I'm gonna be honest. I've been kept in the dark for alot of what's being going on with my mum during all of this. What i will say is she got very ill at the start of December and it kind of went on from there. She was in and out of hospital with pain in her stomach. I tried to think positive and told my mum maybe it's a benign tumour or a very big cyst because at the time she was so scared and upset. But now it seems she's accepted it. I still don't know the stage because for whatever reason they haven't said but i was in too much of a mess at the hospital speaking to the doctor to even ask. But surely it has to be stage 4, they've definitely said it's cancer but it's just all so strange to me. Basically my mum has been in hospital for 2 weeks now and her partner has been with her but i think even before she got admitted they both knew it was cancer and didn't bother to tell me, i can understand my mum not telling me because she knew it would upset me and probably send me over the edge since i already have mental health issues and she's all i have left. But today i went to the hospital to visit and the doctor took me aside and said the cancer started in the kidneys and spread to her lungs and it's at a point that her body is too weak to take on any cancer treatment, she also said my mum was booked in for a biopsy on Monday but it seems my mum has said no to this since she's already in too much pain and just wants to go home. I just find it strange that they say she is booked in for a biopsy and yet they are saying the treatment would hurt her body too much to even try. But also after seeing the state my mum is in today.. i can see why she just wants to go home. She said to me a few weeks before she even went into hospital she doesn't want to die in hospital but i thought she was just being over dramatic at the time, i told her that wasn't going to happen. But seems she has optioned for being at home without treatment (i think?), i know they put her on some antibiotics and painkillers, i'm not 100% how it all works but she will be at home comfortable and pass when her body decides i guess. The doctor said they cannot estimate a time but one of the palliative care team guys said it probably won't be long now. I'm so heartbroken. To think my mum won't be here to see me get married and have my own children.. it hurts on a whole other level. I lost my dad when i was 14 and now i'm about to lose my mum, no parents left before i even turn 30. I'm 27 right now and i feel so lost. I haven't been into work the past week because i wanted to be there for my mum but at this point i don't even feel like i can go back. My mental health was already so bad before all of this happened with my mum and now all of this gets thrown on me. I am losing the will to live if i'm being honest and it doesn't help that my mum told me today to live for us both. Makes me even more upset because she should be here experiencing of all of this with me. Fuck cancer.

I had a line created with my mobile number, but I lost access when my cell phone restarted from manufacture. after that, I no longer got access to my account. I use the line for work, because some people from Indonesia use it as a sales group and etc. I ended up making a new account, with my email linked to Gmail. and it stopped working, all the photos I received did not open. I decided to uninstall and install again and now I cannot log into my account. they blocked me, no. I can't even create a new account because I'm blocked. I made a new account on the iPad and tried to link to the phone but I'm blocked until that. someone has a similar problem? managed to solve? worst messaging app that exists. really, I only use it because it's necessary.

Recently, I've realized that my mouth movements look highly unsymmetrical. It's not so much the size of my mouth/lips or teeth, more so it's because I don't have as much 'access' to the muscles in the right side of my face as opposed to the left.
Does anyone know how to resolve this through mouth/cheek/jaw exercises? I think it's a myofunctional issue, maybe I would be better off seeing an orthodontist? I do have what's called a 'posterior open bite' so I imagine fixing that could help.
It's started to annoy me because when I'm genuinely smiling or laughing at something, it instead looks like I have a sarcastic smirk on my face. It's caused a lot of confusion and I think it tends to trick people into misreading me.

Love how my (now former, changing once again!) boss refers to exactly what I described above as “direct time.” We don’t have enough behavior therapists and haven’t since 2021, and I am one of the staff that has been made to cover since then. I was hired for CONSULT where I go observe students while they work with their behavior therapists. Being the staff responsible for a student with special needs for hours at a time is NOT direct slp therapy. I’m talking I have to take them to the bathroom. Most need assistance. And ik that’s against our license but if I don’t do it, who will?! If they have lunch or recess or community I’ve done that too. I’ve literally driven kids in my own car to fucking Target. These people literally believe their own lies and will gaslight you. I think I’ve finally had enough especially after today.
But I’m also really starting to feel like there’s nowhere good to work in this field, especially these days post-covid. Please give me hope lol

2025.01.25 00:59 Chhonk Trying to access old ableton project files from a Windows harddrive on a Mac
Heyo,
I finally got the kit required to access the 1tb harddrive from my old laptop that fried out (motherboard issues from overheating) 4 years ago. I'm trying to access the Ableton projects I'd created on it but the only .Als files I can find are all in the recycling bin, which I think is something ableton does when new saves are made of a project while its open. Otherwise the project folders and .Als files can't be found.
Since I'm trying to access these through a mac I figure there are additional complications going on here but I can't find any advice out there on how I would search through this stuff on this device. Hope someone can advise here, and that the question is appropriate for the subreddit, I know it's quite niche.

okay so basically whenever i click on my sim or any other sim theres a delay thats about 7 seconds. its really annoying and i cant play properly, i know that its because of mods, actually its mostly the mods that give you a lot of interactions such as lumpinou mods or sacrificial mods. i know that this is a common issue and i have seen some of possible fixes, such as removing all of your mods etc, but does anyone have a solution how to stop it from lagging without removing my mods? thank you!
