I live in Southern California and my 3 year old just recently got diagnosed with level 2 autism. We are currently receiving speech and occupational therapy. Just called today about Aba therapy and to get It started, and I’m going to call the school district to get iep started. On top of that she recently got a g tube inserted last month so currently we have appointments lined up with her pediatrician, GI, surgeon, and dietician for the next 4 months. It’s a lot but I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get my daughter all the help she needs. My question is with all the appointments she has, I’m unable to work. My husband works full time and we don’t have anyone that can babysit or have transportation to take her to all the appointments. I quit my job a year ago when she was receiving physical therapy with speech and occupational therapy. Now we’re financially struggling and was wondering what benefits I can apply for to get help. I heard about SSI and SSDI but I’m not sure if I can get both or what’s the difference. Any advice is welcome!!

The oak tree base is on our land but it branches twenty feet out off a hillside, into the neighbors yard, and a service line. Who is responsible to pay to have the tree trimmed before that branch tips the tree over and knocks out the power line?
Ps specifically, the tree’s base is in an easement that is our land but surrendered to the neighbors for their use (it was part of our purchase agreement).

As part of my sophomore capstone project, am required to design and fabricate a project. Based on the material we have and the customers idea, I’ve decided to use 2x2x1/8” tube, that was donated to our program to construct the bulk of a weight lifting rack with a spotting bar.
We have a few hundred feet of this material, which is an ASTM a36 steel with an unknown SAE designation. The issue is that it was donated to us because for one reason or another, the producer rejected it due to not meeting an unspecified standard.
As far as I’m concerned, the seam weld could be defective, or the batch didn’t meet mechanical properties specified. We weren’t told why it was rejected or the batches mechanical properties.
The customer, who is an engineer has already approved me to use the material as between him, my professor, and me believe the design and material safety factor is already ridiculously high even taking into consideration the use rejected material.
I’ve done everything I can design wise to ensure the rack can support any amount of weight dropped on the structure (within reasonable human limits) and we are all confident in the design and material that I’ve specified.
I have no intention of doing NDT and DT besides VT along the welded seam of the tube. But I’ve become increasingly curious as to how one would go about testing material of this nature. I spoke with one professor, who said that in order to perform qualitative mechanical tests, multiple full metal tensile specimens would need to be taken from the side that contains the seam weld, and multiple transverse and longitudinal tensile specimens from each side of the tube and it would be impractical. We tossed around the idea of using hardness testing to get an approximation of the tensile capabilities.
I had the idea of using surface wave UT to inspect the entire 12ft weld span and each side of the tube, but reading everything in the tubular clause, and inspection clause relating to UT in D1.1 I couldn’t find anything about the use of surface wave UT to inspect.
I guess I’m just curious and after searching many forums I still have not found anything conducive about surface wave inspection of weldments, or tubular structures.
