Switch from Internal to External - Experienced Professional

2025.01.24 02:40 ChaoticGoodBaddie Switch from Internal to External - Experienced Professional

Hi Reddit community,
I’m an Audit Manager at a large bank. I’ve been in internal audit at the same company for 9 years.
Has anyone successfully transitioned from internal audit to external audit as an experienced hire? If so, at what level/title did you enter?
I’m getting tons of interviews and quick offers for Senior Audit Manager roles in internal audit at other banks, but my resume was auto-rejected from the consulting firms to which I applied.
A friend helped me fix my resume (focus on quantitative results instead of qualitative responsibilities), so it should be okay now, but I want to be realistic about my chances.
I do mostly high priority regulatory work, so I’m used to long hours and I regularly manage the consultants we hire, so I’m looking for a similar role where I’d be the consultant instead.
I’m neither a CPA nor a CIA, but I’m planning to get my CIA this year (when the new test begins).
Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

2025.01.24 02:40 Million_Clouds_203 Why Raz x Zanis is a perfect Mid lane x Jungler duo?

Just wanna share my own experiences with Raz. Recently I came back to play Zanis with his newest Chime of Dragon skin (gosh, it's gorgeous ^^). 4 of 7 games were with Raz - a powerful mage during the early phase. And I found out that they can cover each other very well when someone's weakness is the other's strength.
Usually, Zanis will go first to open combats as he is a warrior-type hero with higher resistance. His life-stealing from skill 2 can help him stay longer during combats. Then Raz can go after to finish off any low-HP target with his deadly combos. While Zanis is the initiator, Raz is the assassin.
Raz has high magic damage that can kill instantly low armor and low HP enemies, while Zanis has true damage to deal with heroes who have high armor stats and high HP.
Zanis isn't mobile enough? Don't worry, Raz has skill 1 and skill 3 to reach targets and create lots of crowd control effects. Also, Raz's passive can push back anyone to support Zanis.
To conclude, it doesn't have to be Bijan x Zanis to scare off enemies, even Raz x Zanis can create chaos in battles :))
P/S: Actually, any assassin-type mage hero can go with Zanis Jungler (like Liliana, Veera or Zata). But I find that Raz is so good for team play with his CC and high shock dmg combos.
Also Zanis x Dolia is so good. You should try ^^

2025.01.24 02:40 lucky_peic Did anyone ever had issues when needing to RMA multiple controllers?

So last year in near the end of May I had to RMA left Index controller because capacitive sensor in analog stick stopped working all of sudden just few weeks after my Index kit arrived (bought my kit directly from Steam store in the middle of May), I simply contacted Steam support and got advanced RMA replacement and sent my defective controller back.
Few months ago exactly the same issue appeared on my right controller, the analog stick capacitive sensor stopped detecting my thumb plus another issue was that coating on plastic started chipping away on the grip sensor
At first I tried to ignore it for few months cause I wasnt really playing games that use finger tracking much but recently as I started playing a lot of VRchat again it started annoying me that it isnt working so I finally decided to contact Steam support for RMA under warranty (EU so should be two years and my whole Index kit isnt even a year old), they yet again sent me advanced replacement and prepaid RMA shipping label to return the old one so no problem here.
I know that Steam forums and Reddit are both full of posts about analog sticks drifting and analog stick capacitive sensors dying very very often and that its a known issue since Index launched.
What got me a bit worried is that unlike with my first RMA this time they added note about "having issues across multiple devices is very unusual" and that they will be "ammending services avalible if they determine that issue is not with the device as it was sent to me" which to me seems strange considering its a very know and very common issue with index analog sticks.
So far this is my second and I hope last RMA but should I be afraid of Steam stopping offering warranty support if something breaks again which at least for controllers seems to be a matter of WHEN not IF at least according to tons of posts on reddit and steam forums regarding this same issue, I have no doubt those design flaws are now starting to cost Valve a lot since Index is old and not many people are buying it anymore.
In my whole life I only ever had to RMA a Razer webcam that arrived with broken hinge out of the box and a Razer headphones that were literally dead on arrival and that was years apart while two Index controllers stopped detecting thumb capacitive sensor literally months apart.
I always take great care of my expensive tech cause I do not like being careless with something expensive I bought with my hard earned money and have taken all precautions I found online to try and prevent sticks from either drifting or thumb capacitive sensor from dying but no matter how careful and mindful I was about those flaws in Index controllers both controllers still managed to suffer exact same issue just months apart.
I hope that supports "note" isnt alluding to stopping support/RMA offers for what is common and known issue that happens often on those controllers.
For such expensive kit Im not about to ignore faulty parts, for such expenisve kit I expect that they keep providing support until warranty expires, especially for known issues.
As I said, so far theres been no issue but that note they added has me worried that they might try to get out of honoring warranty if controller issues pop up again.
Or maybe since English isnt my first language I might be misunderstanding the note.
Anyway, sorry for long post, just wanted to know if anyone had issues with support when it comes to defects that appear often with those controllers, I have seen many posts where people had to RMA way more than just two controllers, hopefully whatever new headset they have in store for future fixes those issues so RMAs that are so short apart can be avoided.

2025.01.24 02:40 MichaelSauga89 WHY IS THERE NO ONE MAKING MUPPET MINIFIGS?!?!

I know that there’s the Calypso Guy with his poorly coloured/painted figs but I’m not paying $45-60 (I don’t even know what currency that’s in) for minifigs.
I’m not sure why no one wants to make these characters as figures… then again I have no 3D printing/3D modelling knowledge so maybe it’s harder than I imagine. But there are SO MANY characters that I just don’t get WHY no one’s out there making these heads or these prints for figs
Maybe another set will come around when the Muppets turn 75 or something but Disney made such a big deal of their 70th anniversary that it seems like a no brainer to make a 2nd wave of minifigs

This credit union will be closed on Presidents Day coming up. But, all credit union employees will not be off at all. Instead, they will all be in Gonzales at Premier Lanes for their annual training Day. They will spend the day bowling, riding bumper cars and playing video games throughout the complex. They do this every single year and choose different sites to do this within the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. Employees as far north as Ruston and Monroe are all required to go to this event each year. So, this is not truly a holiday at all since the employees are not off and required to attend this event yearly.

2025.01.24 02:40 confusedmallutechie DevOps Engineer - Skill assessment

I am an Electronics Engineering graduate with 11 years of experience in System Administration, Linux, Cloud, and DevOps, and I am in the process of getting my skills assessed. I understand that DevOps Engineer is not listed under the visa categories for 189/190. Therefore, I would like to explore my options.

  1. Can I apply for the Software and Applications Programmers (NEC) 261399 or Software Engineer 261313 skill assessment? Although none of my previous job titles have been "Software Engineer" (I’ve held titles like Systems Engineer and DevOps Engineer), I have experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) and Ansible. Could this be considered as software development experience? If I can apply for the Software Engineer assessment, what should be included in the reference letters from my previous employers?
  2. My skillset also aligns with the Systems Administrator (262113) role, which is eligible for the 190 and 491 visas. What are the chances of obtaining a regional visa with this skillset? Is it better to consider the Software Engineer route (if applicable) instead of Systems Administrator?

I have an Ibanez SR300e with one of those super thin Ibanez necks, would it be an issue to use 55-110 gauge for E standard? I play tuned down to C often but I also play songs in standard. Specific strings I'm looking at are Ernie Ball Power Slinky.
