In asking this question, I’m wondering if you’ve ever met any famous people more organically - as in not at a celebrity event/red carpet type of situation? Like, out on the street!
I’ll go first:
- Lisa Loeb (1995-ish). I ran into her at a record shop in my hometown when she was on tour after Stay was on the Reality Bites soundtrack. She was by herself, shopping, and I was like, “Are you Lisa Loeb??” She was very nice and down-to-earth.
- Silverchair (Feb 1997). My best friend in high school and I met the whole band on the street in Detroit. We were there to see them (utterly obsessed!) and we arrived so early at the venue that when their tour buses pulled up, and they walked out from behind them, we nearly fainted. We talked to them briefly and then proceeded to freak out! It’s was awesome.
- Colin Farrell (2008). I walked by him in the Dublin airport.
- Patrick Dempsey (2011). He walked by me on the street in Montréal. I was completely obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy at the time so this was a big deal.
- Stuart Townsend (2012). He was sitting right next to me at the bar at Grillmarkaðurinn in Reykjavík. I was like, “I know you from somewhere.” He just smiled coyly. Later, after I had left the restaurant and walking back to my hotel, I yelled, “OMG! Stuart Townsend!” Honestly, I was less excited about him but rather I was sitting next to the ex of Charlize Theron. Lol.
- Gord Downie (2013-ish). I saw him in the audience at The Hoxton in Toronto at A Tribe Called Red show. I chickened out when I went to try and say hello. I don’t know, I didn’t want to bother him. As a Canadian, I regret it now.

Briefly going down a Sierra music rabbit-hole, I saw that Ken Allen once had a kickstarter to re-produce a bunch of tracks from the earlier games. It appeared to have stalled due to multiple factors, but I wondered that since I can't really find much of a reference to it post-2016, does anyone know if the there was any update to this?
Moreover, apart from Siebert's "Sierra Soundtrack Collection" (and Phatasmagoria 2 tracks), has there been any other unofficial-official Sierra game music releases?
I'm well aware of the myriad of YouTube videos and sites that offer MT32, CM64L or GM versions of the original game music, but I'm referring more to re-produced tracks.

Hello all,
Recently posted that my net pay was much lower than expected for 60k/year. Turns out the company's accountant made several mistakes and I was underpaid. Got an extra payment today. Thanks all for your support on this!
Now, double checked various websites/salary calculators and they state that the average net pay on 60k is around $3,400-3,500 net a month after taxes in Ontario.
Unfortunately, my employer is adamant that 60k is only $3,000 a month and refuses to consider pay calculators. I completely understand as salaries vary based deductions and other factors.
Is there an official way to check if I'm being paid correctly? Should I hire my own accountant to check my pay? I don't trust my employer anymore.
My current status:
Salary:60k (as agreed in my employment contract)
Pay period: Semi-monthly
Deductions: Only CPP, EI and Federal Income Tax. No benefits or insurance.
Avg. net pay: $3,100 a month total

Hello! So we are looking to sell my childhood home and we’ve met with an agent. For background the house is in a rural area about 10-12 minutes from the nearest town/city, not many houses in the area go up for sale ever. We got comps for other properties recently sold but the square footage was all about 1/3 lower than our home. Based on this the median/average price seemed way too low. We aren’t listing it right at this moment but even when the time comes if there’s no other comparable properties would it be unrealistic to take the average price per sq ft, multiply it by our sq ft and set that as the asking price? How much of an issue would this be in the appraisal stage?

2025.01.25 01:21 Pepe_Gemelle New build powers on but no display
Now before we get any further. I can power it up, cpu fan spins, all other fans spin and light up. Post light on motherboard goes green. My monitor is powered on but it never recognizes the input. The Graphics card i know is in and has power because the fans spin up. What's weird about this is I will shut the whole thing down with the switch on the power supply and then turn it back on and it will boot and the display will work. I can also do a reboot after I get the screen to work and it will still work. I have also powered down the whole unit and unplugged it and held the power button to clear out any power in the system and boot it up and it will work. I've reset my RAM and they are slotted in parallel. But at this point I'm stumped on what else I should look at. I've triple checked all the connections and now I'm convinced it's something in either the BIOS or a power management settings. Specs are listed below: Asus B650 wifi gaming Ryzen 9 9900x Msi Nvidia 4070 super traffics card 64gb ram 4x16gb sticks Pcu is a corsair 850x Whole thing is running windows 11 pro. Don't know if it's a bad install or what. Any advice for solving this would be greatly appreciated.

2025.01.25 01:21 Vast-Ice321 Extraction really does work guys
after trying ever home made method and even cyro. Nothing did the job like extraction. All I use was a sharp sewing needle and tweezers. Wiping each bloody zit with a rubbing alcohol cotton ball soak.
Not even a day later now and it is all gone. I don’t see any white dots and just some small scaring from the extraction. (Small red dots). My mental health is already so much better.
I used zinc cream and some pimple patches afterward and it’s all gone now. Crazy. Just a couple small but barley noticeable bumps on the bottom of my weiner. Didn’t want to extract those I’ll let those go away naturally and they’re already starting to fade.
