The Seed of The Sacred Fig happens around the same time during the 2022-2023 the protests of Iran as a result of a death of a 22-year-old woman Mahsa Amini under suspicious conditions. While the incident that occurred is real and the aftermath violent, this movie tells a fictional story in the backdrop of those protests.
Iman works for the Iranian government as an investigator in one of Iran's many revolutionary courts where they sentence those who revolt against the government, commit blasphemy et al. The government provides him a gun for his self-defense as these investigators are a target for revolutionaries. One day his gun goes missing and send Iman into a psychotic meltdown that affects his wife and two daughters.
Writer, director Mohammad Rasoulof's screenplay draws you in on the current situation in Iran and Iman's family almost immediately the moment you are introduced to the characters. A god fearing, ambitious father, a god-fearing traditional mother who takes her husband's word to gospel and two rebellious daughters who are influenced by the modern values they learned via social media. We see elaborate discussions among the girls about how the government is oppressing its own citizens, discussions between Iman and his wife Najmeh about how they should respect God and the laws of God, about faith and about brainwashing and a lot of otehr things. While the events happening in real are about women being oppressed by a male dominant society and even killing people for not wearing the hijab, we see a similar dynamic in Iman's household as well but rather in a subtle manner.
The characters grow on you, and you get to notice their beautiful transformation thanks to brilliant acting by all the actors involved. You feel their pain, their conflict and motivation without missing a beat. The fear the family goes through in the final act was palpable and it offers a fitting ending that is in line with what really happened during those protests.
The Seed of The Sacred Fig is a poetic retelling of the Iranian protests.

I have a very specific question that I cannot find an answer to so I am hoping someone can help! My son just is working on short trips converting from a 5 point harness to high back booster. He is 6.5, 4 ft tall, 55 lbs. He is in a Britax Grow with you clicktight plus. I drive a 24 Subaru Ascent. Now here comes the issue. I have the seat installed with the LATCH anchors so that when he's not in it its secured- as in the instruction manual. But my dang car then thinks there is a passenger who is not buckling their seatbelt. What can I do? He is never going to remember to rebuckle the seatbelt when he gets out and that seems ridiculous!

2025.01.24 18:30 chaaaaaaaarlie Insta360 X3 turning on and recording on its own.
A couple months ago my X3 started turning on and off, and recording without touching it.
I would leave it turned off, fully charged and when I went to use it the next day, the battery was flat and had several short recordings saved.
It hasn't been submerged in water. The worst it's seen is rain. I've tried formatting the SD card, factory reset, installed latest updates/firmware etc but nothing worked. It's about 18 months old and has been pretty well looked after. No drops, barely a scratch on it etc.
I left it for a while and tried it again last week, somehow it managed to have "fixed" itself... For a few days at least. It's now still turning itself on and off, and sometimes when it's turned on, it will scroll through the menus uncontrollably and then crash and refuse to turn on until the charger is plugged in.
Absolutely gutted as I use this as a dash cam for my motorbike and was planning on taking it on an upcoming snowboarding trip. It's a very expensive bit of kit to break for no reason after barely a year and a half.
Anyone else have these issues? Can't seem to find any advice beyond resetting/updating and don't really want to spend £££ sending it back to Hong Kong.

So I need a little help. I have played ranked on the daily free ticket now for a few weeks, and I am happy when I win 4 to get a crate. I cannot seem to get past that though. Everyone I go up against seems to have god rolls on the items they get once I hit about day 6.
