2025.01.25 01:22 Historical-Tell3243 AIO by being upset that I got suspended for vaping?
I (16M) am a junior (11th grade) in an American high school. I am in a digital media class where we learn about graphic design-esque programs like Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and sometimes artificial intelligence, the last of which I personally hate when it comes to this type of thing, but that has nothing to do with this.
I carry a USB with me. I carry it in my jacket pockets so it's always on me. I used to have a lanyard but it snapped and broke, so I don't carry it on anything anymore. It was our individual learning period, essentially a glorified study hall. Nobody had asked for me, I had all of my work turned in, so I decided to work with some of my Illustrator work.
Today, our regular teacher wasn't present, we had a substitute teacher, Mr. Baker. Mr. Baker is a traditional old man. He has no idea how technology works. He can't even log into a computer. Instead of taking attendance as usual, he forces students to go down to the office to give a physical report, which he often gets wrong with students he doesn't know.
I had my learning period for around the next hour so I decided I'd work on one of my personal projects. I took out my flash drive and held in front of my head. It is the kind that retracts and extends with a switch. I can't feel it physically very well, so I had to look for it. I couldn't see it from a few feet away because the lights were off. The USB did not touch my mouth, and was no less than 6 inches away from my face.
When Mr. Baker saw me looking for the switch, I guess he assumed it was a vape. He took it from my hands, and sent me to the office. I tried to ask him why, but he told me that I'd "figure it out once I get down there."
I had to wait for a few minutes, as both the principal and vice principal weren't present at the time. The principal, Mr. Howard, eventually arrived and had no idea why I was there. I'm a straight-A kid who never gets in trouble. I finally got the chance to explain that I had no idea what I did.
Mr. Howard believed me, but called Mr. Baker to verify. From what I heard, Mr. Baker said I took out a vape and started puffing it in school. After he finished the call, we basically went over this. He asked if I had brought a vape in, and I said no. I was starting to catch what was happening, so I added that I did bring in a USB. Mr. Howard understood and sent me back.
I got back to the classroom and asked for my USB back. When I did this, I was sent back down again. I got back and Mr. Howard was in the middle of a call with who I can only assume was Mr. Baker. Mr. Howard hung up shortly after and told me that he knew what was going on, and that he knew I was in the right. He stepped out and came back with the USB in hand a few minutes later.
Mr. Howard asked if it was fine to plug in the USB to his computer. I said yes, and he did. He verified that it was a USB and none of it's contents were inappropriate. He did find my illegally obtained ROMs and Music, but he basically he said he doesn't care. I don't know if that's breaking some kind of law, but I don't really care.
Mr. Howard said Mr. Baker was basically insisting I be punished. I'm not surprised at this at all. Mr. Baker is the type of person who is important enough to have everyone bowing to his feet so that everything goes his way, and he exploits this power among the faculty to get basically whatever he wants.
I was told I would be getting sent home and a two-day suspension for a technology violation. Technology violations are a blanket term in my district for anything electronic. I think this would include vapes but I think they have separate procedure. I was also excused of all work I would be missing in the meantime.
I don't know how to feel about this whole situation. I'm happy I get two work-free days off, but at the same time I'm very upset. I'm an ace student, a prodigy, but with this mark on my record, I just look like some delinquent peice of trash.
I'm a bit peeved with Mr. Howard, as he should have a spine for this type of thing. A miscommunication should be clearly worked out and fixed. I shouldn't have to suffer because a teacher won't take no for an answer when it comes to punishing an innocent student, because they act like they're the king of the school.
TLDR: I took my USB out, bitchy old man thought it was a vape, sent me to the office, principal understood but I got suspended anyways.

2025.01.25 01:21 I-Samuel I need some help with dealing with a virus
So, i dont know if this is the correct subreddit for this, or if there is a better subreddit for this. But recently i have been dealing with attacks over all of my diffrent accounts. I first noticed it when my Instagram got hacked, where the email was changed without my permission, where they then deleted it. They also hacked my steam, tried to get into my microsoft (they couldnt somehow) and now i have noticed that they got into my epic games account. There would normally be no problem, because i got 2 step verification (the thing where it sends to ur email) on all of these (besides my instagram, which was probably stupid). But it seems to have bypassed those and gone straight into the account. I have Scanned both my laptop and my PC and the antivirus didnt find anything, but im really beginning to doubt that now. Is there anyone here who could help me, or could lead me to a subreddit where i can get some help?
