I have no clue where I'm going with this post. My fiance just dumped me this morning. She was the love of my life, we were supposed to get married. I feel so sad and angry at the same time. And also naive, how could I seriously believe that this relationship was bulletproof. I had never imagined in my wildest fantasy that this was going to end. She was my soulmate. We just moved to a foreign country together after she recieved a once in a lifetime job offer.
I feel so bitter! I understand she's doing this because she has fallen out of love. But I dont understand where that happened. Where did we loose each other. I have laid down my life for this woman and I cant fathom to understand what I have done wrong or could have done differently.
I woke up this morning believing everything was normal. And now I'm slowly settling in on the fact that I have to move back in with my father at the fine age of 31. How the fuck did it come to this. I wish I could say there was any signs, but this struck as lightning on a clear sky.

Back in June 2024 I ordered food through UberEats with my card using someone’s account. I cancelled that card number. Fast forward December 2024 I get charged for UberOne. They refund me and block the charge. January 2025 I get another charge for UberOne. I reach out they refund and block but Uber has multiple merchant numbers so.
I contact Uber and they tell me the persons name how is using it. I reach out to them they say they aren’t using the card but idk. Don’t understand why Uber would lie. Discover said they can only block the charge and merchant numbers. They cannot fleet my old number because this is considered a recurring charge so they do not want to disrupt the transaction. Uber has been extremely unhelpful and keeps passing me to different people in the chat. Who end up asking the same question.
How do I fix this?

2025.01.27 16:52 Simple-Floor2213 RTO but it’s a very chill job. What would you do?
Long story long after a year long job search I landed a hybrid job last February making 77k. I started off as a contractor and 4 months into the contract I was offered FTE.
I am completely new to the industry (SaaS) and my background is teaching.
I love my manager and my work load is about 2 hours a day. It’s been great working hybrid but it all ends next week as we will have to do 5 days in office.
So here’s a couple things:
-I come in around 930 and leave at 330 and do about two hours at home -I have zero micro management -It’s not really a toxic work environment -We can still work from home every now and then just can’t abuse it. -I still have permission every once in a while to work out of state (which is why I got this job) so I can visit my parents.
Am I overreacting with the RTO?
It’s going to be a significant mental adjustment for me. I haven’t worked a traditional office job five days a week in years, and as someone with ADHD, I know it will be challenging to sit still for long periods while also giving up the freedom I’ve enjoyed over the past year.
Should I get another year down on my resume or take my chances with finding a new job? (Obviously not quitting before then)
What would you do?

Hi all,
Going straight to the point: many people successfully use real estate (often with leverage) to get to FIRE, as the core or supplementary part of their investment strategy.
I know some uninformed people go into real estate underestimating not only the effort it requires, but also the costs (maintenance, taxes,…) and risks (vacancy, illegal occupation in some geographies) it may entail.
My questions thus is: all things accounted for (including all costs and risks), what is a reasonable cash on cash yield one can expect from real estate, both levered and unlevered, in residential or commercial in a reasonable time frame (10-15 years)? I am leaving out price gains on purpose. Are there historical references for this? I only seem to find information for yields but those ignore the aforementioned costs and risks.

As title says, I'm torn between getting a second-hand Arc for ~$560 or and brand new Beam (gen2) for ~$450. We do have a shelf next to the TV-stand, so it might interfere with the side-firing speakers on the Arc. Although I don't think I'd be able to get a cheaper Arc here. Thoughts?

Anybody else had this happen? I've had one personal loan in the past with Discover (paid off in full), a steady income, a credit score above 750. Most of my monthly paycheck goes straight to house payments, necessities, etc, so I don't have more than a couple thousand in my checking acct at any given time. But I absolutely have the ability to pay back the loan. Should I wait until the 1st of month when my direct deposit hits and I have significantly more in my checking and try again? Any advice would be appreciated!
