I want to invite more than 4 people to the MIT graduation, but I know each person is limited to 4 tickets. However, in previous years I've seen people giving out or selling tickets via dormspam. Does anyone know if it's generally easy or hard to get extra graduation tickets for the oneMIT/undergrad degree ceremonies? Any advice/info on this would be really helpful. Thanks!

Similar attempts at recreating FFXI as a single player offline RPG have already been attempted using existing engines like Unity and Unreal, but neither of these engines uses the same rendering techniques that are used in FFXI’s official engine, and so the zones always required extensive modifying, which was incredibly time consuming, but even then the zones never looked quite right. Plus the sheer number of zones meant that only a small handful ever got converted over. While this has certainly produced some impressive fan projects, it has not produced a playable game, which I have come to believe is because using Unity or Unreal kind of compels the modder to focus most of their time and attention on the art and 3D modeling aspects of development, rather than the code for functional gameplay. And since there is a snowball’s chance in hell of SE ever releasing their own official engine and tools to the general public, the only other viable option is to reverse engineer the game and build our own custom engine from scratch using C++ and OpenGL (using DirectX would limit the engine to Windows machines, and Vulkan is too fucking difficult).
The goal is to first build a functional model viewer, and then continue to build gameplay systems on top of that until we have essentially recreated all of the major gameplay systems in the game, thus making FFXI Offline a reality. Because this new custom engine would be able to read the official unaltered DAT files directly, no time would need to be wasted on ripping and reassembling game assets, as is necessary for fan projects built in Unity and Unreal. Also, it would also mean that every zone in the game would be accessible without having to manually recreate and rebuild each one. (this is basically just me raving about the game) Ok so basically, I downloaded the game at ots peak but deleted it pretty quick cuz I kept getting the casual day 5 bad ending and got frustrated 😭 I was pretty young and stupid and wasn't really that phone addicted. Now I just restarted the game a few days and am using a chat room guide and also basic instructions from the internet to play, and it's so good!! I started with Zen's route and I plan to get all his endings and then get all pf Yoosung's and then Jaehee's before moving on to Deep Story (i really wanna do seven's route but i have this weird thing of doing a game in a proper order). I'm so happy i picked it up again!! What about you guys? Whats your story with the game?

So for 16 episodes we were led to believe (by both of them) Bronwyn & Lisa were besties, going on double dates and hanging out. Now all of a sudden they’re just acquaintances and not that close? They’re such great friends yet they’ve never discussed Gwen’s dad?
Lisa & Brownyn both have a tendency to lie and manipulate. After seeing part 1 of the reunion and their social media posts I believe both of them are lying about different parts of the story.
Lisa, Brownyn & Britni come from influential Mormon families with high up roles. The church gossip is a different level and BYU is a small school where everyone knows everyone. It wouldn’t have been that much of a secret who Bronwyn was hanging out with.
What motive does Lisa have to lie about what she was told? She should’ve just said “They told me this. I’m sorry if this hurt Gwen” She didn’t like Bronwyn but she also has to keep the church elders pleased so she continued trying to place the blame on Bronwyn for Gwen not having a relationship with them.
Bronwyn has been caught in so many lies and is willing to do anything to be iconic (yet she got third chair over Mary sit in a sprinter van Cosby lmao). She lied about buying the necklace and Todd cheating and continued to spin the stories in her favour.
Bronwyn waited until there were producers in the room to bring up the paternity story so they’d push Lisa to dig for more and she could paint Lisa as the villain. We all know she watches and focuses on social media and she knew she’d need to push out the fan villain to be queen bee.
Both of them are calculating and will do whatever to be queen bee. The only thing is Lisa truly doesn’t care which is what makes her so desirable to the other women. Bronwyn and her little IG rants trying to control the narrative are just tiring. Heather was right that Bronwyn is like a politician.
I don’t believe Lisa brought it up to be malicious but was more then happy to use it as a storyline for drama but I do believe bronwyn made sure this storyline would see the light of day.

Hi guys,
Having fudged along for a while using a phone for video (Motioncam Pro app, it's amazing but phone sensors just fall to bits in low-light) the time has come to get a proper video camera. After all, I do photography with Nikon gear and not a phone, so I need to match my video game to my photography game!
Will mainly be shooting in nightclubs/festivals, often in incredibly low light.
Decided that the FX3 is basically the best option by a mile due to the fact I'm mainly shooting indoors in clubs with very low-light and I need that noise performance, not to mention the million other things that make it a stand out choice and a good investment. Applied for a full time videography job for a major Ibiza club brand (which I can't actually do, I was just curious) and under the "what camera do you use?" tab there was literally two options - FX3 or A7Siii, and you had to choose one. Which I think says it all!
Obviously a 24-70 is your best workhorse, and I'm kind of covered on wide angle anyway as I have a Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 for photography. I know it won't autofocus with a cheap adapter (though a £200 one does exist which apparently allows AF) but that's fine as wide open in a club or festival you're basically locked at infinity anyway when shooting that wide.
But I'm wondering which of these is my best option in the 24-70mm range. Ideally I want the lowest cost, but don't want anything that's going to be a serious limitation.
So -
Sony FE 24-70mm f2.8 G Master II - Obviously "the daddy" and no compromises, but at £1900 I'd rather avoid it if at all possible.
Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN II Art - I don't really see much if any difference in reviews of this compared to the G Master, so it would be my go-to choice if cost was no issue. It is still £1,180, but that's a damn sight cheaper than the Sony.
Samyang AF 24-70mm f2.8 - I highly rate Samyang having used a few of their primes before. At £825 it's a great price, and as far as I can make out has all the same features like weather-sealing (important for festivals!) and the like.
Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 DG DN Contemporary - I'm honestly a bit confused as to how much different this is from the Art lens. It's certainly much cheaper at £780. Some videos I've seen suggest it is identical looking in terms of image quality unless you're getting really picky and pixel-peeping or putting it through intensive tests. It is also smaller and lighter, great for travelling. However, I can't work out if it has weather sealing (some websites suggest it does, but it isn't great) and you do lose 4mm of focal length at the wide end, which feels like Sigma being deliberately obtuse and punishing you for buying the cheaper lens, though I know that it's because of less elements needed. 4mm doesn't seem like much but is prime territory for thinking "fuck, I wish I'd got the wider one" all the time in cramped DJ booths.
Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III VXD G2 - Best price I can find for a new 24-70 at just £650. It's small and light, again a bonus, and from what I can find it has good weather sealing, better than the Sigma contemporary. But again, while they give you a nice little extra 5mm on the tight end, you are still losing that 4mm on the wide end. But for £650....
I'm also open to any second hand suggestions, provided they're in the UK and it's a reputable place (London Camera Exchange, who have stores all over the UK) often get some great second hand bargains in.

2025.01.24 18:30 MagicCarpetofSteel Lenovo Thinkpad P51 Type 20 HJ. What's the general type of compatible SSD that I should shop for? Is it M.2/M.2 2280? Also, one of the USB slots was installed to keep and I made it worse, is there any way to fix *that*?
Title, essentially? Looking on Lenovo's website isn't very helpful--they say that they're out of stock for all the different kinds of memory that's compatible with it, which isn't that surprising, since they don't make or support this model anymore.
Looking at the aforementioned parts list on Lenovo's website, I think what I'm looking for is an "M.2 2280"?
It says "Commodity: M.2 Card" and under specs it says "Form Factor: M.2 2280"
Is that correct?
As for the second half, it's always been deeper than it was supposed to be, but it recently stopped working, (I think because I had my mouse dongle in it and put it in my backpack that side down without thinking like a dope. Repeatedly.) Do any of y'all know if it's possible to take the USB slots out so I could replace the one, or try and pull it out/readjust it? I got as far as removing my keyboard last night, but I didn't see any obvious way to remove the USB slots.
