I worked at a private school for a year and a half. I came forward to my admin about a new student needing specialized care due to violent outbursts (biting and hurting staff and students.) The Assistant Director confided in me that her boss had not properly trained her on how to address this situation. But then I was reprimanded for advocating for my studentâs safety. My speaking out led to this child receiving a diagnosis and attending a school that fits his needs. Then I was written up for listening to a clean version of a pop song played weeks before, and watching a movie during our in service day. Neither of which are against our rules, as other teachers do both and it is not in our handbook. I was with my coteacher during both these events and she was not written up. Then my coteacher complained that I did not tell her about an invite from the parents that was stated in front of both of us.
Another member on our team was very aggressive and rude towards all our employees. She had multiple complaints from her coworkers, her studentâs parents, and even our head of school.
That coworker approached me and asked me why âI did not like her.â I explained that it wasnât my conversation to have with her. She insisted, and I told her she would make unkind comments and would brag excessively about herself. I told her she would brag about her work and then need our administrative teamâs help for said work.
Then an HR investigation was opened, and I was fired 2 weeks before I was scheduled to take time off for a medical procedure. I was escorted by security and was not allowed to say goodbye to my students. They emailed the parents and said âThis teacher is no longer employed here. The children are safe.â
Last year I was told I was a âmodel teacherâ with the âwarmest classroom environment they had seen it years.â
I am openly gay and it is a private Christian school so I think there are levels to my termination. I think it derives from their discrimination, or me speaking out about that student who needed special education.

2025.01.27 04:47 Mr_Rafi Not being able to play ranked in a 5-stack is so frustrating. It's the worst thing about the game for my group right now.
I really don't understand this. I don't understand why we have have to cater to that 1-solo player on the team. They'd be glad to play amongst a coordinated 5-stack. This was only done to prevent bullying a solo player, but even in the case of a 4-stack, the 4 friends can annoy the duos as well. So, where's the logic? You don't see Overwatch doing this. I've got the optimal 5-stack of friends and we can't even play comp together. It just doesn't make sense, it's a bit ridiculous.

I have a Kobo Glo HD that stopped working two years ago.
Natengga siya for months tapos noong gagamitin ko na siya, sabi sa screen ay need i-charge. I charged it and white na lang ang screen for 2 years na :((
I tried charging it for more than a day, factory reset, and pagtanggal sa micro SD but wala na.
Kobo's CS only offered to replace it kung nasa US ako.
Ask ko lang if you know anyone or any repair shops na specialize in fixing e-readers?
Thinking if I should get a secondhand Kindle pero di pa kasi pasok sa budget ko...

A little bit of rant. I live pretty far from the main business area where all offices are and looking for a job. The commute to interviews is a pure nightmare especially if itâs scheduled in the morning. Driving for almost an hour in traffic, looking for parking (if thereâs any otherwise park few blocks away and walk) or sometimes if late need to pay for parking in building which is so damn expensive and companies wonât validate parking for me. And then they make me wait for hour or so when HR manager will finally come (although I reach 10-15 minutes early) Waste money for petrol, time, money for parking just to have quick discussion 15-20 minutes without any guarantee to get selected or to understand that company is so bad that wasnât even worth coming. Those who come by metro or bus struggle even more as most of the time it guarantees coming late waiting for bus in heat or being stuck in crowd so they have to take taxi and pay even more. I noticed that more or less adequate companies are ok with scheduling interview online. Old style companies want mandatory physical show up even if they say âoh itâs the first stage we just wanted to take a look at everyoneâ and wonât even answer basic questions making second and third round⌠why canât companies just interview people online? I believe it would be more effective than making candidates waste their time and money and waste their own time as they can have more structured schedule without lateness and interview more people. Why canât it become standard? (Iâm not talking about jobs where thereâs strict checkup like doctors for example) but for most of jobs.
