I’ve emailed a few times trying to get in touch with someone about my boyfriend’s birthright citizenship and trying to get information on where to begin in the process.
(His dad was born in Athens and adopted by an American couple when he was a toddler) so now we’re trying to figure out what to do and what papers we need besides the dad’s birth certificate.

2025.01.24 18:19 FeedMeSalt Interested in buying my first army, have some questions
Hey, so as the title says, because GW brought back Fantasy I'm thinking of getting into the wargaming part of Warhammer (most of my experience has actually been the TTRPG, but I have painted a fair amount of other minis for board games before). I want to visit a game store tomorrow mostly to look around and see what they have on offer, and I've been thinking about getting either a Tomb Kings army or maybe Dwarfs. If anyone has any general tips or resources for a newcomer, let me know.
I'm leaning more towards TK because of their nice starter set, Settra is the GOAT, and I like their monsters and chariots (I'd probably want to add a Warsphinx and Tomb Scorpions to the army eventually). For Dwarfs I'm less sure what would be a good addition to their battalion set that I've seen, aside from a hero character, some Organ Guns and Cannons.
One strange "advice" I've heard from a friend of mine was not to buy any of the current models, because they're all old and according to him GW are going to be rolling out new and updated models anyway and it's a waste of money to buy an army now. I couldn't find any info on this so I assume he just pulled it out of his ass, but because Fantasy and AoS have this weird crossover with models and I'm not at all caught up on anything GW, I though I'd ask just in case.

I am not worthy. I get to live during the summer of Kendrick and now this? I don't know about y'all, but while I was enthralled by Ep 1 and thought it was such a great opening to focus on the innie aftermath and motivations to stay, I am FLOORED by the unrelenting and effortless world-building in 45 minutes of season 2; breaking open Helena's charactecontext as well as Dylan's, giving Irvin and Burt a complete new mysterious angle (I think Irving is a major badass) and showing Cobel in her best and most human light yet (IMO), ALL with the best cinematography and acting I could ever hope for in a show...am I dead?
Oh and Devon is maybe now my favorite character, though it's kind of a seven-way tie. Idk, these first two episodes in combination to me are absolutely masterful storytelling and filmmaking, and IMO it's already a masterpiece in handling the aftermath of the greatest cliffhanger of my young life.
They have a plan, praise Kier.

My Rival-S started having failures to fire that were gradually getting worse.
I finally figured out that it seemed to be the firing pin maybe being worn down a bit. I swapped in the whole firing pin assembly from my Rival and the gun ran reliably for a whole match. Meanwhile, I put the one from the Rival-S into my Rival and then ended up letting another shooter borrow it and he started having failures to fire.
So, I looked online to order a new striker for the firing pin assembly in my Rival-S. I could not find info. I emailed Canik (via the Support page on their website, including my Rival-S serial number). They sent me 2 new complete firing pin assemblies under warranty. One for my Rival and one for my Rival-S.
Awesome job, Canik!
But, they came in two baggies with two different part #s on the bags, They look identical, so I emailed back to ask. They said:
c5598-k210b is for the rival-s c5534-k210b is for the sfx rival
I asked if there is any way to tell which is which after you take them out of their bags, as they look identical to me.
The reply said: "I'm not sure, I'm not to familiar with the parts specifically. I'm sorry for any inconveniences this may cause."
So, I have not mixed them up (yet). But, beware. I really expected the Rival and Rival-S to share the exact same parts for the whole firing pin assembly, but apparently, they don't.
I wish I knew what the exact differences are. On visual inspection, they look identical.

I have read about the red envelopes, but I am a college student in my 20’s and I don’t know if it would be okay to give the girl I babysit an envelope since I am single. I was thinking a nice bottle of wine and some sweets for the parents? In general, I think arena as a separate and limited game mode is a success, and I hope IM experiments with other limited game modes that provide a different spin on how we play the game.
As a limited / nominal game event idea, I think it would be silly if IM stitched together every single map as one big continuous dungeon.
You spawn in Goblin Caves, extract into Frost Mountain, and then into Forgotten Castle where you end up at Inferno. Over time as IM adds more maps, they just pile onto the endless dungeon.
IM could keep the game exactly the same, they could use it as a tournament bracket organizer, they could set up a PVE raid mode where everyone gets to loot the same boss, etc.
Just imagine for a second how silly a raid mode would be, with like a dozen or so people trying to kill every single boss on every single map back to back lol
