2025.01.24 05:20 Ok-Charge-6574 Breaking a song up into sections for mixing
Hi: I've recorded and mixed quite a few of my own songs but I've been using automation and event fx to change how I process my verses, chorus, mid 8's, ect. to add energy, saturation, different fx or Eq in different sections of my songs. It works but automation can be time consuming. I don't mind automating faders for different sections of a song but when your creating lot's of automation it get's tedious.
I'm wondering: is it much easier to break a song up into separate tracks and process them this way ? Example: if I have a vocal take that I comped together or even laid down in one full take, would I just split/splice it up into separate tracks ? Verse on one track, Chorus on another track and then process the tracks this way hoping my crossfades are good enough to eliminate artifacts or popping when i bounce them or mix them down ? Or is better to just record a song in sections from the start on separate tracks ? Record all Verse sections on one track and then Chorus sections or mid 8's on another track either comping or punching in.

Long story short, while getting everything together for this year I realized I made a mistake for the last couple years, I want to file an amended return for 2022 and 2023 to fix this. Unfortunately I do not have the 2022 version on this computer (I did it on my old PC) I still have my license key email for 2022, but not the installer.
It seems I can download 2024 from the turbo tax website (without even purchasing it?) but to get prior years I need to sign in. But I did not buy direct from turbo tax I bought from Amazon and no longer have access to that amazon account I purchased it with. Is there somewhere where I can still download the 2022 installer for PC?

Back in September I (50F) found out my (50M) husband was buying breakfast for his (25F) assistant. I also found out he was taking her lunch because of some credit card receipts and then when I confronted him about those receipts, I found out that we had $8000 worth of debt that I didn't know about – and the things he listed that I knew about only came till about $2200
Since then I've been asking him to stop getting close to this young lady and please go to counseling or set up couples counseling.
He elected to go to individual counseling. There's a post I did two months ago about foolishly eavesdropping on about 10 minutes of one of his sessions and I discovered that he was portraying me as someone who didn't work in our relationships at all with any of it. But in reality I've been telling him to stay away from being anything more than professional with her
Two weeks ago I had a conversation with him or I explained that his office doors have walls and i'm hearing he's still asking her to go to lunch knowing it would just be them (he promised me he would stop that). I also heard that she is complaining about her husband to him and he is complaining about me to her
I begged him to stop these behaviors – that not only was this following a very common fact to an affair, but if this lady gets mad at him for any reason, is Las and buying her breakfast and lunch and complaining about his wife could be perceived a sexual harassment and it could cost in his job
Tonight he told me that his therapist thinks I'm insecure. She says it's insecure of me to not want him to be around his coworkers. I asked him if he specified that I'm not talking about his other coworkers I'm talking about the female assistant. that if he was buying donuts for everyone I wouldn't care. But he's not buying donuts for everyone: he's buying donuts for just them before everyone else gets there
We live in a very small town where he's been here much longer than me and I still don't really know anyone. But this information wouldn't come to me for no reason! I'm worried he's going to get fired and, I'm worried this woman is distracting him from truly working on our marriage (which you can read about in my other posts - things are pretty bad)
I found the mailing address of the therapist from something she said to him. There's no phone number or email. I really wanna write a letter to her to explain the real problem. I feel like we can't move forward unless we address the truth. On the other hand, maybe she already sees through it and is just keeping him comfortable so he'll open up more and more. Or maybe she'll see that is even more insecurity and not believe a word I say.
TL; DR: if your husband told you he lied to his therapist about what you perceived to be an emotional affair building, would you tell the therapist? Husband does not want to do couples therapy or have you attended his session

he won’t stop talking about his plan on going to germany with his friends this summer and hasn’t mentioned anything about wanting me to come. of course, he is allowed to do things without me, but i already see him only once a month because he’s busy in university so it is a bit frustrating. and not to mention that all i can think about is how i’m always hearing about how beautiful european women are, and about nude beaches being common in europe. should i have a conversation with him about it or would i just sound crazy? are there a lot of nude areas in germany? if anyone who lives there or has been there could give me some insight i would really appreciate it :)

I currently have a T1 Phono SB Turntable w/ Phono Preamp with an Era 100. Everything is working great, but the volume isn’t very loud. The Era 100 is using Source Level 10, but the audio is just so low.
I don’t have a new Sonos Amp in budget right now, and was wondering if anyone had any ~$100 amps I could use to boost the volume/ramp up the wattage to the line-in for the Era 100 I’m using right now.
To be honest, I’m kicking myself for not just getting the Amp instead.
There’s some second gen Sonos Amps going for 100-200 on eBay, FWIW.

Iv been trying to play her for a while now and honestly I feel like she was only added to fulfill a contract with Sony or something. She has one of the smallest kits in the game, her abilities don’t actually flow into each other like most characters, and they have made no attempt to make her viable. It just seems like she had no effort put into her during production.

imma keep it a buck 50 like i always do. 4x4 just doesn't hit bro. mixing on his first verse/chorus was hard to listen to (reverb was set wayyy to high). 2nd verse was good i fw it heavy. instrumental at the end was an hour long idk why he needed to do allat.
we do also gotta realize that this is because we've been reloading this song from the snippets and they sound totally different.
either way.. k-pop was the first single dropped by trav for utopia and it didn't turn out good but the album did so hopefully this the same thing 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Im just over it. Tonight was the last straw. I have had to call the fire department because the bathroom was turned into a meth hotbox, human waste smeared everywhere, people sleeping in there, people trying to hide in there at close. Needles, blood etc. I’m just absolutely done.
And GOD FORBID I’m not ok with being asked to clean up human shit from a door handle, then I hate the homeless and have no humanity.
So before the virtue signaling jackasses rip me a new one, I volunteer. I donate. I’ve been a sponsor and I support legitimate solutions for the homeless. It’s actually possible to absolutely refuse to tolerate someone’s behavior while still accepting their humanity.

Hi all. Hoping for some help. My house has these two dwarf Leptospermum Lemon Hedge shrubs planted two feet away from the house. We are on highly reactive soil here (clay) and I'm always concerned about my foundation! These are just about fully grown height wise. I've been trimming between it and the wall mostly to spot any termite activity. I have the gutter there leading moisture away from the house which theoretically should encourage the roots to go that way however I am unable to find much info online about if it's safe to leave these plants here or if risk to foundation is too high and I should attempt to transplant them another couple feet forward. Would really love some feedback. These are the only plants in the ground against the house. Every thing else is in pots. Appreciate any help.
