My almost 15 y/o is thought to have bipolar disorder. Right now his official diagnosis is mood disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and ADHD. He sees a child psychiatrist, private therapist and a therapist through our local school. We have yet to find the right meds for him.
He is having a hard time st school with his anxiety. The doctor thinks he needs to be home schooled but our public school is small and they don’t offer home study this year.
What do I do?
He started the year in K-12 but couldn’t handle the work load. He can’t go back to K-12 in the middle of the semester.

If so what was it for and how did it turn out? I happen to have friends all across the states and out of the country. One of them lives in Florida and is inviting me to see his friend in Texas (I know him too). I'm trying to go by myself but my mom is not letting it happen. I can't go ANYWHERE by myself. Unless it's close by of course. Heck a 2 hour drive to Atlanta, I need to have someone with me. I'm really trying to convince her but she said I can only go if I bring my sister. My sister has met these friends before but only because she had to come with me to this convention last year. This trip is different though because it feels personal and I kind of like this friend who invited me. So I want to spend time with him as well. We're even spending the night at this house and my sister feels out of place if she came. My mom is worried something will happen to me. She doesn't trust my friends all that much. I get it because I'm a girl, 23 btw. And I know my way around airports now. My friends said they will look after me too.
So have any of you traveled to see someone in a long distance relationship? By yourselves. How would you feel in my situation?

Greetings brothers and sisters. I've been studying Mark's Gospel and Jesus really begins talking a lot about self-denial around his 3 predictions of his death and resurrection. (chapter 8-10) What strikes me is how much this is in contrast to the increasing attitude today of entitlement and even the prosperity gospel. A common refrain is that because Jesus suffered, we don't have to - and while that makes sense spiritually or theologically in the sense of atonement, it doesn't ring true practically and Jesus says as much.
He tells his apostles that they must deny themselves, take up their cross and follow him. Jesus isn't saying that we might suffer because of our faith. He makes it a condition. "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me" (Mark 8:34 NIV).

I stopped drinking for almost 4 months. I got the typical overconfidence that everyone seems to get... you know the "I have control over this now" nonsense. Did a 5 day bender on vacation, and it sucked.
The worst part is I subjected my girlfriend to this. Now she is being super careful around me, she's really scared for me. I'm getting over the regret and shame, but now I just see myself like a burden to her. I worry I'll always feel like this now.

2025.01.24 17:50 benconomics My Carv 2 review
 | I considered myself an advanced skier. I can ski powder pretty good, I ski steep terrain, I can do longer turns that I called carving. I ski 30-50 days a year the last 6 years since growing up as a recreational skier averaging 3-5 days in the 80s-90s. I bought Carv1 years ago. Quit using it because I didn't like the foot bed liners, too much work. Years of experience, and now skiing steeper terrain than I ever did before, I expected my carv2 scores to jump a bunch. And it did move up, to 126 ski IQ. I was frustrated. I tried skiing harder and more intense. Maybe up to 128, due to higher edge angle etc. Peaked at 132. So better than the average skier. But when I looked at my mid turn balance, early edging etc, there's ways I fell way short of the goals carv had for me in the app. Something was off in how I started turns. So this made me both revisit my skiing to build a better foundation. Looked at video of myself and while I'm skiing fast, I'm inclining a ton, with no angulation, and no surprise I'm skidding on my downhill ski. I'm really starting to understand c shape turns, and really feel the snow. Going back to basics instead of just skiing fast or harder. I discovered their recent video they put on youtube about balance, and low and behold this is really what I needed. I'm always trying to get forward more or in the turn with mostly my upper body, but really I need to move my balance between my front of my heel and my front. Scores jumped up for early forward movement and midturn balance. I'm really feeling differences and really trying to feel the skis with my feet up. Videos friends took of me helped too. So do the data instantly make you better? No. Chasing a higher ski IQ like a strava PR didn't actually help me much. But if I looked at them right, they exposed me to my imperfections. So I'm still chasing better turns, and exploring different sensations, and I like how the sensors really pick you moving your feet differently. No it doesn't do great at picking up moguls or powder sometimes. So if you're an intermediate borderline advanced skier who thinks your advanced, you might find it frustrating at first. Maybe even outright annoying. But this is because you have bad habits (me). The data don't lie. You become a better skier by developing better fundamentals, which can be hard you've ingrained bad habits (true for me). But I'm finding it useful along with a few lessons here in there at feeling more balance and get better turns. It can be really useful in helping you to target different turn mechanics, but for me watching videos and combining with the carv data are what has been most useful for me. I'm not trying to max angle chase any more though.
