2025.01.24 11:20 JumpyYak2699 How to deal with tall aggressive fighters?
Hi I’m 5’3 and struggle when taller people are more aggressive. I seem to get overwhelmed with boxing when they come in really close and also struggle to close the distance myself. I’ve found that I’ll often throw a kick and they’ll rush in.

2025.01.24 11:20 AppointmentDue235 Revolut declined payment
Hi! It's my second time in London, and I've always used Revolut on the tube with no issue. But today I got on the Elizabeth line (Heathrow to Paddington), and my card said it blocked the transaction because of my location. I asked a worker in the tube, and he just told me to go ahead, and despite not being charged, the gates opened.
But now on the central line, my card didn't work, and I had to use another method. Will I have issues because the payment didn't work for the Elizabeth line?

2025.01.24 11:20 Gedankenleserin Help me type myself
Ok. So I'm not sure what's the best way to approach this. I did answer the questions and I wrote some extra stuff on the bottom but then I realized that I wouldn't choose to talk about the things asked and that's bound to be significant as well. I mean, what you choose to talk about or how you choose to approach the issue.
So yeah, after a 20.000 odd essay I decided to write another one. I did ask ChatGPT though. It said INFP initially but when I asked from it to use the functions and pay extra attention to Fi vs Fe it said INFJ or INTP.
But yeah not sure if this is the best way. According to my own analysis, It say I use the pairs Ne-Si and Fe-Ti. I'm not entirely sure whether Ne-Si could be Ni though. I do know that my Se is really low. Perhaps lower than Si
I won't talk about my hobbies nor my interests. Nor if Im organized and what not. I don't think these tell you much really. On the contrary I think they might mislead people because of stereotypes. But if you think they are important you can ask a follow-up question.
I won't talk about my past either even though I do see how things that could seem function related could be instead learned behaviors from our childhood. But yeah, I don't have much to talk about anyways.
Even though I understand that if I ask a hundred people about how or who I am they will probably come up with a hundred different responses because we tend to see the world through our own eyes, experiences and insecurities and thus we project our prejudices on others, I do want your opinion on this one. So, I think the best way is to tell you how I perceive the world and how I make decisions.
First decisions. I try to be logical and I often am, but my emotions, fear most of all do get in the way sometimes. But the thing is I don't often have strong enough desires to overcome the fear. When I do, it's much easier to fight it. I don't know if I think of others when making decisions but I always understand their point of view and where they come from. In societal or political debates for example I never take a clear stance. To decide I also narrow down possibilities based on various factors dependsing on the issue. I think I do feel emotions strongly and I try not to until they explode and this can affect the way I approach things. When I make decisions of a larger scale, I always have clear logical-appearing reasons to support my actions but I often think that maybe Im just kidding myself and I make the evidence match an already reached decision. The reason why I chose Fe/Ti instead of Fi/Te is because I seem to understand others a lot better than myself. I don't have strong views either since I see all points of view. I lack Te organization too and I think things my own way most of the time even though I might read stuff from various sources to help me form an opinion or understand something. I don't necessarily adhere to societal norms though and sometimes I catch myself looking down on people who do but then I remember that we all need different things and I can never know why others choose to do so. I will partake in traditions that are important to my family though for their sake. I have my boundaries though too.
Ok. Now Perception. I think I operate a bit differently under different situations. I think I detect both Ni-Se and Ne-Si behaviors. My memory isn't that good though. I have to keep notes which I often don't and when I do something I don't always know how I did it so when I have to do it again I often have to go through the whole process again. Or I vaguely remember some steps and I work my way through them. I have to search again for the solution is what I am trying to say even though I solved it before. I notice inconsistencies in my environment though. I don't know if that's more Se than Si. Things that don't follow a used pattern. Or maybe it's more about patterns really. Im good at recognizing them and thus I know when a pattern has been broken. I often come up with various explanations for events and there's always a what if. I've noticed though that with people and more people related stuff my perception is more focused. I pick up stuff from their behaviors and I come to single conclusions which I then test. But with impersonal things I think of multiple solutions or explanations. I think of many possibilities and then I start narrowing things down. It's a more conscious process than the one with people. I think how I perceive the world in short is through patterns though. And secondly many explanations. The reason why I chose Ne/Si instead of Ni/Se initially was because of how low my Se seemed to be. But I was basing my decision on stereotypes perhaps. Like, I don't like sports, I'm always in my head and I don't notice things around me, I don't enjoy nature or being present and I think a physical experience with something is not necessary to understand something as long as you can learn about it. I think that the stuff that are important for understanding the world are the inner ones that you can understand through learning, thought and inner understanding. Direct experience is not always necessary since it mostly gives you access to how things look like not how they are. I also think I'm much closer to Si but again, stereotypes mostly. I have trouble with making big changes in my life for instance and sometimes I follow a rigid program. I chose Ne because of my lack of vision for the future and the fact that I perceive many possibilities for the most part.
But here I am wondering if the things I just said are true ( not that there's only one truth of course) or whether I see in myself what I want to see.

2025.01.24 11:20 ebinovic Decadeology in different countries
This has been a pretty interesting sub to browse in the light of recent events, but I can't help but notice that many posts here are centred around USA/the West (which I'm not complaining about, after all most of Reddit users are from those places!). Thus, I would like to invite people from other regions of the world to share the decade-by-decade trends as they happened in their countries. I'll start with Lithuania, a country I was born and grew up in, starting with the end of WW1 and creation of the modern Lithuanian state:
-1920s: the end of very chaotic independence wars, loss of a large part of territory (including our capital city), lots of poverty and a fascist coup happening years before fascism became popular in much of the West
-1930s: first period of our cultural integration into the Western European sphere, a rise in living standards overshadowed by constant threat of another war and a fascist regime, and the beginning of basketball becoming our national sport and a very important part of Lithuanian national culture
-1940s-early 1950s: WW2, Nazi and Soviet occupations and immense suffering brought by mass genocides, deportations and totalitarian regimes. Complete cultural repression by Nazi and Stalinist regimes destroyed any artistic value and influence that could had been created during this period
-late 1950s-1970s: the first somewhat "chill" period in a long time. The presence of an authoritarian occupation still overshadowed everything, but living standards somewhat recovered from the mass suffering of the previous 15 years and the culture got freer, lots of relatively good literature and movies came out during that time. First attempts at dipping into the Western culture in the 1970s getting repressed by the Soviet state. Cultural comparison to the West: 1950s but extended to 3 decades.
-1980s: Soviet economic stagnation started hitting every facet of life in Lithuania; massive cultural and artistic revolution, especially propelled by the political liberalisation of 1980s and a rising independence movement, with lots of experimentation and discovery of both Western and modern local culture; economic stagnation, independence movement, ecological catastrophes and war in Afghanistan propelling the biggest political movement in our history. Personally I find late 1980s to be my favourite cultural period in Lithuania's history, comparable to 1960s in the West
-1990s: a very shitty period in terms of quality of life, with a massive economic downturn and lots of crime, but also lots of hope for the better future after the fall of USSR. The full force of Western culture hit us in a way that we didn't know how to deal with it, and thus it resulted in a lot of fun cringe when trying to absorb it. Cultural comparison to the West: very bootleg 1970s
-2000s: a meteoric rise in living standards and an equally meteoric fall in crime, with a lot of business-oriented approach at everyday life. Very flashy culture which still hadn't gotten refined, thus extending the "cringe" period from the 90s. Joining EU and NATO finally made us feel secure in our future. Overall would have been a great decade if much of that progress didn't get ruined by the horrible 2008 economic crisis. Cultural comparison to the West: bootleg 1980s.
-2010s: recovery from the economic crisis and a much more sustainable rise in living standards. The culture got more refined and overall more diverse and interesting. The decade started off optimistically, but the first russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014 and the first signs of culture wars made it somewhat scarier. Overall the first decade in centuries of Lithuanian history that could genuinely be called "good". Cultural comparison to the West: 1990s-2000s.
-2020s: Covid, inflation and war in Ukraine deeply affected us, at least socially. More diverse political thought and political activism started rising up. Even despite the first three things mentioned, I would very much argue that it is so far the best decade Lithuania has ever had, where the country started feeling like an integral part of the West both economically and culturally. Cultural comparison to the West: 2010s-today

2025.01.24 11:20 chaiyeesen Fake tracking number shows delivered but seller admitted to not able to ship the item and asked me to close order.
Bought a laptop battery, seller gave me a tracking number for DHL courier but dropped me a message saying my country banned the import of lithium battery. After a few days tracking number showed delivered while I was waiting at home, I called DHL to verify and confirmed item was delivered to another intended person with a different address in the same country.
However the info from the tracking number doesn’t show address or intended person. Is the seller’s message enough to get a refund?

Just like a game of Monopoly!
I made a formal complaint to Barclays about their handling of a club account I manage. It took over a year to add another person to our mandate. They have been investigating the issue for a couple of months and today awarded us £200.
If you ever have problems with your bank, always ask to make a formal complaint. They have to treat it seriously and will probably award you some compensation if the complaint is upheld.
