I dated a man for a few months and became pregnant by mistake. This relationship soon ended. I spent most of my pregnancy and my child’s first year of life separated from his father who is highly emotionally abusive, sexually and physically abusive, emotionally unstable, pathological lier, cheater (23 plus women in a few short months) just an all around scum bag, most of which I found out later and over time. I found most of this out when I have him a second chance around my child’s age 1 -2, then left to live in hotels briefly before getting back on my feet. I am remarried and my child’s first year is age 5 now. But his abusive father was arrested for endangerment and has probation in three counties and the judge is still going to give him unsupervised parenting time where I must drive to his home to drop him off. He constantly harasses me and threatens me but the judge won’t hold contempt for our no contact order. I need to just get away. How do I do this? I need my life back and my child’s life back. I have an older child and I’m missing out on his childhood as well being in constant court and conflict with this person. My anxiety is through the roof and my health is suffering. I can’t reach my potential at work because of it and fear I need to quit my job soon for my health and some heart issues due to stress. I just can’t go on like this much longer emotionally or financially with the loss of work and constant court. What should I do? How do I escape the abuse? How do I protect my child? Please help.

 | I want to stay by saying thanks to everyone’s insight in advance. Our 9 year old Chihuahua is usually very active, running and has a great appetite! Tuesday night she threw up, my wife and I figured it was pretty normal cleaned up and went to bed. She threw up again Wednesday morning, she continued to do so throughout the day. She only drank water, no food, but would vomit almost immediately after drinking water. We decided to wait a little longer to see if she got over it, but this morning (Thursday) she was doing worse, so we walked into the ER at 8:00am. They did an X-ray, found nothing. Ultrasound, nothing. Then they did blood work and found elevated *something * I don’t remember the exact words from our doctor. Basically they told us her kidneys were failing and she either had to be hospitalized or she would continue to decline in health. My wife and I were very distraught, they said something like that would stay at around $12,000. We don’t have that kind of money, we would have to go into crushing debt to afford something like that. Doctor mentioned this would really just be for IV and continued tests, with no real hope of her getting any better. We came home to think it over. I did research and read that acute kidney failure like they said she had would be due to a toxin that she ate. We checked everything around home and we’re certain there’s nothing that she ate that would have caused this. We really don’t know what to do, and too emotional to really make a decision. Should we look for another opinion? What are the chances she will continue living if doing the hospitalization? She’s our first dog and been with us since we got married, we would hate to lose her, but understand if it’s her time. Any help or advice is appreciated.
