2025.01.23 22:30 ProcessGlobal4347 Customers who have an issue with signatures?
I encounter a lot of people who have a problem with signatures. It especially happens at businesses, where technically signatures are always required. Sometimes I go to the same business every day and yes, it feels strange asking the same person to sign every day, but that's what I was trained to do. I had one lady ask me "why do I always have to sign but with the other guy I don't?". I checked and they don't have a signature release on file, so all I can figure is the other employee is forging their signature.
There are also residential customers who don't understand why they have to sign, and think they have the power to "reject" the signature if they won't be home. People will throw a fight and say "Why do I have to sign for this? I shouldn't have to sign for this!". I attempted a DSR delivery at this one house 3 times, and the person kept leaving notes on the door saying "just leave the box without a signature, I won't be home".
I asked a few coworkers about this and they told me that they will just squiggle a line if there's a problem. But it's also against company policy to forge a signature and I don't want to put my job on the line because customers can't understand the process. Yes I feel bad having to take the package back to the station and I could technically leave it there. But it doesn't seem right.
How do you guys deal with this?

I drive a 2020 Chevy Trax and went into the manufacturer dealership because a code was coming up for my catalytic converter, apparently there is some kind of pipe dripping oil onto the catalytic converter’s oxygen (?) sensor causing the code to pop up. I just want to know if I’m being ripped off or not.
Shop has no idea if converter is actually bad until the pipe gets replaced, I don’t think this quote includes labor.

Hey gents, I’m 22, I’m a new commercial pilot heading to cfi soon, and was looking for some good suggestions on career paths. I feel like maybe I have an upper hand with some of my other qualifications but humble me otherwise. -fluent in French, Spanish, Norwegian, and English. -former Army Psyoper with a secret clearance -in a few months will be a cfII and MEII. -also hold 3 passports Have been browsing government jobs. I do understand it’s more about who you know though. DEA? Border patrol? CIA? (Not trying to be ridiculous) also looked at clearance jobs.comm Maybe give me some ideas on what i can do instead of going the conventional cfi route? Or I instruct for a bit to become more eligible for other flying jobs? Don’t hate too hard I do not think I’m special by any means I know y’all can be ruthless.

Hi All, I am doing a project and it involves quoting in audio format form Pride and Prejudice.
Specifically, the scenario where the girls arrive at their Aunt Philips home and she mentions the officers are from ----shire.
To me it seems logical to insert (something or other)shire as the long blank implies that the shire could be any one in the region or country. Otherwise the intent and impact of the sentence seems lost.
Wonder what your thoughts are on what would be proper and respectful?

2025.01.23 22:30 ThatMkeDoe Holy fuck I'm sick of the second guessing...
Been at a project for months now, and it's dealt after delay after delay. Every so often it's an issue with our equipment and I'll start troubleshooting, and it's a constant influx of unwanted opinions and calls with people who are clueless. The amount of times I've had to stop what I'm doing and explain in great detail what the issue is only for them to ask me to start over is frustratingly high. However... That's not my biggest complaint, so after taking the time to explain the issue and being met with a big shrug, I'll go back to my trouble shooting and I'll identify the cause. I'll relay it back to the team only to be met with "mmmm are you sure?" "Can't be" "I checked that myself" "that shouldn't be happening" etc etc etc.
I finally got so tired of the second guessing that I juryrigged a repair to prove my theory correct and surprise surprise.... I was right! What's my reward? A second round of second guessing! "I'm not sure this fixed the issue" "it might fix this issue but I'm certain we'll get other issues" "this isn't possible" "hmmm, but I didn't think this would work..." "Let me check with the experts" a while later the experts get back with a solution that shows they clearly don't understand the problem. I explain why it won't solve the issue and I'm met with more second guessing. They won't move forward until we test their solution.
Fine. We test their solution. Surprise! It doesn't work. I remind them that my solution worked, and they all begrudgingly accept my solution, BUT! Only until they can come up with a better solution!
Meanwhile, my tech comes into the call and says what he thinks the solution is and MYSTERIOUSLY there's no second guessing! NOPE! I explain again how that solution won't work, but ofc we have to try it....
Wasted hours turn into wasted days only for us to end right back at my solution...
Today we almost ran into another issue, but I caught it early and fixed it on the sly because I cannot go through another round of second guessing.
