I grew up with a sibling who was a guest on this show. I canât help but think she chose this podcast due to the hosts inability to ask questions about clear discrepancies. Itâs extremely triggering seeing her be the victim despite her constant reactive abuse tactics.
I have been no contact with her yet she still tries to blame me and make up lies about my life she knows nothing about. Including telling everyone Iâm in an abusive relationship and being held captive.
Growing up she would tell me sheâs reading psychology books to learn how to manipulate me and make me look like the crazy one. I was quiet and meek my whole life. When I stood up to her for the first time she got extremely violent with me. She thinks everyone around her is possessed and even got an exorcism for her toddler.
Whatâs even worse is those in the comments encouraging her. My family enabling her abuse my whole life was bad enough. It was hard enough to go no contact solely due to the fact her kids would be on their own. Now I have to open my social media and see her pop up. How donât people see she clearly needs mental help. Ugh.

Hey people ^^ In the latest days I've developed this tool to help me with my research with Gaussian Splatting:

It's a Python library, a PyTorch extension, that lets you visualize an Image or a Gaussian Splatting scene in real-time.
With this you can bind, for example, a (classical) Gaussian Splatting scene (or resp. an Image) to the renderer. Then start the visualization window, and from the main Python thread, train at full speed and real-time visualize the gaussians being optimized.
Why? The problem I've faced with any existing method for visualizing images or a Gaussian Splatting scene was that it required to have the data on host memory first. However, when working with PyTorch, it's common to have the data residing on CUDA memory, and downloading it to host hinders real-time visualization.
There was another issue, I wanted to change the data being visualized from Python. The concrete problem was that I wanted to see the gaussians being optimized. So how would you achieve that in Python? You could start another thread for visualizaiton (while true) but that will concur with the main thread for execution because of the GIL lock. You could start another Python process and then pass the rendering data to the main thread using some slow Inter Process Communication method (e.g. sockets, what INRIA is doing).
The solution is to handle the visualization thread in native code (e.g. C++), so that it doesn't interfere with the GIL lock and rendering data can be directly read from CUDA memory (I'm using CUDA-OpenGL interop).

My new client is a New Orleans based blues/pop/funk/soul band with residencies already in place on both Bourbon and Frenchmen Street. I've been tasked with managing the operation and growth of their social media accounts which only currently span FB and Insta. The goals of the band is to expand their viewership/following to markets outside of NOLA for touring opportunities.
The easy part of managing their social media is that they already have shareable assets: logos, music, video, and a calendar of gigs already lined up for the foreseeable future. This is my first music industry client and my experience is in corporate retail (beauty brands).
Would you still use a service like Canva? Or, are there better content creation/SMM tools out there for a client like this?

(English isn't my first language so I apologize if I make mistakes)
I will turn 19 soon and start university. I want to get 2 degrees, one in criminology or sociology and the other in mathematics or computer science (i'm still looking at options, if you have suggestions please share)
I want to get a job that will allow me to find work reliably for the next years but I worry about AI. A few years ago i was planning on becoming a software engineer but I have no idea now. I feel like it's easy to automate.
Right now I'm thinking about jobs that involve an element of privacy or trust or emotions, if that makes sense. My thoughts so far:
- wedding/family photographer. I feel like most people would instictively dislike the idea of their special moments being "fake", ai generated and so on. Like how we were able to make perfect lab diamonds but people still want to pay 10 times more for the real ones. People take pictures because they want to remember a real moment in time. It being real is important. I'm good with editing software and have good artistic sense, people have commented in the past that they love how I photograph them and manage to make them look good somehow.
- photographer but more photojournalist might work too? Again, if the world becomes oversaturated with ai generated images you want to be able to tell what's real and what's not. Document things. If you see a picture of an event on my social media page, with my name attached, and you know i'm a real person, and you trust me to not use AI or lie because i've built a reputation, that's an useful thing right? Then again, maybe people just won't give a shit.
- digital forensic analyst. i feel like studying computer science + criminology i would be competent and i feel like when it comes to the law people would want a real human to handle things. humans can be held accountable, can be trusted or not.
- penetration testing. idk. ai can probably do most of it but then again i feel like it's one of those things where you want to know a real human is working with you and is absolutely not hallucinating bullshit. in some cases it might involve physically showing up somewhere and i dont think humanoid robots will be that realistic yet lmao.
- nail technician. again, you'd need humanoid robots to do it and i feel like even if they do invent them they'd worry about cleaning, farming, doctors before they get to something like doing nails. i do my own and am good at it. i could generally do jobs that involve beauty, like a hairdresser or makeup artist etc.
i don't need to make much money as the cost of living in my country isn't very high. i could survive on 1000 euros a month happily, if strictly paying for necessities then even less. ideally i'd make more of course, but it's whatever.
