hi all, i am here to seek advice about my neighbour dispute. i am living in an integrated rental block with narrow corridors, and my neighbour has a lot of things outside, including their big altar, plants, and cabinets. our block layout is long, and the only wheelchair accessible lift is on the left side (their side) if their items topple and block the corridor (which has already happened), my neighbours and i on the right won’t be able to get out unless someone moves the obstruction. i can move the obstruction easily but i have a wheelchair bound neighbour 2 units down. i’m also worried about whether emergency response teams, like those with gurneys, can pass through in an emergency.
on top of that, they burn incense every day, continuously throughout the day, with the last stick burning close to midnight. i’ve documented timestamps for this. this started back in 2021 when they moved their altar to the common corridor. i only began reporting the issue in late 2024 around dec because i felt severe discomfort caused by the smoke and smell blown directly into my apartment, and it’s constant. it’s the first thing i experience in the morning and the last thing before bed. i tried to tolerate it for a long time because i believe in respecting their right to practice their religion but now it feels like it’s at the expense of my health.
i’ve reported their actions through multiple channels, but all i’ve seen are advisories being issued and only town council replies me. not a word from nea and hdb. today, town council came by again, and when i got home from work, my neighbour confronted me when i walk by their unit. they threatened me, saying they “own the corridor” because they pay hdb for it, so they can place whatever they want and do whatever they want. they also called me a coward for reporting to the town council (we’re not on speaking terms) they used to tell me a day in advance if they had religious practices that would generate loud noises and apologize for any inconvenience. i was okay with that because i could just leave my apartment for an hour and come back. (they stated it would last no more than an hour) but recently, they stopped informing me, and the noise and smoke have gotten worse. on a weekend when i thought i could sleep in, they made loud noise (drumming and other instruments) for four hours with continuous smoke coming into my apartment. i captured this on my doorbell camera and it looked like forest fire outside t.t not even exaggerating.
we had an agreement last week (as informed by the town council) that they would make offerings outside and then bring the incense pot inside to let it burn out. but they haven’t honored this. i assumed it might been because of the pongal festival, so i didn’t raise the issue out of respect and waited for the festival to pass. but even after that, they kept doing things their way. when i brought this up, they threatened to call the police on me, accusing me of taking photos of them. to clarify, i didn’t take any photos of them, their faces, or their apartment just pictures of the incense and the corridor to document how it’s affecting me.
they also said they’ll call the police regardless and continue burning incense however they want making sure i will “suffer” in my flat and that it’s “too bad” for me and i can’t do anything about it. i managed to capture part of the altercation on my doorbell cam but not the full conversation.
i’m an orphan living in a two-bedder left by my late parents, and i don’t know what to do if their son tries something again. i also found out they’re renting under the public rental scheme, but i don’t know if that changes anything. i’m just trying to find common ground without disrespecting anyone’s race or religion but it feels impossible with how hostile they’ve become.
what should i do? i’m at my wit’s end here.
update: they called the police on us after we came back from dinner. we had no interaction with them prior. town council called me to update that they attended the mediation and said they were apologetic and are open to find common middle ground where both parties can live with. tc mentioned that the new agreement that they proposed are:
- make offerings only at 7am and 7pm lasting no longer than 10mins (incense burn time)
- keep their incense box closed while it’s burning
- keep the box after their done.
regardless, tc said they will follow this agreement. but they breached it immediately.
the call ended at about 5:40pm. 5:50pm, they started to make their offerings. i thought ok, maybe they prayed earlier. but i was wrong. it was continuous all the way till 11:30pm. when the police was here, they saw what was going on too. i showed them the agreement they had with town council and clearly they had no intention on following through.
like i fully understand it’s their religion and im not attacking their practices. it has been going on for over a decade. if i am against it why would i wait till now? it’s only when i went for a check up and started experiencing shortness of breath that i raised this issue. i don’t vape i don’t smoke and the doctor said incense may not be the root cause but does contribute to it after prolonged exposure. their incense burning is not x and x. it’s continuous starting as early as 6am ending as late as 12am.
i even noted to tc that i appreciate that they actually did reduce the burning and stopped in the afternoon but continuous in the evening till night. but i am away at work in the afternoon it doesn’t affect me but when i return home in the evening, it does if it is continuous.
i’m just a little confused because town council’s description of them seemed like they were willing to resolve this and reduce the burning to morning and night during offerings.
i also feel like that’s not how mediation works… they can’t just keep breaching the agreement and tc just make a new one with them. this is like the 4th one already and none have been honoured.
i agreed to mediate but only through CMC. i have emphasised on this to tc like 3 times. but they still want me to head down to tc to mediate.
i’ve tried to apply for CMC myself but i need their full name and contact and the guide say i can obtain via INLIS or iRAS. but they are under PRS they don’t have the information on those sites. what do i do then?
i guess they really meant what they said. to make sure i suffer.

My family has always been tumultuous at best but we try to be present and respectful for the most part..quick back story there are 4 siblings from different relationships our alcoholic mother had throughout her reign of terror on Earth and everyone close to her, me(f47), Sam(m39), and the twins Bob and Sue(m&f 31) have all had various horrific stories of being raised by someone with NPD and substance abuse...that being said we all tried to stick together despite our vast age differences and life stages. I have been the protector and therefore the one to blame mostly by our mother (to which I don't care because she has refused numerous interventions...Sam is the fixer who helps with mediation and things like that, Bob is mostly absent from moms outbursts and hates any confrontation, Sue on the other hand thrives on confrontation and will sometimes start an argument only to say "You can't talk to me like that because sis and Sam are here" then the drunken anger gets turned on me and Sam unwittingly. So there's a little family backstory. My husband Dan(58m) and I have basically tried to limit time with the super dramatic "family time". My mother called and wanted to do a "sibling birthday dinner " because we all have birthdays in November, despite the fact that Sam and Sue weren't speaking because she had gotten drunk one too many times and used a stolen debit card of his for Ubers and bar tabs and they had a verbal argument. And Sue hadn't spoken to me in months of attempted phone calls and ignored texts, because she said "I was old and boring and worked too much " But in an effort to mend fences and enjoy time with my mom being nice my husband and I agreed to host, Sam declined and said he had strep throat and warned me to decline because it would be a dumpster fire evening. I thought it would be mind numbing and agonizing having to hear about my sisters drama with whoever she was mad at and what unlucky guy she was using at the moment but I thought we could maybe turn it into a positive or at least live through it. Anywho, on to the blessed evening, my husband and I were of course supplying everything the steaks, appetizers, booze, dessert everything for this upcoming uncomfortable dinner with family that didn't find us financially useful so therefore had become virtual strangers.My mother and sister arrived and my sister announced that she was hungover and hadn't felt like showering after her partying last night, my mom just grinned and said something about missing being young and beautiful (insert eye roll and awkward hugs and conversation) I told them that Sam had strep throat so he couldn't make it, my sister and mom said something about how it was best he wasn't coming, I let that go. My husband was trying to play music and make cocktails while we waited on Bob who is always late. Sue immediately started badmouthing Sam since he hadn't attended and I asked her to not talk about him, I told her he loved her and they would work everything out but I wanted to remain as neutral as possible and told her that I had asked him to have the same respect for their situation. She laughed and said that was a lie and that she wasn't wanting my opinions but needed to vent and proceeded to start telling outrageous lies about him. My mom just patted my hand and said she needed to vent and it was best to let her. I asked her again to just let it rest and that I didn't want to spend the evening in my own home hearing negative things. My husband suggested a new bottle of wine to intervene and that we could just talk about anything other than Sue and Sam's argument. Sue rolled her eyes and proceeded to tell us about a new friend that she hated and another guy she had broken up with for some reason that wasn't her fault. She started out right lying about Sam at that point and our mother was literally holding her hand and apologizing for her "trauma " this was an argument I didn't witness but it was verbal and I received phone calls from all of my siblings and my mother about it at the time and now she was adding "extra details " and saying she just wished she and my mom could go shopping or have a spa day to forget it all...I actually have anxiety and understand trauma and hearing her say all of this to get free spa treatments and clearly lying and still bashing our brother after I'd asked her several times to please stop..basically I lost my shit. I yelled at her and told her I knew she was lying because I had received 4 separate phone calls about the argument and all the basic details were exactly the same in the phone calls and I couldn't believe she had the audacity to add fake abuse to first discredit our brother and second to use our mother for spa services and sympathy. She said I was old and fat and just angry about that so I asked her if it would make her feel better if my old fat ass slapped her like she claimed our brother had done so that she wouldn't be a liar and told her to leave my home. She left along with our mother who texted me over the next few days about how horrible I had acted and about a month later texted asking to borrow money because Sue had used her AmEx without her knowledge, I told her we couldn't contribute to Sue's behavior and sent her a link on how to prosecute. She told me that she will never look at me again and I can rot in hell. Sam thinks enough time has passed and we should sweep it under the rug and still try to keep in touch for holidays and I disagree, my husband says good riddance to drama and freeloaders so AITA

- If I hold FDLXX in my brokerage account, will it be available for immediate withdraw? Or would it need to be in a CMA account?
- How fast is the withdraw from FDLXX in a CMA to a bank account?
- After moving from SPAXX to FDLXX and it settles, will it show as my balance to be able to trade the money in there?

The amount of random 4th & long conversions I see are literally astronomically ridiculously high. It’s unrealistic and out of control and Madden really needs to do something about it. I’m talking like 4th and 27, 4th and 15, 4th and 22 just random screen plays or standard passes converting at a rate way higher than 50%. Trust me I have played thousands of games I consistently see this. FIX IT
