 | In previous posts we have looked at the option payoff diagrams when we buy or sell a single option. But what happens to your portfolio and the option payoff diagram when you buy and sell more than one option? To explore what happens, we will use the example of a Long Bull Call Spread strategy. What is a Long Bull Call Spread strategy? This is a strategy where you moderately bullish but you do not think the price will go up that much, but you also want downside price protection. In other words this strategy will limit your losses AND also limit your profits. To make this strategy you need to BUY a lower strike ETH call option and SELL a higher strike ETH call option. Example: ETH current price is at $3350. You do the below: Buy an ETH call option at strike $3400 where you will then have to go and pay a premium of -$250 Sell an ETH call option at strike $3700 where you will now be going to receive a premium of +$150 Let’s build the option payoff diagram to see your maximum loss and maximum profit. We will need to divide into 3 parts. Final Thoughts This strategy can be useful when you have bullish view but you thinking that price is not will going up so much, and at the same time you want to limit your downside risk without using a stop loss. No matter how low the price goes below $3400, you can only lose $100, BUT no matter how high the price goes above $3700, you can only earn +200. Therefore you only enter this strategy when you think price will go up but not much more than $3700. As you can see, by using a combination of options, you can build many different strategies to cater for many different market conditions, including up, down, sideways, up slightly, down slightly, or even profit when it goes both up and down. So I'm finally ready to make an offer on a house. Naively (from talking with family members), I thought the process would be rather informal, talking back and forth with REAs and then once an amount was settled on, I would bring in someone for conveyance for the contract.
Instead I've been sent an 80 page docusign document with a bunch of legal jargon far beyond my comprehension. Roughly 20-30 pages are actual contract/special conditions, the rest is just supporting information.
I'm assuming it would be a good idea to get a conveyancer involved in this step before I sign anything. However, I do notice that REIWA states that 'The contract is not legally binding until the Contract for Sale of Land or Strata Title by Offer and Acceptance has been signed by all relevant parties and communication of its acceptance is conveyed to everyone involved'. Is a conveyancer a 'relevant party' (they do have to sign this document), and thus can I sign it before getting it reviewed?
I'm freaking out because I really do want this property, and want to put in an offer ASAP, but I can't get in touch with anyone until Tuesday due to the public holidays. But I also do not want to expose myself to any undue risk.

I'm looking for guidance on whether FIRE is achievable for my family given some recent changes. Here’s a quick overview of our situation and what I’d love your input on:
- Background: I (37) married to my wife (36) with a 2-year-old child. I earn $425K annually, and my wife earns $110K. We’re relatively minimalistic and don’t spend much on luxury items. Historically, our annual spending was ~$100K, but this has increased to ~$150K due to a second home purchase.
- Recent Event: I recently left Apple and exercised a significant amount of options, which has left me with a large amount of cash currently sitting in a HYSA.

I’m out looking for the friends I’m supposed to me making along the way in my journey through life. I guess I may find my enemies as well now that I think about it, but no risk, no reward.
I watch a boatload of anime. I’ve been a big fan since I was in high school. Some of my favorites include One Piece, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Hunter x Hunter, Attack on Titan, Death Parade, Vinland Saga, FullMetal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo. I’ve reading manga as well but definitely don’t spend as much time on it as anime.
I’ve always loved cars. I use to build model cars as a kid and now I just enjoy the thrill of being out on the road. I work for a construction company and instantly became a fan of any type of heavy equipment: Cranes, Dozers, Excavators, Loaders, you name it. I’m currently building a Lego D11 Dozer!
I guess part of working in construction is thinking I can do every little home improvement thing myself, even though I spend 90 percent of my time in the office… Yet I still find myself wanting to tackle any little home task at hand and use it as an excuse to buy a new tool.
I’d describe myself as an introvert. I tend to be more comfortable at home, than going out with a big group of people. I’m kind of bad at small talk tbh, but I’m slowly getting better at being a listener. I’m actively trying to step out of my comfort zone and build relationships with people. I have a 2x2 cube and have watched so many tutorials and none of them make sense to me. It could be because I don’t have the brain for it. 2025.01.26 07:49 PhatJohnT How sophisticated is MTB carbon frame fab these days?
This is a long shot, but Im really curious as to what goes on the carbon bike industry. Ive seen a ton of complaints and speculation on the current state of carbon in MTB. To the point where a big segment of riders are advocating for alloy frames.
Coming from a aerospace composites background, this shouldn't be the case. Carbon should never be in competition with aluminum in any way, except maybe price point in a volume setting. Carbon is a performance material that will crush isotropic materials (alloys) in any situation when applied correctly. The challenge is the extra engineering effort to account for more complicated analysis in applications.
So Im left wondering what is going on with the carbon influence in MTB. The only way alloys can be competing with composites is if "carbon" is now being treated as a box to be checked instead of a real performance asset.
Im guessing its because mass-markets are people who value boxes checked over actual performance. Meaning they are not skilled enough to realize the advantages of CF.
Thats it. Im drunk. Fuck you. I just wish there were better carbon bikes out there. I feel like this is an unrealized potential and the application of composites in consumer bikes is total BS.

Hello, I (27M) have had bleeding and drainage since late November from inside my belly button, 3 days before it started there was a constant slight sharp pain inside the area, it wasn't really painful so I ignored it but on the 3rd day it stopped hurting and there was blood and I've been dealing with it everyday since then.
On my first visit to my doctors she had said that it looked fine and didn't feel any bumps so she prescribed me Doxycycline (twice daily for 10 days) and the bleeding had stopped but there was still constant drainage and it had started bleeding again on the last days. She also had me do a bleeding time test but didn't tell me the results so I assume it was fine.
On my second visit she said that the skin was red but still didn't feel any bumps so she prescribed me Bactrim and Mupirocin (both twice daily for 10 days) and I took the last pill just now so I'm out of bactrim, I don't know if it helped because Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I didn't bleed and the drainage was less than usual but after that it's back to the usual mess.
Followed up last Friday and she said it looked fine and that it wasn't red or wet inside like before so for me to finish the medicine and come back if it starts again and she'll order a ct scan, which it did so I'll have to make an appointment Monday.
Advice & thoughts? Am I overreacting in thinking that my doctor hasn't been taking this seriously? Just to preface, she hasn't looked inside and she only felt inside with her finger once during the first visit, the other visits she just feels the outside rim of my belly button and when I ask her what she thinks is going on she says she doesn't know, that this isn't her field (or something along those lines) and that if it gets worse she'll refer me to someone else.
There isn't any pain nor do I feel ill, I have not taken anything else since it started, when I have to clean the inside I clean it in the shower (morning) and with a 70% alcoholic wipe (night) both times I try to be gentle and don't poke deep inside and then I dry inside with a tissue, again as gentle as possible.
