2025.01.24 18:20 clintnorth Doom: The Dark Ages has changed glory kills… My thoughts
I personally extremely dislike the changes. I watched the presentation last night and every new “glory kill” wasn’t very glorious at all. It was just some generic kick or gun smash. The contextual glory kills are gone, and so is the unique animations that were so exciting to take down bad guys with!!
So boring. I really feel like they have done a disservice to the gameplay with that. I suspect that they just didn’t want to go through the effort of making multiple unique glory kill animations for every enemy, and now they are trying to sell that decision with marketing speak about how you can “do it from any angle” which I gotta say, I can’t really recall being a problem in either of the other two games. It just seemed like they removed a really cool and exciting part of the combat loop.
What are your guys thoughts?

Quick question here. I'm on Sertraline (rn it got reduced to 25mg a day so super small dose) and I heard there could be issues when consuming grapefruit.
I got some grapefruit flavoured electrolytes (SIS Hydro- pink grapefruit flavour, see photo) and was wondering if I could take them? The ingredient label says "natural flavouring" and idk if it would potentially create issues?

Continue whisking as the gravy simmers for about 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken. Remove from heat once it reaches the desired consistency.

I grew up with a sibling who was a guest on this show. I can’t help but think she chose this podcast due to the hosts inability to ask questions about clear discrepancies. It’s extremely triggering seeing her be the victim despite her constant reactive abuse tactics.
I have been no contact with her yet she still tries to blame me and make up lies about my life she knows nothing about. Including telling everyone I’m in an abusive relationship and being held captive.
Growing up she would tell me she’s reading psychology books to learn how to manipulate me and make me look like the crazy one. I was quiet and meek my whole life. When I stood up to her for the first time she got extremely violent with me. She thinks everyone around her is possessed and even got an exorcism for her toddler.
What’s even worse is those in the comments encouraging her. My family enabling her abuse my whole life was bad enough. It was hard enough to go no contact solely due to the fact her kids would be on their own. Now I have to open my social media and see her pop up. How don’t people see she clearly needs mental help. Ugh.

Hey people ^^ In the latest days I've developed this tool to help me with my research with Gaussian Splatting:

It's a Python library, a PyTorch extension, that lets you visualize an Image or a Gaussian Splatting scene in real-time.
With this you can bind, for example, a (classical) Gaussian Splatting scene (or resp. an Image) to the renderer. Then start the visualization window, and from the main Python thread, train at full speed and real-time visualize the gaussians being optimized.
Why? The problem I've faced with any existing method for visualizing images or a Gaussian Splatting scene was that it required to have the data on host memory first. However, when working with PyTorch, it's common to have the data residing on CUDA memory, and downloading it to host hinders real-time visualization.
There was another issue, I wanted to change the data being visualized from Python. The concrete problem was that I wanted to see the gaussians being optimized. So how would you achieve that in Python? You could start another thread for visualizaiton (while true) but that will concur with the main thread for execution because of the GIL lock. You could start another Python process and then pass the rendering data to the main thread using some slow Inter Process Communication method (e.g. sockets, what INRIA is doing).
The solution is to handle the visualization thread in native code (e.g. C++), so that it doesn't interfere with the GIL lock and rendering data can be directly read from CUDA memory (I'm using CUDA-OpenGL interop).
