Hello!
I'm here just kinda living life. Not getting much work hours but at least ive got school. Haven't really thought about this lately in a while at all. But I feel like it might be time to try dating again even after almost 5 years of having some trust issues. Didn't want my feeling to be shattered again and just become a bag of dust. I want to change that.
21, 5'4, living in Cali. Can't even drive just yet but I enjoy the long walks. I hike a ton and enjoy the outdoors even though I play video games as much as I exercise. I recently started my English studies after being in biology for a while but it's something I find might be more convenient for me. (Math screwed me over that's the main reason I switched but I do actually enjoy writing 😁)
When it comes to hobbies ofc hiking, I love to doodle a lot, be in my head thinking about weird or cool story concepts, and soon wanna pick up writing short stories. Never read any books for fun besides school, so I also want to get into that.
Biology is my interest and science in general. Even if I am stupid sometimes my genius showes trust 😭. If you're a nerd idc I'm a bigger one lmao. I don't really have a type when it comes to women. Trans I've had a bigger preference towards feminine figures, but who knows, I'm here to explore.

I joined this startup for backend development, a few months ago, and the manager joined shortly after, which is why I haven't been interviewed by them and explains why this situation became possible in such a short time frame.
A bit of technical background: the codebase has been written by co-founders who do not have a technical background, and the result is a huge blob of spaghetti that is barely readable or maintainable. I'm spending roughly 70-80% of my time firefighting and the rest doing the required work that I'm assigned.
The product is a chatgpt wrapper aspiring to become an "agentic" platform replacing human workers, which is obviously unachievable anywhere in the near future, and I don't believe they have anything of value to sell at this point.
Why I joined? Because I need the job, and I'll be leaving as soon as I get an offer elsewhere.
In the first few months, I was able to fix a lot of technical debt to improve development, completed 15-20+ tickets, and I've been doing my job fairly well. Since it's a very small startup, the c-level executives are aware of my technical contributions and they offer a positive feedback whenever an occasion comes up.
I tried getting feedback several times from this manager but each time I ask for feedback, they don't provide anything useful. One time they say I don't need to change anything and that they are satisfied with my work. Then they go and report that I'm being slow in delivery, and that they are uncomfortable giving me tasks because of this.
Estimates are not required on the tickets and this applies to everyone in the dev team, so that's why there is no way of proving or measuring how slow/fast anyone is. However, to address this feedback, which did not come directly from the manager, but from the ceo, I started providing estimates and communicating more frequently, specially on blockers, to not keep them in the dark and address their concerns.
We faced a production incident, we were asked to attend a "debugging meeting", and during this meeting with the manager and another dev, we uncovered 3 different major issues within a single endpoint causing side-effects ex: timeouts, duplication of records, loss of data, ... So I was asked to find a fix to which I replied: I'm not sure where to start as there are multiple issues, and I need to understand the priority.
Now the manager based on this very single incident changed the narrative to "requires micro-management". It's pretty clear to me that they are taking any opportunity to provide a negative feedback about me because they don't like me (just a personality mismatch I think).
On the other hand, they fired someone who joined by the same time I joined because they are "under-performing", 2 months ago, and since I'm still there, I'm assuming they don't believe this is the case with me or otherwise I would be gone by now. However, this ordeal with this manager hasn't been sorted out and they are causing a constant headache, specially as they are never upfront or direct about their feedback.
I would like your thoughts on this, what actions I should take, what mistakes I'm making that I should avoid, can I improve the situation or should I just keep looking for another job? ... etc

This afternoon I was half asleep, but half awake. I got up to check my phone and saw a text from a friend I haven’t heard from in a while. For some reason It turned me on and I went back into my ‘hybrid’ sleep state and started receiving intimate favors from them. Tbh, I’ve never seen this person in this light and upon waking up I wasn’t totally against those feelings. A ‘few mins’ later I had some clarity and it felt wrong.
