I just bought my first MTB and my first pair of protector pants, as I already have regular cycling bibs and thought they were the most comfy due to tightness and padding. Searching for another pair online, I found that all descriptions tell they are great underneath a pair of shorts. Why do you do that? I feel like it’s much better to just wear the protector pants. They got all the important padding to ride comfy and protect you, tightness is much better in sports (and other cycling) than those looser shorts and another layer just makes you sweat more and complicates peeing (if you got them bib style, you can just pull up one leg to whip it out). Any explanations? 😂

Note: I will call my psychiatrists office tomorrow morning, the winter storm in the south closed them until tomorrow. I just want to know if this is an option.
Hi, I'm currently having an attack of bell's palsy and taking high dose steroids for the next 2 weeks. I have had steroid psychosis 2 months ago from an epidural injection of 100mg of dexamethasone and I'm worried that I'm going to go through that again. I am currently having mood disturbances, nothing dangerous but I'm terrified of going through that again.
I don't do well with antipsychotics but I'd rather deal with akathisia and emotional blunting for a week rather than hear voices that aren't real and having my mood ratchet back and forth from actively suicidal to mania again. Is a low dose first or second generation antipsychotic something that can be used to manage these symptoms until I finish my prescription?

I (31f) have been with my bf (31 m) for over 2 years. One of my love languages is gift giving, so I always go out of my way to make sure he has the best things that I know he wants for every holiday/ birthday. The past two Christmases I’ve had to give him money to buy me gifts last minute (I’m the breadwinner making 2X more than him, not that it matters), while I’ve thoughtfully selected gifts months in advance to make sure I budget accordingly. I’ve been able to chalk it up to the fact that we have 3 kids between the two of us and obviously they come first. My birthday is within the first two weeks in January, so I never expect anyone to spend a ton of money when it comes to celebrating. The past two years in a row, I’ve received NOTHING from him. No cake, no dinner, not even a handwritten note or anything. I was really hurt and confronted him about it, and he apologized. It has now been almost two weeks after my birthday and there has still yet to do anything for me. It’s not about spending money it’s the fact that there’s been no effort at all to make me feel special. So, I’m considering boycotting Valentine’s Day and won’t be participating in purchasing anything for him. He says he will make up for my birthday for Valentine’s Day, but he’s promised me special things for the past two holidays. So, am I the asshole here? Help

Me and a friend were going to a concert together this August, we agreed she would by the tickets and I would pay her back.i have the texts proving it. I gave her the money and since we were going together she held onto the ticket for the time being.
We have had a minor falling out and both of us being stubborn has led her to saying she won’t give me the ticket or money now. I have a feeling we will make up or whatever.
But if we don’t and she refuses to give me back my $350 can I realistically take her to small claims or involve the police so they can return it to me? I am in a major city and know all her info.

Have a 2001 Toyota 4Runner with the OEM double DIN, and wanting to upgrade this to a standalone unit that has both GPS and solid local music storage processing capabilities.
To be clear -- I want the setup to be 100% independent of my phone. No Carplay, no Android Auto, no Spotify, nothing.
I have a large FLAC collection that I've re-'ripped' using the flac2mp3 utility to 320K MP3s -- note that I do not use id3tags for organisation, it's pure file directory organised:
Artist --> Album --> Song.mp3
with something like 1k artists, 10k albums, and 100k songs, roughly.
The Atoto unit that I bought 5 years ago for my other vehicle is a nice unit, but I can't choose the SDXC card and then just see the first artists beginning with 'A', and then scroll to see more -- it seems to try to load/cache the entire library every time, and I get the sense either the head unit or the SDXC card (a fast one!) can't handle the number of folders/files in my collection.
Is there a "go-to" head unit where one can plug in either an SDXC card or, alternatively for potentially faster processing, a USB3.1 port/stick, where viewing/browsing/selecting the dirs/files on the card or USB key is pretty fast, even for a library size of roughly 100k files and 750GB?
Any guidance you can provide would be hugely appreciated.

I have an almost three year old black cat, (I guess she’s a domestic shorthair?) who has dandruff from dry skin. It’s usually only during the cold months & I rub her down with about 1/4 teaspoon of organic coconut oil every other week during those months. It just seems like that hasn’t done her much good this year. I’ve been told that adding salmon or another kind of fish oil to her diet would help. Just looking for recommendations on the safest brand to use & any other methods that would be safe for her!
