2025.01.24 05:21 liteshotv3 Was building my own PC a mistake? This prebuilt is better and cheaper
I wanted to build my wife a PC for Christmas. Went with the Excellent Gaming Build option on the front page of PCPartPicker. Had a faulty CPU, took awhile to diagnose and ended up taking a couple weeks after Xmas till I fully got it up and running.
So now I see this deal at Costco. I’m don’t know how the intel compares with AMD, but I’m gonna take a guess that a $500 24 core cpu outperforms a $300 6-core. Everything else is the same. It comes with a mouse and keyboard that’s not even factored into my build, and the whole thing ends up being cheaper (on sale) than the machine I built.
Honestly wondering if it was worth building my own PC, or if I made some mistake buying around the time that I did, because I can’t tell for the life of me why I wouldn’t go with a prebuilt like that.
The only upside is, I actually had a really good time putting it together and tinkering, minus the times I exchanged perfectly good parts because I couldn’t figure out my CPU hated me.

I’m moving to Madrid, Spain with my two best friends towards the end of the year. One of them is applying for a different position within the company she currently works at to relocate in the Madrid office. The other is teaching English at a school. I was considering teaching English but the program my friend is doing requires a bachelors degree. After doing some research, most teaching programs require a bachelor’s degree except for the TEFL program that provides you a teaching certificate- no bachelors needed, however, the standalone TEFL program is held in Barcelona, not Madrid. Anyone have any advice on how I can get a job in Madrid before moving there? I speak a little Spanish, maybe enough to get me around. I heard the work sponsored visas are difficult to obtain. Any advice, tips, and recommendations would be helpful.

Hey all,
I can't find anything on the Alaska website or the BofA website, (and various answers through other web searches) but can an authorized user of an Alaska credit card, apply for their own Alaska credit card?
An authorized user of mine, who has good credit and income just applied for one (as we thought it would be okay) and they got denied. They are sending something in the mail explaining why, but we can't think of any actual financial reasons as to why they were denied. (Minimal debts, great credit score etc.) Would already being an authorized user of my (as the primary account holder) have screwed up the application for them?
If anyone has any insight, would be appreciated! Thanks.

Hello I had a power outage for about 10-15 min and after that anything that I had connected to my Ethernet stopped working. My connection is like this : Archer AX53 -> switch and from there the eternet ports in different rooms, and none of them works. Also I have the easy mesh system through WiFi setup and if I try connecting something to my easy mesh routers through Ethernet ports it works.
Is there something I can do?
