2025.01.24 20:41 Ok-Razzmatazz-7434 2nd car - Used or PHEV NL?
Family of 3 with household income of $200K + Super. Got a 2nd hand Volvo XC90 as our only family car. Fully-paid. Now that I’m in a job that requires me to be onsite 4x a week, a 2nd car is a must especially we live in the suburbs with no public transport option. On this, we both agree on.
Partner is keen on getting a brand new PHEV to serve as our main car esp as the Volvo is showing signs of it wearing out. While I am strongly considering just getting a used car with a budget of $5k to $7k max. However, the quality that we are seeing in the market without warranty worries my partner quite a bit and we might be missing out when the holistic strategy of PHEV is scrutinised.
Reason why partner is keen on PHEV are the following: 1. Tax benefits expiring on 30Mar. 2. Opportunity to save on petrol even with running two cars. 3. Save on everyday running cost with full EV mode.
Note that Novated Lease is on top of the practicality of PHEV that I pointed out: 1. No downpayments 2. All pre-tax 3. Any money unspent on our car's running cost will be returned by end of lease period. 4. Options to extend or buy then sell for a profit is available at end of lease term.
I am still apprehensive though given the balloon payment we have to worry about after the lease term.
Anyone who has been in the same boat? What did you end up doing?
We are not paying any loans. No debts as well. Still renting due to our visa status, but long term we do plan to purchase a house. Maybe in 3 years’ time. No plans to have another child as well.

This wasnt a problem a while ago but now whenever i stream, i can no longer just go to my videos section and see my vod because it's unpublished. Even if i go into the contents tab, clicking publish on the vod while I'm still streaming does nothing. My vods are saved and unpublished after i end but i would like to review stuff during the stream. Did i miss a change?

Hi! Can someone explain double swaddling to me? 😅
First time Mom trying to get all the things ready for baby boy coming in March! We live in the south, so not expecting a cold climate, but we do keep our house cold (68) at night with fans on. I had planned to put him in a zippered or magnetic footie for bedtime, but am wondering if I also need a second swaddle?
Other than warmth, does a second swaddle also help with putting them down into the snoo? I’ve seen some people keep the snoo sack snapped into place to make things easier.
I would love any and all brand recommendations for a compatible second swaddle! Thanks so much!

Hi everyone,
I’m looking to upgrade my Honeywell T6 thermostat to a Nest (Gen3) and need some help figuring out where a couple of wires go.
We have a zoned HVAC system with an HZ311 panel and I’m trying to figure out where the black wire should be connected on the Nest thermostat. In the HZ311 panel, the black wire is currently attached to a damper.
Also, there’s a brown wire that I’m unsure about. Does anyone know where this should be connected on the Nest as well?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
