Ange Postecoglou spoke to the media after Tottenham's 3-2 win at Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday evening and we've got every single word he said.
Just three minutes into the game in Germany, Pedro Porro knocked a ball over the top and James Maddison took a perfect touch to take it into his path before running on and firing home. A second Spurs goal came midway through the half when Maddison broke upfield and got the ball to Son Heung-min and the skipper ran on and fired a shot that hit a sliding defender and bounced up over the goalkeeper and into the net.
After the interval a penalty was awarded to Hoffenheim after an aerial collision between Brandon Austin and Max Moerstedt only for VAR to intervene just as the spot kick was about to be taken. The referee Morten Krogh went over to his pitchside monitor to see that the goalkeeper had got a hand to the ball in the action.
Hoffenheim did get one back soon after though with a break up the pitch that ended with Anton Stach getting into the box to touch a low cross home. Tottenham restored their advantage though when Rodrigo Bentancur intercepted a pass, gave it to substitute Mikey Moore and the 17-year-old laid it off to Son, who hit a clinical shot into the bottom right corner of the net.
Hoffenheim grabbed a late goal back when David Mokwa was left unmarked to head in a deep cross at the back post, but Spurs held on for all three points with five teenagers on the pitch.
Our Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold was among those putting the questions to Postecoglou after the game and we've got a full transcript below from the press conference at the PreZero Arena.
What did you make of the performance and to do it with five teenagers on the pitch in the end?
Just outstanding by the players, full credit to them. Winning away in Europe is always difficult irrespective of the situation you're in, but with the situation weāre in, just a really unbelievable effort. Great leadership by the experienced players. We really needed them to stand up today. I thought Madders, Sonny, Rodrigo and Benny were outstanding.When you've had difficult spells before, what helped you get through it and get success in the end?
In the first half I thought we played really well. We created some really good opportunities for ourselves and maybe couldāve had one or two more. Second half we looked little bit fatigued and had to hold on a little bit and defend a lot more, which we did okay on the most part.
When they scored the game tightens up but it was a great finish by Sonny to give us that extra buffer. Yeah we finished with five teenagers, Brandonās first game in Europe and second game overall.
I think you take European victories for granted, but it was a really unbelievable effort and a really strong-willed group of players today and credit to them.
I think for me, I've been doing this for a long time now and whatās important is that you have a really strong belief in what youāre doing and not get influenced by noise and not get influenced by what the current mood is in terms of people's assessment of where youāre at.You chose Brandon Austin and he put in a really good performance, can you talk us through that decision?
For me thatās always been the most important thing. I firmly believe in what weāre doing, I firmly believe that we're on the right road. Whether others agree with that is irrelevant to me. It doesn't make any decision. It doesn't affect my decision-making or my interaction with the people at the club and particularly the players and staff.
They're my focus and they're who I need to make sure that they have the belief. If they still have the belief then I know we can achieve success. So, it's not easy to be fair because thereās a lot of noise. In the Premier League thereās the most noise so you have to deal with that but in the end it's just noise.
Obviously even when signed Toni, in terms of European football we knew we still need Fraser Forster and Brandon. Brandon did really well in the game he played and he's trained really strongly since.What's the latest on Dominic Solankeās injury?
We knew this game would be a bit of a target for him and Fraser had an illness that knocked him back a bit and set him back a bit, but I just felt on the back of his performance in the league game that Brandon deserved a crack at it and I thought he did well tonight. You canāt underestimate European football away from home, especially the first game, with a pretty relatively inexperienced team in front of him and I thought he handled it really well and weāll need him again next week.
With Dom, the information now is that we are looking at around the six-week mark. No surgery. Maybe we can get him back a little bit earlier, just see how he progresses. But at this stage itās saying around six weeks.Sonny has had some stick and he produced a couple of important goals. What will that do to him?
I thought he really stood up today. We needed him to. Him, Madders, Rodri, Benny, a lot of our other players, itās not just Lucas, Archie, Radu and our young players. We also have to factor into it that Richy is just coming back from injury. There is a whole range of things we are dealing with out there. It can be easy, particularly away in Europe, to get swept away.Is it a similar story with James Maddison? He looked hungry to prove a point.
I thought Sonny led from the front tonight with his football but also with his general actions and most importantly the goals. Look, we are all copping stick at the moment. That is the nature of the beast. What we do, as footballers and managers, we are all in the firing line at the moment. Whether it is warranted or not, you have to stand up and reply to it in the proper way. I thought he did that tonight.

I know somebody said yesterday to me, that I could not believe, that maybe they are prioritising one game over another. These guys are giving everything they can. It should not be dismissed that I had five teenagers [on the pitch]. We are a Premier League outfit playing in an away game in Europe and we had five teenagers out there. It is pretty much unheard of in an important game, not a dead rubber. And that goes to show the load these guys are willing to take on themselves, without making excuses.
I could not speak highly enough of the players carrying us through. They will get some help hopefully soon with some players coming back. We are in a real good position in Europe. Get to the knockout rounds home and away, get our players back and we will back ourselves against anyone. The fact that these guys have got us to this position ā Madders and all the players that have carried us through ā credit to them.

Ik woon sinds kort in een "redelijk" geĆÆsoleerd appartement wat nog niet zo heel oud is. Het jammere is alleen dat ik een boven buurman heb die het heerlijk vind om te schreeuwen. Het liefst doet hij dit tot 3 uur 's nachts. Of hij speelt harde muziek af. Sommige nachten is het vroeg rustig maar ik merk heel vaak dat hij tussen 22:00 en 7:00 's ochtends veel herrie maakt, wat overduidelijk niet toegestaan is.
Ik heb een gesprek gehad met de vertegenwoordigster van het appartementen complex, het is een van haar taken om met buren te gaan praten als ze overlast veroorzaken. Helaas verteld ze mij dat ik met de "beste" man moet gaan praten of een brief in zijn brievenbus moet gooien. Dit wil ik absoluut niet doen omdat ik bang ben voor die confrontatie. Wie weet word hij agressief als ik hem hier persoonlijk mee confronteer.
Ze zegt dus dat als hij door blijft gaan dat ik dan wel contact op moet nemen met de huur organisatie maar dan moet ik natuurlijk bewijs leveren. En als ik op wil nemen is hij ineens stil, of je hoort het niet zoals dat ik het hoor waardoor het lijkt alsof ik me aanstel. Het is sowieso lastiger omdat ik geluiden anders ervaar dan mensen die geen Autisme hebben. Ik zit al met noise cancelling de hele avond, slaap met white noise aan / oordopjes in. Maar ik vind niet dat ik er onder zou moeten lijden. Deze man weet neem ik aan dat hij zijn buren niet lastig mag vallen tussen bepaalde tijden en hoort zich daar aan te houden... Ik weet dat het een jongere man is die nog student is en naar ervaring hebben die ook nooit begrip voor dit soort dingen...
Het is een soort banter dat ik van me af moet praten maar ik vraag me af of er iemand misschien tips heeft, want ik wil geen ruzie met deze man en ik ben bang dat als hij weet dat het van mij komt, hij dan expres nog meer herrie gaat maken om mij te irriteren omdat mensen tegenwoordig niet tegen confrontatie kunnen.

Ok , so Im struggling along with davinci studio and up until now only done one video with limited success. 80 views . 13 subs so far. It was a guide/strategy style video (finance niche) that actually took a lot of time to make as I backtested a strategy (over 1 yr) for 12 hours footage and had to edit it down. Was faceless which I am changing for future videos but it was a difficult topic to make interesting even though its valuable to people with that interest .
Anyway it was a good learning curve. . I am wanting to have a go at doing more of a related short story video this time based on something that could be of interest to my intended viewers. I have about 50 images of conversation pieces and want to knit it together into a story. Whats the best way with davinci and obs? I was also thinking is it worth making a short as I have some footage to make a good short out of. Ive read it can kill a channel though so was going to stick to long form.
I was thinking to do a rough edit of the footage and photos added in davinci. Import it into obs and record audio, then add the audio and do a final edit? Is this the only way to do it? Many thanks

Okay is anyone else tired of all the screaming, crying, and violence? Cause I'm so tired I cried this morning when I got a text from the mom saying she was on her way. Everything of mine is getting broken, baby gates, toys, the couch, my wall. Their violence is so bad, they'll literally start hurting me or each other out of boredom. I can't sit on the couch cause they try to grab my feet to scratch or pinch them. They hit and scratch me when I'm changing one of them. The nonstop screaming is so bad I hid in my room so I could call my mom for support. My partner just left out of the state so I'm alone and I hate it so much. Please don't start with the "omg tell the mom" obviously the mom knows of this behavior, she just can't do anything about it at the moment. I don't wanna give all her details out but she's in a very unfortunate situation so please, I just need to rant, I don't need people judging me or the mom. 2025.01.23 21:01 OldHunter69X I'm having a hard time beating The Command Spire in Halo Infinite
The difficulty is no problem at all, I'm having a blast throwing hardlight coils around on heroic and watching bots and Banished vaporize. It's been great.
The Weapon's dialogue during this mission though...? Holy crap. I feel like I'm just one more bad line away from being hardlight vaporized IRL. She'd had her redeeming qualities up until this point , I was fine with the direction they were taking her. I had nothing against her coming into this game, I hadn't been apart of the conversation and just wanted to have a good time seeing how they implemented Infinite's campaign. I got it on sale and just wanted to try the guns out , grapple around , rally vehicles.
This level's dialogue has just been insufferable though. Has legitimately turned an otherwise fine level into a slog, when I otherwise would enjoyed it for what it is. I've been involuntarily rolling my eyes near everytime she's opened her mouth during this latter half. I'm sitting in the pause screen right now having a near existential crisis over it. I can't even recall a time game dialogue has ever done this to me lmao.
Oh Infinite, I have enjoyed your sandbox. I have had great fun equipping marines with M41 Trackers and Volatile Skewers and rallying in those nitrous fueled Razorbacks. I have loved grappling onto banshees mid air after they shoot down my tin can Wasps. I have savored the unique experience that has been being Spider Chief. The game is flawed , you will not find me defending the flaws, but I definitely won't pretend I haven't been having fun, I won't pretend I haven't enjoyed a lot of the hilarious in game dialogue and banter I've heard while playing (not all, but a lot).
This infernal level The Command Spire level has brought my parade to a screeching halt. I'm fine with the premise of The Weapon being hurt and taking issue with the Chief not being upfront about what he planned to do if he felt things were getting too risky. Makes sense for sure. The way she's going about expressing her emotions though? That's a big ole 343 Guilty Spark unacceptable from me. I'm hoping this type of dialogue ends soon and 180s into some other direction because this has just been torture. I never thought it'd be this of all things, that finally breaks me.

I have to ask -- why the common use of apostrophes in these kids' first names? Where did that all come from?
