It's on my wife's birthday. Before they changed the release date I'd planned on taking the day off work for it and everything. Drop my youngest kid off with my grandma for a while, kick back and spend a good 6 hours uninterrupted with a game I've looked forward to for years. Never thought I'd have been upset about an earlier release for a game I've been very impatiently waiting this long for. Now if I take off work to play a game while my wife still has to work all day I'll just feel and look like an asshole. If I spend the evening playing it instead of with her I'll definitely be an asshole. When people told me marriage can be hard I never expected this. Sure we've had our struggles and came through them together but KCD2? How could I have foreseen this?
TL;DR: sometimes we have to make unfortunate sacrifices for our loved ones.

hello! not sure if this type of question is allowed on this sub, but im really really curious.
can someone who has modded the game or knows how it works or something tell me how, from a game logic/game design/programming perspective DCSS dungeons are generated? theyre like none ive ever seen in any game before. sometimes they seem extremely chaotic, sometimes the total opposite, but either way they seem to create unique and memorable rooms that i find myself wondering about even after my character is long dead.
recently ive been wanting to crack dungeon generation, ive been making games for 5 years but i just cannot seem to get it right, so maybe knowing how DCSS does it would help me find some inspiration or give me a good idea on how to do it myself?
thankyou for your help! the more detail the better to be honest, id watch a 2 hour long video essay on this topic if there was one, and if i understood it i may even consider making that video myself haha. these dungeons have always fascinated me

Currently working a zero HR job but do roughly 30-40 hrs each week.
