Question 1
So I went out today with my Nokta simplex ultra and i feel more confused than when i started. I did some research and I found a school that was around since the 1920s. When I heard some signals I knew that they were coins and I thought they were silver. I was wrong and they were newer clad quarters that were about 4 inches deep. I've tested out clad and silver before and its hard for me to tell a difference in the tone. The coins were ringing up in the 90s at a very high sound which I thought had to be silver. After that I turned my sensitivity to the max and thought that would work and I found another newer quarter that was 6in deep. My question is how to find silver coins/old coins with my machine and how deep does silver usually lie. Because signals get very faint and unreadable with sensitivity to the max at about 7in ( I tested them out of the ground before hand) and the distance is less when the coins are on its side. Is there a way to increase the distance on the machine to find silver? I feel like especially clad ones from above the 2000’s shouldn't be that deep. I also feel a little worried that I wont find deep coins with my machine and I don’t rly have the budget to sell/buy a new and better one. Also will trying to look for 1800s coins be possible on my machine?
Question 2
When I was also at the school I was picking up some signals that were jumping from anywhere from 20 to 70 each time I went over it. When I dug them up I couldn't really find anything. I know when you're new that you're supposed to dig everything but is it really worth it? And what metal could this be?
If any of these questions could be answered it would be greatly appreciated.

I am reading Half Blood Prince again and noticed that Slughorn dismissively refers to Ron as “your dear friend Rupert” while talking with Harry on ch22. On my kindle, this is on pg 403. Anyone else ever notice this? I wonder if it was intentional, considering the first movie had come out already.

I'm looking for advice on the best way to obtain legal guardianship of my nephew.
Currently, my mother has custody of my nephew and has since February 2020 as he was placed in her care through CAS. The story she told me is as EMS and OPP we're called to my sister's home, they found her beaten badly and called my mother to come get my nephew. Since then, he has been in her care. For context, my sister is an addict and her house was a place for illegal activities and my nephew, 2 at the time, was neglected. In 2023, my fiancé and I moved out of our parents homes and into our own place. My nephew has his own bedroom and clothes here and I frequently have him over whether for the day, weekend and have had him while my mother has been out of town. I live in the same town as my mother. My nephew and I are extremely close and have always planned on having him in my custody (I'm 26 and was 19 and in university when he was born). My fiancé is on board of getting custody and we are open to adoption once we're married and have had him in our care for an extended period of time and IF my nephew would like to be adopted. My nephew (now 7) often speaks about living with us, is constantly asking to visit and when I bring him home - he's already asking when the next time he can come back. What would be the best way to obtain custody of him? My mother will no willingly give us custody. I have asked twice and she shot me down, would not give me any reasons and I don't want this to be a big ordeal or fight with her and be as peaceful as possible.

2025.01.27 04:41 Dr_Superfluid O1 Mini is incapable of following instructions
As the title says I am very frustrated with the performance of the o1 mini. I ask it for a code using a new method I want to test. Then, it defaults to the known method immediately without even considering the new method.
I specifically tell it do not use the existing method, but use the new one. And then comes the typical answer. "I am sorry for the inconvenience" and then proceed to do exactly what I told it not to do.
The o1 model actually got what I wanted immediately, but what was most surprising was that the 4o also performed much better. I find the 4o to be much more consistent in following instructions. I think that the o1 mini is the worse new model they have created. Way too verbose even if you change the settings, hallucinates all the time, and is incapable of following direct instructions.

Hello, as title says! I need a job soon, and even left corporate but I hve no idea where to go 🥲 any ideas?
Would very much love to be a designer (consumefurniture), which seems doable in Europe but I'm in Asia. does anyone know how to go about this if I don't have a degree in physical product design? Do I just sketch and kickstarter or are there other options?
I'm looking at a degree application too, but aware it can be challenging without a reference as a mature applicant.
Any advice would be really appreciated especially from someone in the design space! thank you in advance!

I recently got 2k25 and for the past 2 weeks I have been grinding out my midrange so I can unlock kyrie's full kit. I didn't have the attributes for his base yet so I was running an Allen Iverson and kyrie all upper. And for a while I thought I was using that jumper and I was getting good at using it. Today I decided to play around with the animations list a bit and I noticed under jumpshot it said default swing. I never equipped the custom jumper apparently. Should I just stick with the default jumper or just get better with my custom?
