I’ve seen constantly comments over the years about Hagrid being well meaning but ultimately (for lack of a better term) a fool when it comes to social interactions. I suppose awkward and out of his element would be a more apt description of Hagrid’s true character. A delightful, to a fault, fellow who shares just a little too much when he should know better.
I just finished the scene in “Chapter 14: Snape’s Grudge” where Harry and Ron visit Hagrid, upon his request, to talk about how Hermione has been visiting him, feeling lonely about her friends alienating her. This is my first time going through all the books in at least 15 years and out of all the character moments so far this one stood out the most.
For one, the first time we really get a deeper sense of Hermione’s character. Someone we’ve spent time with for 2 1/2 books but never really got a sense of her emotional side or how Harry and Ron (despite being her only friends) still didn’t quite understand how their adolescent boyish ways made her feel. I grew up with a younger sister and in hindsight I laugh at the way Harry and Ron treat Hermione. Not because they were inherently wrong, but because knowing what it’s like to be that age and how they don’t get what she’s going thought. Classic case of oblivious 13 year old boys being oblivious 13 year old boys.
As far as Hagrid goes this is the first time I had to stop and think to myself, damn Hagrid made a great point. He just sort of subtly shames the boys for excluding their best friend without overtly making them feel like they’ve done anything intentionally wrong. It’s a great little snippet of the wisdom Hagrid is capable of. A bit talkative and naively friendly, sure, but I think Hagrid was wise beyond his years.

My whole life I've been surrounded by born again Christianity and it never clicked with me but I would go through the motions. But now that I'm older and due to some events in my life I'm basically by myself now but that's off subject. With this new found freedom I've followed up on pagan beliefs and spiritualism cause this does click with me. But the core of what I personally believe is that mother nature is god. She is my goddess and is the source of all life and you can see this with your own eyes. But with this I do believe in land spirits and house spirits cause I interact with my house spirit daily and burn candles and incense for them. So I've been going along with this for awhile but I cant shake the fact that there's something calling me. Like I've said before I belive nature is the all mother. I can answer more questions about my actual belief system but as of now I feel lost but I know this is my truth. So I ask if anyone can give me a little guidance or direction it would be greatly appreciated cause I have no one by me that has a similar belief system. I've done research but I feel like I've pulled things from different beliefs to make my own. I apologize if this is a ramble I just need to get my thoughts out.

last year i was a freshmen and a lot of things have happened to me since then, it was a very bad period of my life and I never wanna relive it. i was getting excluded and made fun of for everything and towards the end of the year i got SA by someone who everyone adores and in turn no one believed me. I was being called stuff like a hoe even though I’ve never had my first kiss and since then I’ve developed horrible social skills. I’ve lost my will to live life and try on things, everytime I do something I never give it my all because I feel like I have nothing to live for. This year, I opened up to my parents and they changed my school and even though all the bullying has stopped I am still depressed. I opened up to my mom about how I was still depressed and had nothing to live for and she got mad at me because she was driving me to my new school and she expects me to suddenly not be depressed anymore. I am failing all my classes and I used to be one of the smartest people in school. I hate opening up to people and I don’t think it’ll get any better.

I can't see any proof of the timing belt being changed at 100k miles (concerning)

I spent a brief time living in the more rural parts of Vermont and Maine a few years ago. I liked how many trees there were everywhere, good summer weather, the ruralness (to a degree) but didn't like the urban/rural decay, declining/aging populations, rampant drug addiction, the super cold winters and while the houses were and are relatively cheap, it's because they're often over 100 years old and in desperate need of major repairs.
I now live in a western state that has a lot less forest coverage and part of me misses being in a place with so many trees; think log cabin on the edge of town/the city with a decent amount of trees and land. So, my wishes for my next potential move are as follows
- Lots of trees
- Affordable (2+ bed 2+ bath houses with a few acres of woodland for under $300K)
- Little to no population decline
- Some semblance of snowy winters but not brutally cold, and summers that aren't oppressively hot
- Being by lakes/rivers/creeks would be nice
- Low crime

I’m a new streamecontent creator and have plans to commission a decent vtubing model once I start making a bit of cash but for right now I just a picture my friend drew and a voice mod. The character is a robot so I found a robotic sounding voice mod to fit and I like it but recently I’ve had a few people pop into my chat and ask me if my mic was echoing and I had to explain that it was the mod. So now I’m worried that it’s too much and actually driving people away from sticking around. I also have a very loud keyboard that the mic picks up as well unfortunately so the combo might be too much. I’m not married to the mod so if it is to much I’m fine leaving it behind but I feel it does help with selling the robot character a bit better. Idk should I trash it or keep it

2025.01.24 01:53 Top-Island5742 I cheated on my ex and did everything to make things right only to find out my ex cheated long beforehand
After an argument with my ex following her not trusting me around my female friends, I got bitter and decided to lead on a girl that I met on the internet. I regret it so much both to the person I led on and to my ex. After doing everything I could to help the situation and own up to my mistakes. My ex reveals to me that she cheated on me before. I loved her and I wanted to fix everything to hopefully put things back to the way they were but now I’m not so sure if I want to do that. We’re on equal ground now with no one having a moral high ground. As cruel as it is to say I have lost most of my remorse and regret and have begun to see it as my ex getting what she deserves. This way of thinking is wrong but I feel so hurt, especially since it didn’t come out until now. I don’t know what to do. I’m not sure if I love her still.
