I am so close to rage quitting. But alas, I have bills to pay and cannot. I’m a 56 yo single female and I need this job and am not sure I’d be able to replace the income if I quit without notice. I work for a school district as the database manager. I have two people that report to me. I took the place of a man who retired las spring. He had been there for 11 years and was loved and respected by all. He had over 20 years of experience working as a db manager for school districts. I had no experience working in a school district prior to my being hired. I am positive my team, plus a few others in the “clique” are trying to get me to quit. I cry just about every work day, either on the way there, the way home or in the bathroom. I’ve never experienced anything like it. I have many friends from former jobs and have always gotten along with co-workers. We these ladies, and I use the term very loosely, nothing works. Everything I do is wrong in their eyes. I am constantly compared to their former boss. Granted, I have a lot to learn and I am only halfway through the school year. I am surrounded by these three in regard to our office locations. I call them the Bermuda Triangle. They are constantly gossiping and whispering about me. I can hear them! They are never kind and always exclude me from any and all conversations. They go directly to my boss, jumping rank to complain about me. I’ve tried killing them with kindness, ignoring them and keeping my head down, trying to joke around with them, everything I can muster. I’m at my wits end and I don’t know what to do. They have ruined my reputation with the technology team and further out to the district. Please help. I literally think I’m going into a deep depression. I come home from work and go directly to bed most days. This is not good for my mental or physical health. What should I do? What would you do?

So my parents are pretty strict on me all my teenage years and I recently turned 18 so it's been all good I guess but pretty much I wasn't allowed to get a job or anything teenagery like l'm just very isolated besides phone calls. My parents argue and yell a lot like scream and I just so sick of living in a controlled environment and a hostile environment where I feel scared something physical might take place and get caught in the mess. They also threaten to put cameras inside the house and I have probable cause that they already have. I'm very unhappy with my life and I've already asked them if I could live with my grandparents in a different state, saying I could pay for everything they would only have to take me and they said no, like I said, they want total control over my actions already being 18. They want to control what college I go to and I was thinking about doing an accelerated bachelors program online to finish school quickly so I can get out be they said I can't leave within 2 years of college and possibly get a remote job to do online if push comes to shove and I will be forced to leave. I already plan to leave before college but they want me to stay there and go to the local university 30 minutes away but I don't want that control they had over me in college since it traumatized my middle school and high school years and wouldn't want it to happen in a time period where I would discover who I really am independently. Anybody got any advice on what to do? Has anybody done something like this before, if so, how did it work out?

Ever since Covid it seems like one monumental once in a life time event after another. If it’s not a global pandemic, it’s the starting off point to WW3 or it’s some fucking world leader wanting to be dictator and treat the world like it’s a game of civilization and seemingly domination seems to be the preferred victory method. It’s all just so exhausting and there never seems to be a glimmer of hope. The world is getting shittier by the second. The cost of living in most places is astronomical, global warming is out of control and nuclear war seems more of a likely outcome at this point than anytime other than the 60’s. I have no bright outlook for the future and can’t even think of a realistic way that it can even be fixed.
In the immortal words of John Coffey in The Green Mile… I’m tired boss.
