 | I’m at a loss here. Recently a new shower was installed because the previous one was leaking (white square unit, pretty standard stuff). I will be venting a bit in this post. I have been single for about 8 years. I'm 30 years old. So I tried to meet a women through many different dating apps, friends of friends, skateparks, beaches, gyms, social groups, bars and clubs, social media and missed connections on a local website. I'm healthy and a great person with an uplifting positive personality. I changed my style and updated my dating profile many times to see if that was the problem. I even tried to match people in different areas of the city I live in. I paid for the dating app to see who liked me and that didn't help. I'm so fed up with this constant rejection. I have given up on trying to meet someone. I'm telling myself that if I ever meet someone who wants to date, they will have to find me because I don't have the energy to keep looking for a partner. Maybe I need a break from trying to find someone for a bit because I'm feeling so sad about it. Any advice or support would really help me out. Thank you.

The Scarlet Witch was controlled by Dr. Doom in Multiverse of Madness.
In the comics, the scarlet witch, due to the influence of Doctor Doom and being overwhelmed by temporarily increased power, attacks the Avengers, causing the destruction of Vision as well as Avengers Mansion. After subduing Wanda, and unaware she was under another's influences, the Avengers disband.
The MCU is taking its own spin on this tale. I don’t think it’s a coincidence Wanda was a villain, they introduce Wiccan/Speed to the MCU in Agatha, and announce Dr. Doom is coming to the MCU all in a short time frame. Yes they gave reasons for Wanda to be a villain, she was at a vulnerable point, but there was something missing. She needed a little magical shove to go full dark side. She was at a state perfect for someone observing from across the multiverse with a mastery of sorcery to knudge over the edge, and along the way kill a Mr. Fantastic, the arch enemy of none other than Dr. Doom.
In the end she is pitted against dr strange, with one of the two most powerful magic users in the sacred timeline doomed to die. Wanda was removed from the board for a conquering Dr. Doom to arrive.
Just a theory but all the pieces do seem to fit. There might be even more that I haven’t noticed. Perhaps the new fantastic four movie has Wanda still controlled, putting them in a 60’s sitcom as ordered by Doom, but they free her from Doom’s control and get back to the sacred timeline to fight Doom.

2025.01.26 06:21 Ok_Tangerine4130 I loved season 1 for the cozy ambience -- any other show suggestions?
Silo, Severance, Loki -- some other examples that come to mind. These shows have pretty mysterious/futuristic/sci-fi settings that makes hunkering in and watching at night fun.
Season 1 was probably a standout favorite -- an isolated rig, the dark ocean, the falling ash, the loss of communications. Season 2... all character drama, no ambience (except for some shots of the snow in ep 1-2). Anyone got similar suggestions?

I’m a retired military vet with passive income and healthcare covered. I also have about $250K in savings and another $150K to add to rhat once i sell mu home.
Recently, I’ve felt an overwhelming urge to leave the U.S., especially after a tough breakup a few months ago that’s left me reevaluating everything. The current political climate isn’t helping either. So I've decided to fast track my plans to leave the US and retire 10 years earlier than planned.
I’m in the process of applying for a D7 visa to move to Portugal with my daughter (her mom is fully supportive of the move), and I’m hoping for approval by June. My house goes on the market soon, with the plan to close in late May when the school year (and my contract) ends.
Right now, I’m in the process of unhitching myself from my current life—selling my house, preparing for the move, and figuring out what’s next. The transition period feels unsettling, though. The thought of not having a place to call home for a while and living in limbo until the move is daunting.
I want to use this time wisely, but I’m not sure where to start or how to stay grounded during this period of waiting. Has anyone been in a similar situation—preparing for a big life change while managing the uncertainties of the in-between? I’d love to hear how you handled it, what you did to stay focused, or any advice on how to make the most of this transitional time.
