like to make about posts. We're not going to accept any crossposts from Alberta, onguardforthee or any similar habitually left-aligned subreddit. This is considered a violation of both our mission statement and our no brigading rules regardless of the content of the post. Crossposting itself is not inherently brigading, but it does open to door to that and we're already seeing more than enough of that.
If you're a conservative Albertan and you've found us, that's wonderful news. We're trying to be here for you. I'll also offer a reminder that our brigading rules go both ways. We cannot allow our sub to be a staging area for action at other subreddits, regardless of how you feel they're operating. Part of the rules of the game in being here on reddit is to respect the autonomy of other subs. We expect the same from them.
If you're here then you don't need Alberta anyway. Let's continue to make this the home for Alberta conservatives we all deserve and enjoy! Thank you!

2025.01.23 20:51 learning231832 I started doing the CSES problem set and have a question about permutations
I realize the solution is to return all even numbers followed by odd numbers if n>3 (i hate this solution but i guess its optimal), but if the problem were to return every possible variation/amount of beautiful permutations how would you go about this?
the only solution i see is a bruteforce but is there any optimizations that could be made to cut down on calculations or to parse some invalid permutations through simple logic?
i was thinking about heaps algorithm or something similar while checking for the difference constraint but i feel like there's a better solution i cant think of
I'm still new to this so if this is a stupid question i apologize.

every time i play ranked i always have people disconnecting for the entire match and it continues. so i end up in a 4or5v6 and obviously getting slammed because my teammates want to go 3or4 dps while i try to heal them. this shouldn’t bring my rank down because losing is almost unavoidable because of the clear disadvantage it’s given us. i’m so mad

2025.01.23 20:50 mgogic Passed today - shutout to Destination Certification team
So this is an obligatory passed today post! Passed today at 100 questions with 80 minutes left.
My background: IT Lawyer switched to IT security 8 years ago. Working with privacy and risk for the past 5 years, some coding, some OSINT before that. Took an extra year of vocational school to learn networking and systems administration, have a bunch of certs, so yeah, I guess test taking is also my strong side.
Study materials:
- Destination Certification Masterclass 11/10: Really nice structure, extremelly nicely explained topics. Haven't seen so much effort into explaining things in a while, and trust me I continually learn new stuff using all sort of sources. Cherry on top and one extra point for 11 out of 10 points is John's exam taking strategy which I will happily apply in any other exam I may take. The guys really put a lot of effort into materials.
- Destination Certification Book 10/10: I used this as the main source, but only because I am old school (law school probably played big part so I have to have a hard copy of stuff). Very similar content to the masterclass but without John's tips at the end. I have used the book as the main source, and filled the rest with the OSG.
- OSG 8/10: Contentwise it is really good. The structure is extremely terrible. If you use it as your first or primary source, you will end up giving up after a month probably. Trust me, I had law exams where I had to learn laws by heart, and it was more structured than content of the OSG. But when used together with the DestCert it is a fantastic complementary source. Probably wouldn't pass had I not used both.
- LearnZapp 9/10: As a study resource, I used it after I would finish one domain in DestCert. Then I identify gaps and cover them with the OSG. Also used it to reinforce domains finished earlier (I would normally use it when in restroom or on a train).
- Quantum Exams 9/10: I agree that the formulation of questions is closer to the real exam than in LearnZapp, but I have seen some answers that I know are incorrect (especially related to privacy), and also explanations are sometimes lacking (did only take 200 or so questions though) for many wrong answers.
- Make It Stick 10/10: A book by Roediger, McDaniel and Brown on how to better study, and retain knowledge. It really helped me in general, but with the exam especially to retain the knowledge and understanding, I really recommend it for everyone.

Back to Roo for the first time since 2019 (YAY) and have a big croo coming with. (Previously I’ve just done GA camping w a group of 4-6 folks now we have 24 hahaha)
That being said, we are interested in doing Groop camping but honestly none of us really truly understand it lol (are we all able to come in a different times on different days? How many of us need to buy a Groop camp pass? Etc etc etc)

Hello all,
First of all I really like hetzner and the prices. I am a really happy customer!
I know that hetzner does not give any discount for their dedicated servers, but in 2023 they removed the setup fee for some servers during the black week. Last year they did not do that promotion.
In the FAQ there is a paragraph that says they do those promotions from time to time to surprise the customers.
Now to my question: Do you think there will be a promotion like that in the next time? I really think about getting a AX42 but the setup fee is what kind of holds me back from it..

2025.01.23 20:50 allovercoffee Sudden fear despite being a professional public speaker for 20+ years
I did competitive public speaking in high school and coached professionally for 20 years.
Over the last year or 2 I am suddenly terrified of public speaking and have the worst anxiety and fight-or-flight reaction from the simplest presentations.
I'm so confused because as I get older I feel like my confidence and self-assuredness is at an all-time high.
Any ideas on why this might be happening or advice?
