I’ve never understood this take and why it’s become such a common saying on this sub.
Just because Letterboxd is a downloadable app in your phone doesn’t make it become Film Twitter or Film Reddit. What could you possible be doing spending so much time on the app besides cataloging that makes it social media? The only sociable part of the app is in the comments of reviews or lists, but even then I’d hardly call those “discourse.”
Letterboxd’s primary purpose is as a diary, where you can catalogue and check off any film you’ve seen. I’d wager most people who found Letterboxd chose to join it because of how good the UI is and how accessible it is, not because of any social media aspect to it.
Genuinely, what do people mean when they argue this? I usually only see it as a defence for the jokey surface level reviews which reach the top for every trending film.

Careers with no more than 2 years of schooling?
I’ve been a realtor for 7 years, and the income is back and worth. That said I made $150k after taxes last year which goes along way in my area. I stay in because of the flexibility and I’m also a community based agent and I keep getting referrals, but it’s so draining working other agents and the occasional rude client. Not knowing my income each year is hard too, but I could handle that if the work more aligned with my values.
I’m great at what I do, and in all my reviews my clients note that I’m patient, caring, and organized. I like to think I’d like a remote job, but the reality is I’m good with people. I also want more stability. I’m also a creative person and good at planning. I didn’t complete my bachelors, but I have some schooling in sustainability, cultural resource management, and photography.
I looked into being a OTA. My therapist suggested travel nursing as I like flexibility, but I’m also good with people and patient.
I’m 37 and I’m worried I don’t have the time and money to do 4+ years of schooling, but open to it.
Any suggestions on other fields or job to consider?

Hi Everyone,
What are people thoughts on the following? Is it a known limitation? Is it something that Microsoft prioritising to fix?
We are starting to use GitHub Integration. We primarily use Power BI solution so TDML and Power BI Folders integration looks great. However, I started to play around with Pipeline and Notebook integrations and I puzzled by the inconsistent between GitHub Code and Web Service code.
This is especially the case for Notebooks. Notebooks are normally saved in IPYNB file format, but it appears that saved to GitHub as PY file format.
But what is also odd is the Download As feature in Web Service create a PY file that seems different to the file in GitHub.

Short rant. That’s it.
Slightly longer rant: Repeatedly, villains and Heroes have died and returned to life in comics. The methods vary. Some are more convoluted than others.
Clones. Lazarus Pits. Reality Warpers. Infinity Stones. Death rejects you. “Didn’t actually die”. Magic.
There’s countless variations of the above methods for resurrection. Not to mention countless methods for regaining lost limbs (Daredevil even regained his eye sight in a certain comic using Stark tech).
So what would Batman or Spider-Man killing their villains actually accomplish? They wouldn’t really save any additional innocent lives. Because these villains always return and will kill more innocents. (Oddly enough, the innocent victims rarely if ever get resurrected or revived).
If anything, refusing to kill helps preserve these characters moral purity and integrity. They can continue to fight as truly good men (in a non War setting as “soldiers”), without being corrupted by bearing the burden of murder.
Now you could argue, “if death is meaningless, why not kill villains anyway?”. If you start thinking this way, everything slowly starts to feel pointless. Why fight crime? It’s a fight that never ends. Why stop Joker, when innocents will die no matter what?
By artificially holding life as “sacred” no matter how irrational it might seem, actually helps maintain their mission in a world you’re always a finger snap away from coming back to life or dying.
You could pose another interesting question. “Why do comic Heroes accept tragic deaths and promote the IRL message of “we must move on”…when there’s always a legitimate method to revive loved ones?”.
My brief jab at an answer: There’s always risks involved with resurrection. Some methods may involve immoral means. Some individuals may want to finally be dead. This way of thinking is healthier overall.

Lately I’m a bit more aware of my internet usage and I was wondering if one could get his iPhone infected by the most common Instagram links (linktree and link.bio). So I ran a virus total:

And one of the checks turned out to be Malicious. Is this a false positive? Furthermore, as these links open in Instagram could it install malware on iPhones?
